I've never heard someone comment- Wow, I bet they mowed that super fast... But, I have heard- Wow, look at those stripes. Guess which one sells jobs? We put our JDs on jobs next to other brand mowers' jobs, and we make them look ridiculous. Even the other mowing crews admit how much better our jobs look than theirs.
I enjoy these mow an acre videos but in all honesty I care more about comfort than speed. I'm currently leaning towards an X390 buy it seems the more I study lawnmowers the more confused I get.
It takes me 3 1/2 hours to mow my 1/2 Acre lawn on a riding lawnmower from John Deere! At 64 I am challenged trying to change the blade to a lift blade for the grass catcher so after I mow it then, I have to rake it that’s another hour or two. I am really not enjoying this lawnmower at all!
HELP HELP HELP S240 42 INCH. I REPLACE DECK AND NEW PARTS BUT I KEEP BURNING UP THE PTO CLUTCH WITH END 2 CUTS AND AT 354.00 RACH I CAN'T REPLACE IT NOW UNTIL I SAVE. BUT WHY IS IT BURNING UP NEW PTO CLUTCH? HELP HELP. MOWER HAS 246HR
Homeowner mow with a commercial... SMH. We want to see how it stripes. Blow 2 rounds inside and then start laying down the stripes. JD lays down real nice lines. Gotta run it like a commercial.

I know an x590 is more money than an x390 but compare the two before you buy.

Sure it can. the condition of the yard will be the main factor.
I can cut thick grass a a steady 5 mph on my Z345R... which is great until I hit a hidden stump. Then I go flying through the air.

I would take this to your local dealer. It should not be burning up clutches like that. Let me know what you find out.
