The 2022 US Open runs from August 23 - September 11 in New York City at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The tournament takes place for the 142nd time and is the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year. Daniil Medvedev is the men’s singles reigning champion and Emma Raducanu is the women’s singles reigning champion. Last year, both players claimed their first Grand Slam title, with 18-year-old Raducanu becoming the first-ever qualifier to achieve the feat. This year’s tournament is set to feature a range of greats and future stars looking to add to their records and cement their place in tennis history. Agree. Imo Rune need more coaching on being aggressive and controlling the match. He is too defensive standing far behind the line. He should learn from Ruud who have also improved his offensive game last 12-18 months.

Rune seems to create his own distractions during matches and it ruins his own game. I swear this guy could walk into an empty room and still find a way to start an argument with the floor.
I say let him keep making that mistake. He should eventually learn, right? I mean, the definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing over and over again and expect different results

Norrie outsteadied Rune. Norrie makes almost all of the routine shots.
Come on Cam! I wonder how many people have massively underestimated him because his game is not flashy.
I used to hate on his game but you kinda have to respect a guy that has this much success while being outgunned by almost all his opponents
His mental strength, speed and fitness are his flashy game. I'll take that.
I think there's a difference between underestimate and under appreciate. I don't really like watching him because his game isn't flashy. But I'm filled with dread when my favorite player is about to play him.
Cam probably doesn't get as much love as he deserves. But he definitely gets as much fear as he deserves haha

If you don’t understand why Norrie does wel, that point that got him the second set is exactly why. The length in the court and bounce on his forehand vs his backhand makes him hard to play

@@LuckyCrixon for me, it comes down to Rublev, if he’s able to fire then it will be tough, Norries level shouldn’t go up and down too much. Norrie has also not lost a set so should be fresh whereas Rublev had a rough last round with Shapo. If Norrie can just use his forehand to put it onto Rublevs backhand then it should be a 4 set win for Norrie

Third set was one-way traffic. Rune stayed afloat in first two sets and it took one break to decide them.

Behavioral issues aside, Holger certainly has a ton of talent, but he needs to learn how to play the slams better. Norrie is experienced and won't crumble.
Rune doesn't hit hard enough to win on this surface. He hits about as hard as Simona Halep.
Watch again, his hard hits are very hard. Norrie is so fit he gets everything that is not a clean winner, so most try to blow him off the court to win.
