1599 is just too much, agreed. Should be able to do this for around 1000. For 1599 I can buy a second hand S2 or CE. And older CE models which exceed any SE, piezo or not.
Well you’re essentially paying for the piezo system. Seeing that custom 24 SEs are close to $1k, I get it. If you want a piezo system, it’s not bad but value wise, I’d say get a used CE24 or S2.
This will be my first PRS guitar! I'm a music producer professionally so not a guitarist but I'm excited to add a guitar with great variety of colors to my toolkit.
The Hollow Body has a clean sound much more warm and sounds more fat and dirty with the disto on. Also the larsen feedback comes faster when you play on high gain speakers… oh and you can’t split the mics… but nice guitar still! Just a different tool. The SE Custom 24 SH Piezo is more compact so!
Ugh! You're killing me. I had the HB II PIEZO SE and sold it as it just didn't feel or sound right to me. This guitar might be the ticket. Is this made at Coretek Indonesia?
Why do they do this to me, i just bought the nf3, the swamp ash and a core silver sky. Now I want more. Lol oh and dgt 15 and the hdrx 20 I bought those aswell. I guess I'm hooked.
I think PRS should make a proper take on the ES-335 type guitar. Similar size, not just a hollowed out custom 24s. Similar to what Ibanez is doing with their semi-hollows. Let’s do it Paul!
Those aren't lampsade knobs and flat tip on the blade switch on an SE are they?! You're killing me guys lol. Should have waited to comment since you covered it
Since the SE vsns of the CE24 debuted last year, I've been hoping PRS would do an SE vsn of the CE24 semi hollow. Very disappointed that they did this instead. Only because I believe the $1600 is too much and that price would be lower if they did a Bolto-on design and spared the unnecessary and unwanted piezo electronics.
Why does every cool new SE model that deviates from the typical CU, McCarty or signature model have to be on the 24 fret layout? The S2 line has started to go that way too. I've seen three or four SE models come out over the last few years that I would have snagged in minute if they had been 22s. This one is the most frustrating because if it were a 22, it would fit what I'm currently looking for perfectly. I had a CE22 years ago, which with the benefit of hindsight I see that besides the McCarty, it was hands down my favorite PRS. Over the years I've had a couple core CU24s that I got through trades that were offered to me. The first was where I realized I didn't like 24s and the second I flipped. I had a CU22 and an original 25" McCarty, and more SEs than I can remember. I like the CU22s, but I already have a McCarty 594 and an ES335 that fill the same role as a 22 would. The CEs bolt-on neck gives it that snap that you don't get with set necks, and the maple adds enough presence that gives it a unique sound compared to Custom. I've always found the CE line gets closest to the original goal of a guitar to fill the space between Gibson and Fender. The semi hollow body is the tipping point that makes this perfect. The inherit bigger midrange that semihollows produce married up with the CE's tone and the fact that I'm looking for a piezo for the first time in 30 years, and there's really nothing I can think of that would have better suit what I need. Alas…😮💨 *Props for not giving a sht and playing Stairway anyway. 👍
$2200 Canadian for an SE... I never thought I'd see the day, but then again a 10-top Tremonti is currently close to $7K... My Tremonti baritone prototype was only $6k.
I thought about buying it until I saw it was $1,600. It's definitely cool but without locking tuners or the American pickups at that price point I'll just buy another CE 24 used or a Gen 2 S2 with American pickups. The import pickups are not bad. But they do not hit like the American pickups. And at that price point it needs American pickups
I really hate the side of the neck in white on many SE models[ex. quilt, holcomb] . The only reason why I don't buy them, Its doesn't look nice in my eyes. Why don't you guys make it in dark color like the se custom.
FINAAAALLLLYYY this is perfect. Custom 24 +Piezo+Semihollow
And only $1,599 😂
Good god PRS, come back to earth

@@TheFlatPancakeTheory $899 is acceptable
And is what they will drop them to, when they sit…

Bryan is such a tasteful player - I love his demos.
Took long enough! I've been wanting 24 fret, piezo, trem, and a semi-hollow in a guitar forever!
Bryan - still the hardest working demo man in the business
@@ctbarker321 😆😅😂🤣
By now I own more SEs than I know what to do with, I just come here to fawn at Bryan Ewald's groovetastic playing
Always lovely to hear Mr Ewald jam. 👌
really great demo, (as always)
This will be my first PRS guitar! I'm a music producer professionally so not a guitarist but I'm excited to add a guitar with great variety of colors to my toolkit.
Impressed with how good the piezo sounds!
Brian…. love your playing and your guitars.
Fantastic review😮 very specific ❤❤ thanks for this video😊
Excellent guitar, features, demo and playing !!
Perfect for Opeth cover bands. 😁
THE PERFECT GUITAR FOR ME OMG
Nobody is better than Bryan than getting me to buy another guitar
Love it - well done PRS :)😍
What! Absolutely awesome 🤘
Please do another SE holiday sale this year and include this model. Would totally pick one up if so.
Almost a perfect guitar, I’d like this exact guitar with the option of a stop bar and TOM bridge
They're beautiful 😍
This is exactly what I’m looking for, might swap my hollow body piezo for this
What's the difference between the two? Why would you choose this one over Hollow Body II Piezo?
@@beautifulguitars3158 Hollowbody is hollow except for the bridge
this only has the sides hollow
Plus the extra 2 freta

WHAMMY BARRRRRR

The SE Custom 24 SH Piezo is more compact so!
The intro song could be on a Steven Wilson record. It's uncanny!
Mine is should be arriving Saturday!
can't wait to try this new one! Will you make a sonzera head version?
I will wait for a used one to come out and I will get it
Two words...LEFTHANDED PLEASE!!!
my next purchase!!!!
Ok, yup this is on the highly want list. I already own a Core, and American CE, and a few SE's. Thought I was good, then y'all went and did this...
แจ่มที่สุด❤😊

OK - let's go with a Special 22 Semi Hollow SE

Great model form PRS
But why is that there is not a Core model of this one
PRS CE24 semi-hallow body is what is missing!

It looks good, but is the piezo really useful or just a (very expensive) gimmick?
What pedal(s) are you using for that intro. I NEED that tone!
Jack Higgs u legend!
Hopefully a non semi hollow SE Custom 24 with a piezo is coming down the line, still getting this though.
amazing. Talking 'bout versatility. If you want to take it up a notch, use acoustic IR on the piezo output..👍👍

Fantastic- but why is this the only thin neck model option?
Because of economies of scale and keeping the price point in check they most likely had to produce the neck most people prefer
Why NO locking tuners?? We would ALL pay extra for that. Love the guitar though. If I get one it gets locking tuners and a PLEK job.

Oof. 1600 is a lot of money for an SE
Say it louder for the people in the back!! Crazy

absolutely insane price on these. can get an american fender pro II for the same price.
That, folks, is a ‘desert island guitar’ if I’ve ever seen or heard one.

How did David Spade aged so rapidly ?
Would have preferred an SE Studio with Piezo for HSS. But this will have to do.
Duuuuudeeeees quit taking all of my hard earned money
$1600 yall
Can't see anybody outside of prs cult to buy this expensive import model
