    About Thuni
Thuni, meaning “New Festival,” is a celebration of the Chakhesang tribe's gratitude for a bountiful harvest and good health. Observed predominantly by the Razeba Range, the festival begins with the symbolic act of pushing down a pile of firewood (siikho) to signify peace, purity, and equity. It is a time for thanksgiving, cultural performances, and community bonding, reflecting the tribe's deep connection to nature and their faith.
