It's so sad to see people just throwing away their guys. The recycling bin is right there!
yea last time i put a guy in my trash bag I went to prison for 25 years... True crime on youtube made me somewhat a star so I kinda lurk around youtube to see who else got dudes in a trash bag
But where is the Reguycling bin?
i was a boy. they were 138 girls. can i make it any more obvious? thats right, i had a crazy dream last night. HAHAHAHAHA!!! im the funniest youtube star ever. youre welcome for laughing dear dea
This actually really profound.
You're so right! Other people may still want the guy,you know . I mean if he's not to badly damaged you can just give him a good scrub and reuse him..
"You think you can win on that?"
Spoken like a true dad.
Are you winning son?
@@kimarna It's hentai, dad, you always win
I won BOTW and Odyssey but haven’t won anything on Switch since then because I became a dad and don’t have time for games. The shitty irony of life is I have enough money to easily buy the PS5, Xbox Series X, Switch, a huge OLED TV and a bunch of games for each console but I never have time to beat them, except for a few in 2020 when we were stuck at home and I had a little time away from the kids late at night. I have at least 20 games I haven’t finished the past several years. I’ll go back in to play them but I’ve forgotten all the controls and it’s so hard I can’t do anything against those fucking robot dinosaurs in Horizon Zero Dawn they keep kicking my dick in so then I usually either quit or just get a new game on the rare weekend I have a few hours to play. Now that my kids are getting older they’re starting to play some games and like watching so I’ve been trying kid friendly games on Xbox Game Pass like I am Fish and actually beat that one recently while the kids watched. Felt good to beat a game it had been a while and it was actually a fun puzzle platformer.

What I love about the Joel Haver universe is the air of innocence that often lingers. Like someone else here said nobody is judging each other, it's a weird interaction but it's just so sweet, then when Spence came in I thought something was going to happen, but he's just a nice guy wishing them a nice night, which shouldn't be funny but simply just is.
We are so used to plot twists, it is the unexpected when there are none
In his "Meet at midnight" video, someone commented that part of Joel's comedy is just "What if people were actually just nice"
Didn’t realize people were so easygoing about their trash.. I’ll go catch my neighbor tomorrow morning. Hoping to score a free guy.
That might be difficult though cuz guys only come in the rare garbage bags, not the common ones

Yeah. It was a perfectly good bag and he just put a bunch of junk in it.
Trent is the greatest straight man ever! His calm and cool demeanor, and his ability to deliver any line no matter how absurd with a completely straight face is absolutely incredible! Trent is so chill he’s like, he really wants it. I guess he can have it.
This is actually super accurate, our town has a recycle center at the dump where they put out things that people threw away on display and some of the stuff I've seen is wild. I've taken skiis, a Keurig machine, a printer, general decor, etc. Still keeping my eye out on a guy but who knows eventually I'll find a bag full of them
If you ever find a guy or 2 there, let us know please.
There’s so much thrown out that could easily see a second life, if only making that happen was as easy as throwing things out.
careful with used keurig's I've see some of the older models water tanks are a great place for some type of mite. could depend on your location, I'm in a pretty dry spot in SC
Wealthier neighborhoods are where people throw away things people in poorer areas would be glad to have. I've seen working lawn mowers, weed-eaters, etc. People throw them out because they "got a new one" and just tossed it.
In NYC in many neighborhoods people just put stuff they don't want in their sidewalk, sometimes with a post-it note saying "FREE " if it's not obvious. The expectation is that someone will come and take it away. Apartments don't have a ton of space and it's usually more onerous to keep something around or take it with you when you move (and selling in craigslist and such is a job). I've done that sometimes and the thing is gone before I'm back to my apartment. Some people make a job out of just going around and picking stuff up, then selling it somewhere. Blame over consumerism and all that, but it's good that there's a culture of reuse.
This brings me back to my dumpster diving days. One of the guys I would regularly run into was a schizophrenic homeless dude, who was given to talking about the craziest motherfucking shit for hours on end. One day I asked him if he ever had a real job and he said yeah, he had one that made him travel all over the place including one where he was in Antarctica. Thinking that it was going to be an awesome story, I asked him if he was some sort of explorer or secret agent there. He looked at me as if I was the crazy one and said "No, I was a research librarian for the engineers working there. It was boring."
Maybe he was telling the truth. You know Hitler still lives there on his secret base
i wasn’t with Notre Dame at first, but then i saw the *banana* … 🤔
That was B A N A N A N A S
I have had this experience in real life… more than once- a lot actually. I wasn’t throwing out a Nintendo Switch or a couple of guys, but man… when I moved from the US China 14 years ago, it really made me reevaluate the things I throw away. Just a small example- The first time I took out the trash in Shanghai, I took a bunch of cardboard boxes out, and a guy with a giant cart of cardboard offered me a coin (about 15 cents) to give him the boxes instead of throwing them out. I gave him the boxes and told him to keep the money, but he kept insisting on paying me. Since then, I can’t tell you how many times the garbage man asked me “can I keep this?” When I take stuff out to the curb on trash day.
I wonder what he was using the cardboard for. Maybe he's the guy that sells cardboard boxes to homeless people. He's got the market cornered I tell ya
Yeah, people do this for a living. Cardbord specially is paid by the weight. In China and also South Korea reciclying is such a big thing. I used to see a bunch of trash looking bins for used clothes and some stuff were in pretty good shape.
Living in latinamerica, it's very common to see people going into the trash bins looking for plastic bottles, clothes and other stuff that are in mid conditions. They even go by houses yelling if you have some used stuff they can buy.
Yeah, my parents raised me like this as well now I can't really throw stuff away with out conflict in my soul.
In the Philippines I remember even empty cans of coffee powder, any kind of metal, extension wires that don’t work (for copper), cardboard boxes, these guys buy almost anything recyclable.
Fancy meeting you here
I can understand tossing the Switch, but a pristine banana? That part really broke my suspension of disbelief.
you need to upgrade your suspension to have some good shock absorbers
makes all the difference when delivering tofu
And apparently you also watch videos backwards, the banana came before the switch
Your comment entertained me probably more than it should.
Well if it's broken just throw it into the trash and buy another suspension of desbelief, I heard they got a discount in walmart
The bana was pristine
“You think you can win on that?” Is such a good line. Trent’s delivery is always so dry in the perfect way, I love it. Spenc bringing absolutely nothing to this video was also beautiful 😂
I can’t explain how satisfying it was to see the shot of the lamp going back into the bag. Jokes really can be funnier the second time.
A nuanced critique of western societies consumerist culture and our obsession with discarding unwanted items, without regard for the many ways they could help impact other lives. Haver proposes that the solution to this is through community (taking the time to say hello to Ryan and Spence) and a destigmatision of reusing others items. 9/10

Very apropos to a critically thinking critique. I rated.
Hearing Joel laugh at the end I had a moment of confusion like "but he's still in the bag??"
ya he's still in the bag. We're all in the bag.
This is like Halloween at Jack Nicholson's shed! 🦎
Gex! Ah, so many references wasted on childhood me.
Gex is coming back bayBEE
I haven't seen blasts like this since taco night at James Earl Jones's house.
My favorite part was the lamp. That was very relatable and sold the skit for me. I dont know how many lamps I almost took from somebody but then realized they werent to my taste. A lot.
Yeah I never would've thought I'd be picky about lamps but I have turned down so many perfectly good free lamps because they just didn't appeal to me. Now, couches, on the other hand - I've been the happy owner of so many different secondhand couches 🛋 and I don't think I've ever owned more than two matching chairs at a time
One man’s trash is another man’s pleasure
This is good stuff. When he said "I couldn't win" I was dying. I hope that life puts you in all the best places Joel Haver, you deserve it.
Yet another example of Trent's super strength. He carries hundreds of pounds of trash with incredible ease.

This is just Animal Crossing when you dig through the local trash dump for furniture
We found "trash" outside of a "nice" house ready for pick up. Went through the old books that were placed there with the trash on one of our nightly walks. We walked away with several, one being a "signed by Marc Chagall art book" with a typed note from his wife placed inside and translated with a separate note. Awkwardness so well crafted, it's like modern art
Joel's found out that when he has no idea how to end a video he can just have the cast break. Honestly I think not knowing how to end a sketch must be as old as sketch comedy itself

Leaving the laughs at the end gets me every time
Good video Joel! Your content inspires others and makes everyones day a little bit better, thanks for your dedication to what you love!
I wonder if he has Thor: The Dark World in that bag?
I found a nice bed side table near the dumpster a few years ago. I checked it out, it still looked like it was in good conditon no roaches or rot. So I took it home spruced it up and kept it.
This is a really good piece on why we should donate stuff. Love it.
I'm going to ask to look in my neighbors trash a lot more often! They might have a Nintendo Switch or a really cool floor lamp!
Cool stuff, is there another video in there?
This is so niche and relatable to such a vital, mostly unseen part of me, thank you for this lmao
I just moved in to a new house that I'm renovating, and on day two of my neighbors were both throwing out a bunch of furniture and household things, I walked up to them as they were walking away from the curb I awkwardly introduced myself and immediately took a bunch of stuff back to my house and have done it multiple times since.
My first impression with everyone has been walking down the street with their trash like a cryptid; carrying bar stools, a dresser, lamps, a TV, and random shit like a step ladder and bucket.
I could've never asked my neighbours for their old furniture, too shy. But it comes to things like these I always immediately assume its unlucky and something bad happen, you know, maybe someone died in it but that's just me being paranoid
Fun fact: In Australia there’s this thing where for a few days each year, people can just leave all their big items they don’t want anymore in a pile on the curb, the kind of stuff you wouldn’t put in a regular bin. During that time, anyone is allowed to just walk up and take stuff from the curb. You can find some pretty neat stuff if you look hard enough, especially if you’re looking for old second hand furniture. At the end of the period of time the garbage men come and take what’s left away. Don’t know how the tradition started but it’s pretty cool
I found a nearly brand new leather office chair a month or so ago. Some minor tears in the fabric on the back, but apart from that all good.
This was mere days after my previous office chair broke.
Hilarious as always, at first I was like "Ah this seems like a kind of weird one, probably one of their few misses." But nope, funny as always in a way only you guys manage to capture. 10/10

The way he declines his request the first few times and then in the exact same way says yes all of a sudden makes this entire video lol.
