If you're going the 3 piece Trang-Oul's route, I'd consider going hoto + spirit for that +5 all skills. It will boost the Firewall damage up by a lot as the paladin weapon and shield only gives +pala skills. Also for bosses, at certain FCR breakpoints your Holy Bolt will probably be dealing more DPS over FoH so the FCR from Hoto + Spirit might help reach those break points, though I haven't tested it myself.
Someone recommended using the Dragonscale Shield, with +skills you can have 6 hydras out that melt stuff with your conviction aura. That is a super cool merc idea though, really neat. I do like the idea of the Dragonscale shield more though since Hydra's don't care if the monster moves at all.

For FoH mana problems, can "easily" (if lucky or rich) find a scepter that has the 5 sockets for CTA that instead of having holy shield, having redemption aura or just sinking 1 point into that and it'll really fix much of mana issues. Quickly changing to redemption after killing mass with FoH (like in chaos due to the holy bolts are the main damage of it and it wreaks demons/undead) leaving tons of bodies around, you'll quickly regen the mana back from that killing. This suggests that both conviction and Holy Shock Skill points as a lightning boost, do not support the main damage dealer of the Paladin itself. it could be possible that if both conviction and Holy Shock are maxed, that the FoH Lightning itself might become a sniping tool of individual enemies, but then again, I thought this is the job of the Holy Bolts (Magic) skill. without Conviction and Holy Shock, there are plenty of skill points to spare, but what where to spend those points? a whole other view is taking Merc into account, but here again I am not sure which Fanatism or Conviction Auras with different Mercs provide the best clearing speed and safety (I play HC). That clears the whole game and nothing is immune to you without needing a specific set. But if you dig the mage type class yes tossing some firewall is dope while you can :)
@@dvdgamingthings289 It does 18,558 dps with conviction including the bolts, but 16,272 of that is lightning, I calculate all my damage based on Diablo. In essence you would be nerfing yourself without conviction. You can just go with using Holy Bolts I suppose, but for smite you lose a lot in higher player count games even if you have high Crushing Blow (it's based on the monster's base health at P1) but there is not a lot of room for crushing blow on a caster paladin. More damage from conviction comes in his case from the Firewall, and in the spec I want to use it comes from Hydras.
1 of the guys that doesn´t have any idea about Paladin XD first you go hoto because of the fcr and resistance compared with enigma, you never go Ormus because it´s just boosting up your light dmg, but your holy bolts from foh does the dmg. 2nd never ever go trang ouls !!!! i mean never !!!! you just lose so much dmg without shaco (for dmg mf) or griff for the fcr, and belt you simply go arach for dmg and fcr ! gloves i would allways use magefist for the mana :). Amu you go for a 3pc 100l amu or smth you got enoggh resistance from hoto and zaka. And your merc use infy so nn to put in rbf facets just put in ist runes for mf or ber runes for dr
In this case he uses Firewall also, and I use Hydra, so Ormus helps both the Lightning, which is not useless damage (16,272 Dps with my setup against Hell Diablo).
There is so much wrong with this video.... 1. The FoH build revolves around the Holy Bolts, not the lightning damage. What kind of PvM build pushes so hard to max out damage on a single target ability with a cool down? 2. You are using lightning facets AND trying to get conviction to -150%. It's like you don't understand why that number is chosen in the first place. 3. Why in God's name would you advise people to up their HoZ? That's only (barely) necessary for a smiter. You're asking people to put almost an extra 100 (?) hard points in strength for nothing. Delete this. Do you even play D2?

If your playing this as a pure FOH caster it’s going to be slower than a hybrid build and you won’t complete game 😐
While I think it’s cool to use Trang’s, all you have to do is use 20 points into FOH, Holy Bolt, Blessed Hammer, Vigor, then put 1 point into all other wonders including just 1 in concentration and dump the rest of points into Blessed Aim. That clears the whole game and nothing is immune to you without needing a specific set.
But if you dig the mage type class yes tossing some firewall is dope while you can :)
Too focused on lite dmg. Magic damage is where it gets its power
Agree lite dam is shit I don't even build conviction waste of 20 points
@@dvdgamingthings289 It does 18,558 dps with conviction including the bolts, but 16,272 of that is lightning, I calculate all my damage based on Diablo. In essence you would be nerfing yourself without conviction. You can just go with using Holy Bolts I suppose, but for smite you lose a lot in higher player count games even if you have high Crushing Blow (it's based on the monster's base health at P1) but there is not a lot of room for crushing blow on a caster paladin. More damage from conviction comes in his case from the Firewall, and in the spec I want to use it comes from Hydras.
1 of the guys that doesn´t have any idea about Paladin XD
first you go hoto because of the fcr and resistance compared with enigma, you never go Ormus because it´s just boosting up your light dmg, but your holy bolts from foh does the dmg.
Totally failed build
There is so much wrong with this video....
1. The FoH build revolves around the Holy Bolts, not the lightning damage. What kind of PvM build pushes so hard to max out damage on a single target ability with a cool down?
2. You are using lightning facets AND trying to get conviction to -150%. It's like you don't understand why that number is chosen in the first place.
3. Why in God's name would you advise people to up their HoZ? That's only (barely) necessary for a smiter. You're asking people to put almost an extra 100 (?) hard points in strength for nothing.
Delete this. Do you even play D2?
