    New to rucking and I appreciate this video! Was the hydration pack enough or were there water and juices at the check points?

      It is in the city, so you can stop at a store anytime you want/need anything.

    Amazing job out there. congrats. is there a time limit? also what if you show up without a team?

    • @Rucking
      @Rucking  2 года назад +4

      20 hour limit. They used to require you to be on a team, but now allow solo.

    Well done for finishing! Hope RJ is ok. We are doing the Normandy 50 miler next week. Any suggestions to stave off cramping and how to push through the mental 'wall'?

      RJ is great. As for staving off cramps, hydration and salts/electrolytes are big. I use "salt stick" tabs, but there are a hundred different brands out there. Just find one that works for you (test before event). As for the mental wall... that's usually individual for each person. I'd suggest making sure you know what helps your team. Do they need encouragement, to be left alone, to be yelled at, to be challenged, whenever they hit the wall. For me, I just have the mantra "just do work" and "this is what you do" whenever I'm down. But, it is different for everyone. That said, I have the feeling that Normandy will provide more than enough motivation to push on when you hit the wall ;)

    thanks for this video... Would you adjust your sleep where in the days approaching the event , you would adjust your body where it'll sleep during the day this way you're fully awake at the start of the event at 9pm?

    This is awesome!!💪🏽 I'll be doing the 26.2 in Dallas,TX. Did you guys incorporate running at any point to meet time?

      No. We started fast and ended slow. Not by plan, but by reality.

    Is there anything about your gear that you would have done differently? Anything that you brought that you wish you hadn’t, or wish you had brought that you didn’t?

      Think it was pretty spot on. I did a second 50-miler and packed almost the same. It was a colder one, so added gloves and warm hat. I could have ditched extra socks. I've become a believer that changing socks usually works out for the worse. I also carry smaller tape and chafe cream. You can get both in "single" sizes. Cuts down a little.

      @@Rucking Thanks. I’m new to this, so for now I am just eyeing a 12-miler first, but the thought of an eventual 50-miler is enticing.
