  • Come with us as we take the back tracks through to Australia's hottest town Marble Bar. This track had so much to offer and our old girl was really pushed to her limits when we had to drive through the sandiest tracks we've ever done!
    At the end of the track, we take the time to explore the small town of Marble Bar and all it has to offer.

    Man after my own heart, I set out to complete the lap back in 1992 with a camper and never finished. Yet your just legendary what you’ve accomplished with Siri and the Kombi. Maxine is such wonderful support she’s priceless and you wouldn’t be able to make this journey without each other’s full support. Hat’s off to you both and thanks for sharing what some would consider hum drum we’re along for the ride. All the best!

    Exciting drive guys,especially for this 75 year old! Well done! You took me back to when I was 7 years old,Dad & Mum had a old Ford Utility loaded up with the camping gear ,& us 4 younger kids,carrying down the old sand track to Hasting Point N.S.W. To go fishing for the holidays. So good on you both for the adventure.take care Elaine.

    Love these videos especially because they're in my country. My mother was one of the last people to be born in the old marble bar hospital back in 1967. Only a clinic today. Wish I was there now I could have took you guys out hunting emu and kangaroo maybe a bush turkey aswel

      I have been to. Marble Bar 4 Times in the last Two yers. I would like to know where you got the take away food you got because it was not available when I was there. Especially the Baine Marie video.

    Great episode guys when I travelled through that area in 1977 we walked into the Ironclad Hotel and it was segregated.. knocked my socks off

    There’s a difference between being negative and speaking up for what’s right. You did the right thing by mentioning it on the video because it’s important to say when people are inappropriate. Also good that you held your tongue in the moment. You need to pick your battles.

    We had a kombi camper back in the 70’s. Sold it to buy a house & a suburban lifestyle, would love to go back to those carefree days when we didn’t have a care in the world. Now we’re watching while in Isolation with Covid, you are giving us inspiration to get out of the rat race & get out there again🤔Cheers guys, keeping making great memories 😎

    Awesome content which has brought back many memories of my 1989 lap in a '73 green Kombi camper. Broome was a highlight and I'm planning to return in 2023 - sadly not in the original bus which was sold many years ago. Safe travels.

    It’s people like the ones you ran into in Marble Bar that are helping to kill off remote town locations. It’s a shame because I know first hand there are many people in the Pilbara that would give a arm and leg to help out others in need. Love your work 👍

    I did a recent stint in port Hedland and had to travel to marble bar several times for work. I installed the security system at the general store and road house. Every time I went to that place it was dead like a ghost town and the few people there were always weird. There’s a reason you don’t hear about the town very often. This video was bang on haha

    Got my first kombi in 1990 when it was 18 years old and me 20. Kept her for 5 years and had many adventures, she got totalled in an accident (not my fault) and written off and that was that.     Love your adventures guys and I really love that Combi. You sure take it to places that would test the best 4WD’s. Just to inform you that I recall Cloncurry in Qld is the highest recorded temperature in Aus but Marble Bar is the hottest for the longest period of time. Keep your adventures coming and, please, when your next on the Teletrack, let us know in advanced as I would love to see youse there one day. Onyas……

    So sad you guy's had a bad experience at the pub especially after that challenging track as there is some really cool stuff to see around Marble bar, the local swimming hole with all the Jasper going into the water and the colours are amazing when you splash it. Then Dooleena Gorge not far south on the way to Port Hedland.
    Keep up the great content guy's and we hope you get to see some more treasures.

    G'day folks. Calling in from across the ditch. There's a story about an old stockman who dies. He sees the devil and says to him. "Fair Crack of the whip mate, you don't scare me with ya stories of lakes of fire and heat. I come from Marble Bar."

    So so true; it is always worth get off the coast where all the bloody people are.
    What an amazing sky you had above .
    Imaging that sand river in flood ? What sight but we must never forget those rivers are prone the flash flooding with storm water that can come from many miles up stream . Not the place camp or even get bogged in ;)

    There's 2 places in Marble Bar that would have answered your pre Bar questions and possibly given you the low down on what to miss. The museum at the town hall(top of the hill) and the museum at the mine on the east side out of town. Really interesting history and specimens to check out.

    Hey mate, a Yank here. I've read about spinifex, and heard about it ,but have never seen it. Could you possibly get a shot of it and show us what it looks like?     Hi, nice to follow your journey through Australia I traveled around 1972-74 and worked in an iron mine in Shay Gap north of Marble Bar. It would be fun if you came there so I could see what it looks like now. Now I live in Sweden but long to return to the wilderness of Australia.

      We disassembled everything and now there’s nothing there
      People across the state bought the houses and they were trucked out

    I agree with your opinion on the pub the day I stopped for a few I didn't like the vibe or the fcken flys so I retreated back to the roadhouse booked a room n drank me fill. Next day Nullagine pub which was a lot better n friendlier than Marble bar won me over so much that anytime I got a chance I'd make the trip from auski roadhouse.

    Marble Bar got its name from the jasper. If you had gone to Chinaman's pool, there is a large bar of jasper that looks very much like marble when wet.

    I'm so disappointed your visit to the Pub was not a happy one. We were there a couple of months (July) ago and had dinner at the same pub with a lot of other people and it was OK, so I can't understand why you weren't treated the same. As a West Australian I am very sorry. I enjoy your videos so keep doing what you've doing.

    It's quite interesting because that area of Australia was once part of an inland sea that's how the mookaite jasper crystal formed

    Love all the episodes, shame the Marble Bar pub was a shit vibe, hopefully you guys don't come across too much more negative crap in ya travels, be aware when you hit the Newman area if ya go there, stay close to the Kombi 🤙🏽🤙🏽 look forward to the next, we live in the South West, you gotta hit up Brunswick when ya down this way, Big Tree Road area, free camping, beautiful area, plenty of little streams throughout the area, hills, mud, rutts, rock, has it all, also Collie has the Black Diamond Lake(no camping anymore) , Wellington Dam and Stockton Lake 👌🏽

    that is just the average temperatures. My understanding is the hottest temperatures recorded in Oz were at Marble Bar. You need a drone I reckon to help you see what yer heading into

    Hello again from the USA love your show and exploration I heard you say that you had a locker in your old tranny that blew up where did you get it from Who makes your tire deflation tool You guys be safe out there have fun

      The locker was from Weddle Industries, they make a mini locker for bus transmissions. The Tyre deflator is made by Camp Boss 👍🏻🤙🏻 thanks for watching 😄
