Even after everything that happens, the revelation that Locke was in a wheelchair is still one of the best moments in the show. Locke's theme that plays during that scene is incredible.

I remember watching this episode air and just being in awe. It was one of the first times I experienced character writing this good. The reveal of Locke being in a wheelchair combined with his angry speech and the music swelling captured my tiny preteen attention and made me fall in love with this show. Can't remember if I cried when I first watched it but dang do I have tears in my eyes now after all these years.
I honestly had to stop watching by around the end of season 2/early season 3 the other year. I just couldn't keep watching. All the main characters are so annoying and stupidly stubborn and make bad decisions that I just couldn't stand seeing them. I could physically see when they had to act irrationally as the only way for the writers to keep the plot moving forward.
That's exactly what happened to me. I liked the first 3 episodes, but this one made me love the show. The final sequence is a masterpiece. There is horror and death all around Locke, but the way it is filmed, and the fantastic music make you feel hope and happiness for him.
Wow, just wow. I've heard of synchronicity, but this is just bizarre. I'm an Australian that was forced to start using a wheelchair exactly 4 years ago (similar to Lock since it's now 2020) in april of 2016. Considering the fact that I'm currently watching "Lost" for the first time (since each time blindwave upload's an episode, I watch the full episode first, before watching their reaction), this "Lock" character is starting to freak me out. I literally worked a 9 to 5 job until four years ago when at 32, both my hips stopped working due to fucking osteo-necrosis. Then I was all of a sudden labeled as "disabled". Everyone's telling me I can't do the same thing's as before, opening doors for me, offering me help to get up stairs, trying to help me do this and that ect... ect.. It's so patronizing. I used to be the same myself, alway's offering support to those "in need of help". The best help you can give anyone is respect. Don't pity those who appear helpless, you'll only come across as a cunt, cause the True Blue "Lock" is the answer to the key. ;)

This is the BEST episode of Lost from my point of view. The story telling in this show is out of this world. There can be many shows that compete for the best TV show ever made list, but none of them will have the mystery and suspense that Lost have throughout its entire run.
