Features I like about the new Raddy:
Micro Sized.
Clear LCD Display.
Interesting App Control.
Simple Controls.
Weather Alert Mode.
Decent Shortwave Reception.
Recording Feature in the App.
396 Presets.
Remembers MP3 Track, and Track Position when Radio is Powered Off.
Clock/Alarm.
Evening MW Reception is Good.
Type C Rechargeable.
Flashlight.
SOS Flasher/Siren.
Four Mode MP3 Player.
Bluetooth.
Numeric Keypad Entry on App.
Excellent Speaker Audio.
BT/MP3 Stereo Sound on Headphones.
Support for up to 256GB Micro SD cards.
Above Average FM Reception.
Features that could be Added or Improved on:
Replaceable Battery.
Fix VHF tuning on Radio so it tunes 5kHz without the App. Currently Tunes in 25kHz steps.
FM Stereo.
Squelch for VHF band.
Dedicated Record Button on the Radio itself...Please add this!
Overall, the Raddy RF75A gets a "Maybe" Recommendation from me. The cost puts in the Sihaudon R-108 territory. Yes, the Raddy has many options, but you need the App to access them. If a Record Button is added to this Radio, then I see it selling well in the Marketplace.

The discount code doesnt seem to work?
@@vkanth2 It works with $65 or more on your order. If Raddy is reading this, maybe they will lower the threshold.
Hi. Could you tell me what song od that hyperspeed, please?
@@marcinmajda4266 From the RUclips Music Library.
@@todderbert I found it :) It's Hyperspeed - Eveningland
Thanks anyway 😅
So many features at a good price! I would never get bored with this one.
Excellent on AM!!! My favorite! I own this one and the analog model, this is super on AM reception
Recording it all is awesome too :)
Great revIew, I just bought one. How do I change the AM/MW step between 9khz and 10khz? Mine is stepping at 9hz and I am in the USA.
Just ordered this radio. Can’t wait for it!
Finally! The Radio ive been waiting for this video!
Hej Todderbert thanks for the review the Micro Raddy RF75A it seams very nice and it have nice features but I personally would also have liked to have a recording button directly on the radio take care Todderbert and have a nice day.
Well this is really some innovation when it come to radio. A first in radio I believe. At 75 yrs. Of age nothing like this before and it all works for a good price. Who would of thought this co. Could do it. As a radio man I say just wonderful. I will get one. NO DOUBT. MUCH THANKS FOR THE INFO. RON. Z. WA3090SWL.
little beast 📻. Cool comparison review.
You do good videos, one can make up one's mind with more confidence after watching :-)
Hello, I would like to see a review of the small Aiwa r-22 or Aiwa rs-44 radios, I really like your channel although it is hard for me to understand the language but I am learning a lot, thanks!
Just ordered one of these for my daughter. Her first SW radio. It arrives tomorrow so I wanted to be up to speed with this little gem's functions. Your video did the trick. Thanks!
It looks like fun, although I wish it had air band. I mean it can decode AM and the VHF receiver covers the frequencies. But I already have an R-108 which as you pointed out is similiar money and similar functions.
That’s the downside of this radio is no AM on the airband
Nice video 😊
I can understand wanting to be able to everything with the radio on the radio and not having to involve a cellphone. However, to manipulate the radio on a fully lit iPhone screen in the dark could be a lifesaver.
How come Everytime I save frequencies under Vhf mode they are all there and if I leave and go back to it they disappear
I really liked this radio
How good is it with picking up shortwave stations? The built in battery is a major negative.
Does light uneven distribution is so visible via naked eye?
Have you ever done a tour of your collection?
Nice and beautiful radio but I have a question for you
Can I navigate between folders if my memory card contains more than 1 folder
No, it is a basic player. The only upside is the app can display file names.
Nice little radio. I agree with you, I’m not sure about the app feature but it seems kind of cool. The non replaceable battery is probably a deal breaker for me. I have bought 2 HanRongDa HRD- 701’s after your heads up on the sale (thanks). They are fantastic radios for $22. I take 1 to work with me and people are amazed at the sound and functionality of the radio (the Bluetooth sounds great). Awesome review, Thanks for the channel. Take care.
HRD 701 improved version with SW Band selection is a much underappreciated radio. I own one since about three months and it is an amazing radio in reception, sound, usability and price.
Todderbert, thank you for your comprehensive tutorial radio app video in regards to the Raddy RF75A! I am like you are in reference to letting the radio itself do the labor and perhaps less intrigued what an app can do for a radio but still it's a very cool & quality new radio! Thanks much...
Retekess TR111 mi Raddy RF75A mı daha iyi? Siz hangisini seçerdiniz?
such a bunch of cute radios..😊 You should try the Muzen Wild mini
Nice, I do have the Muzen Cyber Cube: ruclips.net/video/pU-sXc1_2Uw/видео.html
Nice video. I tried the toddbert link discount but it would not accept it at checkout. Am I doing something wrong?
It said the discount was not applicable to the item in my cart.
I think the total has to be $65. I hope they lower that one day.
I agree it’s a little pricey considering what the app doesn’t do, and the fact that it’s basically a disposable product, unless the internal Li battery is easy to replace. I’d pay $40 for the coolness. Otherwise, I wanna see what they do with the bigger app controlled radio(s). It is a handy idea, though judging from USB analyzers and battery chargers with written-in-China apps, I don’t expect perfect operation or frequent updates.
Two real missed opportunities with the app: easy, view audio file names and directory structure on the big phone screen; harder, route radio audio to the phone!
@radellaf
I agree, if this had at least basic SSB mode (not USB/LSB) I'd be interested in it for the price. At over $50 bucks US not interested.
I posted yesterday but some guy did a comparison between this radio and the Tecsun 330 using the same antenna on both and this radio was horrible compared to it. Overloading, poor reception, background noise, the RF75a had it all. But it does pick up NOAA weather.
Hola amigo, ¿esta radio es la misma que la zws-787?
I have bone conduction Bluetooth headphones. Is there a pocket radio that can use them? Silly of me when BT is on these, it means receiving only thanks. I really enjoy your videos.
I think we are getting to BT audio out soon. RFI could be an issue with the transmitter inside the enclosure. But with this app, I didn't notice any RFI when running it on MW/SW.
@@todderbert watching your latest video reminded me that the wired headphones also act as the antenna so maybe BT is not so good after all?
Looking for the same thing for my bone conduction BT headphones, don't want to use my cellphone all the time
As for the app, iOS has no Radio, so its great. These are already down to $35. I wonder if the chipset has something in hiding, maybe an extra band blocked or a export mode with 200-550MHz FM. What a miracle it would be if they added PMR channels on these. But hey, recording MP3 in stereo, wow.
Hermosa radio tiene todo. Y tan pequeña 😀
Your reviews are MOST EXCELLENT !!!!
I was able to use the QR code to get the app. Thanks for doing the review. :)
finally getting the radio on sunday... even ordered a reel antenna that goes 23 FT long so im hoping i get some decent shortwave on it.
You should definitely do a video of the RF320. If you can.
My example was an early test model, waiting for the mass market release to review that one. They needed to make a few improvements, which they have been addressing.
NICE RADIO 📻 BUT WHAT HAPPENS IF THEY STOP HAVING A WORKING APP would not have a working parts of the radio
You lose Recording capability, and Direct Entering of Frequencies.
Hi guys please guys how long does the battery charge last on normal volume please ?
So it's got Japanese and OIRT FM bands as well.
Just got this radio. It is incredible.
These raddy rads do look like they are good quality.
I have three Raddy multifunction "camping" radios that are incredible. One was bad but they let me keep the great accessories including the three light bulbs, four 18650 batteries, and a 6v 5w glass solar panel that can be plugged into my Sangean PR-D4W and powers it perfectly! It functions as an off grid 19650 charger. The batteries are in parallel and one to four can power the radio or be charged. It has AM/FM/SW/BT and so much more.
I see it about the same size as my Belka radios, but they have Narrow band FM plus USB/LSB down to 10KHZ frequency display. However, does not cover the FM or WX, etc.
So while it a cool looking radio, no SSB no thanks.
It is so compact that it will fit in my daily backpack it would have been nice if it had a FM Stereo but you can't get everything in such a tiny radio.
We here in Europe don't use the weather alert and AM so i would prefer FM Stereo instead,,,
Does the RF750 sound louder than the RF75A?
Yes.
Is there an Apple app to control this radio or strictly Android? However, the ideo of combining both is remarkable and a game changer.
Search "Radio-CT" in the Apple App Store.
Thanks much. I wonder what the range of the app is but the idea of being able to remote control and record from the radio while keeping the radio in optimal spot. Getting this one soon.
This radio have fm stereo? (On headphones)
Yes.
Needs an amber LCD backlight :)
I got this radio this week. It's not DX machine, that's for sure, even with a longwire antenna. Honestly, it sucks for anything but locals. And the battery life for radio might be the worst I have ever seen in a radio, 9 hours they claim before it needs to be charged again. The plus side, it does sound darn good for it's size and it will pick up local fire dispatch on 154.010mhz here. I can't figure out if you can access the SD card directly via a USB but I can't seem to get it recognized on the computer, if the USB is charge only, boo hiss.
I just ordered a lightly used one of these same radios. I. Wanted to keep it in my everyday carry bag. And replace my retakis mini radio for this that has more features. I found mine with original box and accessories for $25 + shipping! From are friends at Fairpoint farms!!!! Thanks for the video I'm excited to get mine!
Hello, N5QDM here. I'm a radio nut and am compelled to buy another pocket SW. For less than one hundred bucks a high tech unit can be acquired. Which one of these little fellows have the best of what I need. SSB with the best sensitivity and what you would prefer. Thanks......Marc.
Tecsun PL-330, or the Sihuadon D-808.
@@todderbert Thanks, put in an offer 60 buck, ten for shipping..... for the Tecsun PL-330.
Got the Tecsun for 71buck including shipping, like I need another radio......yes I do. Thanks.
Got the Tecsun pl330, thanks, very nice little unit.@@todderbert
Mine seized up when playing the micro SD cared, rendering all controls inoperable. Once the battery drained down and was recharged it was fine, until it happened again. Returned it to Amazon for a replacement. The replacement does the same thing.
Have you tried other Micro SD cards? I, as a rule, don't like to load them up with too much.
@@todderbert Yes, I have both the RF75A & RF320. Have tried two different SD cards in both units. Both seize up. Have you heard from others with the same experience?
@@jdstites6260 No reports of this problem. Contact the company and see if they know about it. They may be able to give you advice. It should have good support because of its recording feature.
I'm now looking at the Lijiani rd239. Have you done a review of this unit?
@@jdstites6260 No, but it is not ready in my opinion. They are still updating it. The recording feature is working now, but the radio has too much noise on all the bands atm.
WEATHER ALERT works. Just like Midland and Eton.
If your listening to a long program that's broken down into several MP3 files, you the app to see which file is playing on the radio, which means you need your phone. If you need your phone, then whats the point of this radio? Just use your phone to play the MP3 files.
True if you only need a device for mp3s. This device does not rely on a cell tower for its reception of all the bands mentioned in the title. Most like it because of that.
Thanks @@todderbert
App looks to ONLY iphone not Ipad - yes/no?
Works on iPad with 16.4.1
I think Lidl is a thing in the US? Afaik they recently sold an icredible cheap SWDR C2. Now that would he fun to review what to expect from such a cheapo?
Keren pasti beli semoga harganya dibawah 500 ribu
6:12 "do not barbeque or blow it XD
Can’t decode AIRCRAFT BAND ??
The RF320 does, this little guy doesn't.
I See WX, i Click.
Turns out you actually can initiate recording without the app, by double-pressing the lock button.
I only discovered this because of clumsy fingers…
On this model? Mine must be an early version, since it does not record without using the App.
Mine appears to be the same model just branded differently, the “Zhiwhis ZWS-787.” The same radio seems to be sold under different names: Hanrongda HRD-787, Retekess TR111, Zhiwhis ZWS-787, and your Raddy RF75A. (The markings on front and back are marginally different too, though mostly the same info.)
Maybe the software/firmware versions are different? If you tap the gear icon in the app, what Radio Version does it give? Mine says V7.1.2.
@@palgotzoona The Zhiwhis model is the only one I know that lets you use the buttons to activate the recording feature....why the others didn't implement this is beyond me.
@@todderbert I agree, that's so weird that there'd be a difference like that.
Brak SSB:(
On the am band mine is set for 9 kc step, can't find any instructions anywhere on how to set to 10 kc step......,lousy chinglish instructions....,as usual.....
Sorry you are having that problem. My ZHIWIS version came preset with North America channel spacing
