- In this video I rig out my Hobie iTrek 11 inflatable kayak with Hrails for tournament fishing! I love this kayak for river smallmouth fishing, but it needed a bit of a DIY project to make it tourney ready. My goal was to make this kayak more riggable (gear track), to be able to add an anchor and anchor wizard, and to help stop the fish from flopping off of the kayak when they are on the board. I’d say mission accomplished!
I’ve listed all of the products below to help you with this project. If you have any questions about this project or about the iTrek, I’m happy to answer in the comments!

Great paddleboard looks nice
Fun and useful video. You didn't put the link to buy the H rail I didn’t find it
And. I didn’t find the RAILBLAZA Adaptor Kit on your ling and please which box size it fit ont this kayak
Thank you for making this video! I want to install the H-Rails on a itrek 14. Should I buy the PA14 H-Rails to make this work?
Thanks for this video. I recently got an Itrek 11 and will be doing some rigging. Do you still have this boat? Complaints? Suggestions? How are these pieces (the rails and anchor) working out? Anywhere we can see photos of the finished version?
@@guylenoir9310 man I still rock the iTrek and the rails are just as good as day 1! I don’t use the anchor much, I think I would have more if it was off the bow. The rail kind of rocks a bit when winching in the anchor, but hasn’t budged or peeled pre anything. I also have left the iTrek inflated during the fishing season for the last 3 years in my garage. No issues. As far as changes . If you want to do an anchor wizard, I would probably just do a rail on one side for accessories, and the side with the anchor don’t do a rail and just do the switchpad. Also the yak attack track packs are your friend for holding pliers, lures you untie, plastics etc.
Great vid! Thanks for making it. Looking into an iTrek 11 for pan fishing in the Louisiana bayous and swamps. How is yours holding up?
Appreciate it man! I haven’t gotten any holes yet, and have had zero issues. A couple of my buddies have gotten pin holes from fish fins, but they they are easy to patch and leak so slow that you can usually keep fishing all day and hardly notice a difference in pressure
Hows the kayak and its accessories still? Add anything new? Everything still working good?
Nice video, any ideas on how to avoid fish punctures?
I haven't gotten a single one yet. i just dont let the fish flop around on the deck. I usually net most fish to avoid them flopping around on the deck, because that seems to be when people are getting punctures.
Wow! Really nice detailed video on adding removable rails to the Itek 11 along with the parts list. I just ordered all the components needed for the rails.. However. I just noticed that you listed flat head machine screws rather than pan head screws that would be required for the mount?? Just ordered the correct s.s. pinhead from Amazon and will be returning the flathead when delivered. Exactly where did you position the glued mount from the fill port? Looks like about 1". Any problems folding and storing in the bag with the rails removed?
Thanks again for the video and parts list. Still awaiting my Itek 11. Just asked if I can update to the Mirage 180 drive before shipping.
Thanks! I’m glad it helped you out. I think either would work, but I believe I used pan head, sorry about that. About an inch or two in front of the fill port, and it doesn’t effect folding at all!
Ok. Just received my Hobie Mirage Itek 11 and all the components for adding the H rails. 3 questions: 1. Did you let the adhesive 24 hour cure in the inflated (rounded) position or deflated flat position? 2. Can you still pack all the contents into the travel bag, except for the rails? 3. How are the bonded rail mounts holding up after several months of being continously inflated and deflated ? I am an 82 yr old angler that needs all the help that he can get! Again, thanks for the informative video.
@@anglerron that’s great your still getting out on the water! I let the glue cure while inflated. I haven’t had any issues packing the bag since adding the hrails. I’ve probably fished about 25 times since the install, and don’t have any noticeable wear and tear, and the pads are staying on great.
@@anglerron I would definitely just make sure to apply pressure to each pad during the install, and I’d recommend duct taping them down to cure. You can see I did it in the video but I don’t think I talked much about ut
@@KayakCrave A Big "Thank You" for your help and follow-up.
is there specific H rails for the itrek 11or just universal models
At the time when I did this project it was the hrails that they sold for the Hobie Lynx. Those have track built into them. They don’t make any for the iTrek
