InfoPath forms are a great way to capture information from a user. They can be presented to the user as a web form right within a SharePoint site. User can fill out the form and it gets submitted to the form library in your site. The form library then has the capability to route that form for approval using a workflow. SharePoint Designer can be used to create that workflow. Workflows can also be modeled in Visio and then transferred to SharePoint Designer. All of this and more is demonstrated in this video. Great tutorial Asif. As a new convert to InfoPath and SharePoint this was one of the best workflow / InfoPath videos I have seen!
An excellent tutorial, Asif. Thank you very much for taking the time to do this.
fantastic video Asif, THANK YOU!. Had a question though, i want to use the infopath form outside of Sharepoint, meaning i would need a link so the requester can access the form without opening Sharepoint and through a submit button that saves/closes the form. Thank you for the video!!.
Wow... excellent tutorial. Is there a way to setup Submit conditionally. That is, if the SharePoint connection is working fine, then it will submit data to the SP List, if the Dataconnection is not working or available to the User, then the submission will be sent as an email to an email address? In other wods, how do we check to see if the SP DataConnection is working. I have a situation where not all users who will be using the form won't be members of the SP list already, unless I add them manually to SP before they use the form.
Added to my playlist. Very good presentation!
Great video. Is there a way to pause a workflow for manual selection of an employee's email address or some other variable and then continue the workflow?
Great tutorial, thank you.
One concern I have with sharepoint & InfoPath as a viable solution to form approval is the apparent disconnect between the tasks and the form that generated them. There seems to be nothing to ensure that the end user actually reviews the form before "approving" it.
Do you know of any way to make tasks read only, and then complete them from within the form itself?
Good video, wondering if you have an example with using a people picker control instead of having users manually type in their name. Also do you have any workflow examples showing how to provision a site?
Thanks!

for some reason "employee name" value does not show up in the list of choices when you click on the fx button.
How do you retrieve data from the database with a dynamic where clause? Lets say you want to pull data from the database depending on the value in a textbox.
Impressive... Ty for explaining in a really good way
I haven't found a workflow example that demonstrates how to wait for an event. Can you add a step that demonstrates how to wait for the mananger approval and then send an email to the requestor)?
Can I open this workflow in Visual Studio 2010 an change it ther if is necessary??
Hi Asif, bit thanks to u for thaïs very util vidéo

Hi Asif, Very Nice Tutorial. Thanks a lot for sharing the knowledge. !! I am working to setup a task which will have a due date and it should be escalated to a different user if it is not completed before the due date. It would be great if I can have you advise to accomplish it. Many Thanks,
