Becky, What a sweet project to remind you of your Mama, I can tell you love and miss her. And you’re memory board makeover with that purple flowered material oh be still my heart. Love them All! 💜💜💜
I went to a small church, too. I didn’t even think about using one of our old hymn books for a picture. What a great idea. I am going to find our old hymnal books. My dad and I used to sing for our church, he would play his guitar. This would be such a sweet memory for me. I haven’t sang since he died, in 1987, when I was 15. My singing voice went to heaven with him.
We both have such cherished memories of growing up in a small church. I would encourage you to sing again. You may find you feel a renewed closeness to your dad. Hugs to you, my friend!
Toni, thank you for your kind comments! My mother had a beautiful voice, and I can still remember her singing hymns while cooking dinner for the family. I’m glad you enjoyed this video and I appreciate you watching!
You have inspired me to go to my picture frame stash and get creative. I really liked the hymn upcycle. I think I'll do one for my Momma too, only I can't cut up a hymnal, so I'll make a copy of it first and stain it to get that vintage look. I would give anything in this world to be able to call my Momma. You just don't realize how very much you are going to miss her. Thank you!
Wait…what??? You only started this channel this year??? Wow! You are a natural at this!!! I thought for sure you’ve been doing this for a gazillion years! Keep up the great work!!! Thank for sharing your talents with us!
Everything is so pretty. I'll definitely be trying the flowers. My hubby is a Methodist pastor and many years ago we visited a little country church where he was the guest pastor. When we drove up and parked literally everyone rushed over when they saw I was with him. I thought what a friendly bunch. But they thought since I was the preacher's wife I could play the piano since they had been without a piano player for some time. I wish I could have but my musical skills where as a clarinet player in high school. So I laughed and told them if they had a clarinet I was their girl. Blessings
I loved all the frame updates! I'm truly inspired to dig up some of my old frames and remake them! The frame you made in memory of your mother was such a beautiful treasure! Thanks for sharing! 💟
You are so sweet and inspiring. I absolutely love how you take the time to show us how to do things. I also love the tribute pieces to your Mother! Thank you for the inspiration!
Thank you so much for your kind words Tami! I love crafting and showing others how to make cute things too. I’m happy you’re enjoying the tutorials and I appreciate you watching!
My dear lady, I cant not get enough of your stunning creations! Is there anything you cant do??? Im so very greatfull i found you fabulous channel. You did such a beautiful job on these frames, now I cant wait to go the thrift stores to grab me some frames to play with. I absolutely loved the wedding pic of you & your mom . You looked soooooo beautiful on your special day. God Bless you & your family. 💗🌸💗🌸💗
Awwww, JoyceAnn, you’re so sweet! My precious mom instilled a deep love of crafting and sewing in me. It’s such an honor to have people like you who appreciate handmade and heartfelt things. Thank you!
I have so many old frames, now I know what I am going to do with them. I love the blue one with the floral fabric. 😍😍😍 The pink frame is gorgeous, too!
Lol. I'm with you on starting a project and get distracted or frustrated and move on to something else. Now I'm 74 you'd think I'd outgrown that habit but dang it I still have half completed crafts in a closet. And like you I dug them out and decided to start giving them some love 😍 I too played piano in our small church and on Lay Sunday's was co-leader with 2 men. I laugh when I think about how many wrong notes I hit but was given accolades by the congregation anyway. I made my first dress at age 10 with a gathered skirt for our family reunion. It seems I like all crafts and have trouble landing on just one. My stage of handmade greeting cards began when lovely Covid appeared. As a past health care worker in our local hospital for 12 yrs I felt so much sympathy for them. So I purchased supplies from Amazon and started making cards for anyone who was working in a profession that put them in harm's way. I made and added handwritten messages for hospitals, firemen, law enforcement and anyone else. I contacted hospitals in my nearest large city, food banks etc. I would box up cards and send to the addresses they gave me. I made over 4000 cards as well as for health workers in my town of 5500. Being high risk I couldn't go back to work so felt maybe I could lift the spirits of some of the workers and let them know they were appreciated. Now I've become fascinated with junk journals, and redoing my home. I always upholstered with my mother so am digging out old scraps, thrifted furniture and frames, remodeling my kitchen to make it more easily accessible for me with my bad knee. Also had a ramp installed in laundry rm so I can maneuver the steps down from my kitchen. My vintage friends all plan on coming over and we all cook in my new kitchen when completed. In addition to helping Uber my 4 grandkids to their practices and games I make wreaths, banners, decor and quotes in frames for family and friends I want you to know how much I enjoy your channel. I'm a new subie and you make me feel young again and I found a connection to your show which I love. Thanks so much and keep up the great work. 💖😍
Vicki, I’m so glad you’re enjoying my channel and truly appreciate you being here! Creating 4000 cards for your community is a graciously amazing accomplishment, and I’m sure they were treasured by each recipient. I too have gone down the junk journal rabbit hole and find it the perfect crafting solution for my scraps. I enjoy an abundance of crafts, but haven’t tried card making. My sister is an avid card maker. I should have her do a guest spot on my channel to create a few simple cards for us. Aside from crafting, cooking is my other passion. We rarely dine out, as I enjoy preparing fresh meals daily. It’s such a pleasure chatting with you, Vicki!
These all are gorgeous but the one in remembrance of you Mom is my favorite! I am going to have to try one in remembrance of my Mom. She played the piano for our church!
Hello Prisilla! I miss my precious momma, and love displaying items to bring happy thoughts of her. Enjoy crafting memories of your abuela! Stay safe, I see y’all are having severe weather in Texas!
I did a white fancy frame . Mine I used burlap to make a rosette and used a fancy lil rhinestone button in the center. I was going to sell it but I liked it so much I had to keep it. Hanging on my wall. Absolutely love the message board.
Thank you, Margaret; I’m sure your fancy frame is beautiful! I’m going to have to get my Etsy shop going again, because I can’t keep everything I make. But it’s hard when you want it all! 😃
