I purchased the score today to start learning this. It’s really beautiful. I’m a guitar player, went to Berklee, but have only very basic piano skills. I was hoping the score would have notes on which fingers to use and which hand. Or I wish there was an overshot video of your hands! Ha.
But I will do my best!
Thanks for purchasing the score - the fingerings should be self-evident most of the time if you observe the hand distribution. I have to confess that I purposely leave out most fingerings because relying on the little numbers is somewhat of a crutch - it’s really helpful to learn to figure them out yourself. You will gain a lot of confidence. So do try your best, good luck and thanks again for your interest!

A heartwarming transcript, could listen to this for hours .. But was there a wrong note at 1:08?
@@aymanoru Thank you. It is “wrong as far as what people normally play but when I was doing research I found this version by Julius Klengel and I like it because there is more of an organic ritardando with the B natural.

Beautifully played. Having said that, there is no transcription made here, you just played the notes exactly written in the original cello score. I know that by heart, because I play this prelude in my piano too...
Thank you. There is a transcription made because I wrote out and published all 6 suites in a piano score: 2 staves, distribution between hands, some alerations in other movements, etc.. Took a lot of time and effort.

Hello Maestra Bindman! I just purchased your sheet music transcription of this piece because I don't believe there is a finer transcription of this Prelude on the Internet. For those of us pianists who are not "purists" and don't necessarily always follow the rules (for me especially when it comes to Bach which I find very hard to understand), I noticed in your analysis that you do not mention use of the pedal at all, and there are no "Ped" markings in the score anywhere. I see you do you use the sustain pedal here, but what is your advice on the pedaling of J.S. Bach piano transcriptions for this piece and in general? Thank you for the wonderful labor of love and care that you have clearly put into all of these masterpieces.
Thank you - I use half-pressed pedal sometimes for more "atmospheric' sound but it's a difficult subject to fit into a short answer here. Generally, transcriptions should allow for more "creative" pedaling.
It's interesting how the structure of your transcription is similar to the Bach's C Major Prelude in WTC. You've illuminated the similarities. It's not so apparent when I compare the cello to the piano except for now.
You are very perceptive. I actually make a comparison of the two in my commentaries to the score of this transcription and do a detailed analysis of this Prelude.

If you are referring to the extra note before the ascent to high D as the "mistake," that is a version by Julius Klengel which I prefer and used for my transcription.
in Italy you cannot walk wearing these shoes 🤭
