blessed maggers ๐
you're the best Magger ๐๐ป
I got destroyed in pre-chat lmao but I'm just trolling, "clips are for hair guys"
What was their counter agrument, "mags are for bald guys"~?
@@DianaProudmoore no.. mags are those books that you read when you get your hair done
"Clips are what civvies use in their har"
Clips are for watching, Magazines are for reading. C'mon guys.
Instructions unclear, proceed to read clip subtitles
*Shes so adorable i love biboo*
Gotta just call them clipazines to be universal.

Tl;dr - Strictly speaking, a magazine is the part of most guns that holds spare bullets not immediately in line to be fired. And strictly speaking, clips are devices separate from the gun that gather bullets into neat, uniform packages (for transport, carrying, etc.). Don't feel bad if you mix up the terms; they're often used interchangeably nowadays.
Historically, gun magazines were confined to the body of the gun ("internal magazine"). And historically, clips were made of cheap folded sheet metal meant to be disposable. Clips could feed bullets into gun magazines, but clips themselves were rarely part of a gun's operation.
When external magazines became a thing, they started to encroach on the space that clips typically occupied. People would carry multiple external magazines at a time, filled with bullets, etc. Around-ish the same time period, the M1 Garand in particular used "en bloc" clips that, while designed to be basically the same as other clips, people treated a lot like modern magazines: reusable, holding a fairly substantial amount of bullets at a time (8), it would slot into the body of the M1 Garand and would eject when empty, etc.
Since the functions of both devices began to overlap, people understandably started using the two terms interchangeably. Snooty gun enthusiasts like to have a laugh at "normies" getting the terminology "wrong," but really, in modern times, it's mostly up to context clues to figure out what's being talked about. In this context, ie video games where traditional clips are rarely interacted with, an "extended clip" is that thing what puts the bullets in the gun but bigger now.
Devs... www
It's like asking an Italian about pasta, or a Quebecois about poutine, asking Americans anything about guns just brings out the passions.
I am stick culture shock found out every house has a gun in they house even for housewife.
I'm shocked they sell guns in freaking super markets. It's such a whiplash to me considering how puritan american still are.
Well, it is a bit controversial, but it's easy to tell the difference between clips and mag. Some COD players can't tell the difference, I blame devs for it, they mislead people into thinking it is a clip
That one guy in the pre-chat debate the clip didn't go too well ๐คฃ
Now i cant help but think of a parody game that takes the clip/mag stuff overly literal:
"Congrats, you spent 70 perks on Extended Clip.... shame you didn't buy the Extended Mag, so it was kind of a waste!"
alt: "Congrats, you got the Extended Mag... now ya got half an empty box sitting under your gun."
"Honest question, I was told that this was a troll question"
pebbles proceed to fall to that troll
Everyone saw that one Charlie clip now everyone is a gun expert. ๐ฝโพ๏ธ
Actually it's Charlie's mag โ๐ค
The one who told her to ask that question, only wanted to watch the world burn and the Pebbles go crazy ๐
Honestly, I'm right there with them ๐คฃThis was hilarious and despite knowing the difference between the two, in the common vernacular both words have essentially become interchangeable. No modern guns use clips, though there are clips that are used to load magazines used by the military. But 99% of the time you're going to be talking about a magazine.
As someone who happens to be well educated on guns, I never really understood why so many people in the gun community get so bent out of shape over these terms. Is _clip_ technically the wrong term? Yeah. However, there's not a single person who isn't going to know what you mean when you call a _magazine_ a _clip_ . It's so common, it could just be seen as a colloquial term to mean the same thing; just like how we say we're going to "film" something with our phone even though there's no actual film involved, or how we call all adhesive bandages "band-aids" even though Band-Aid is a brand name.
its because the are completly different things and the people who most often use these terms wrong are by people who want to ban firearms. when you call a magazine a clip it shows a complete lack of knowledge reguarding firearms
It definitely feels like people just want to flex or be pedantic when they are actually upset over it. I'm imagining if someone got just as upset over something like using credit card when you meant debit card.
@@roadkillpotato3468 I don't know if I'd say _completely_ different; they usually serve a similar function. I get your point about the lack of knowledge issue though, and there are certain terms where making the correct distinctions is very important, I just don't personally think that this is one of them. If we make a big deal over your average joe mixing up something relatively trivial like clips vs mags, I think it could detract from the more important discussions such as when we criticize the media/politicians when they call an AR15 a machine gun.
@@JudsonRadio one is is a metal strip and one is a box that is spring loaded. M1 Garand vs an AR-15 magazine. A clip is goes completely into he rifle while a magazine attaches to the bottom of the rifle. The ping sound you get from the M1 Garand comes from the clip ejecting. Those " average joes" are the ones voting for politicians that are anti-gun or are future voters.

I love how you can say "ask this it'll make people mad" and she'll actually do it, but I had no idea THE GAME messed up the terminology too lmao
Got way more bang for my shitpost than I ever imagined
Games, movies and TV have been mixing up mags and clips for *years* and has contributed to why people are still insisting the wrong terminology is the correct one.
To be fair, getting gun terms wrong in fiction is extremely common, especially when the author, well, isn't familiar with guns. I remember one guy who described the hammer of a pistol wrongly and was sent many very angry letters by his fans, after which he made sure to correct himself in all later descriptions of the gun.
The absolute worst I've seen is still Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 trailer, where they showed a sniper firing the entire bullet including the casing
Its maggin time.

Nooo!! Biboo noo!! You might trigger some people... Devil trigger? xD
Should we start to call clippers as maggers now... Oh wai-
Lots of people in the movie and games industry don't know a damn thing about guns, and you get these errors.
But it's not even consistent here lol
This clip truly was extended because of the extended clip.
I know the difference, but I don't think I could explain it in words. Definitely easier with pictures.
Ah sh*t here we go again ๐
I didn't know difference between mag and clip. Now I know because it was taught to me by a six month old baby!!๐ฆ๐ ๐ฆ๐คฃ๐ญ๐คฃ.
Pain, peko. ๐
Mags are basically small boxes that house your ammo. Clips are short videos online taken from longer streams.
Clips are what you use to load the default medic gun in Battlefield 1! ๐ So satisfying when loading 2 clips. โบ๏ธ
the clip is extended, indeed.
Mag is a type reading material. Like books.
She totally knows lol
Stripper clips are to load mags or old school rifles.

Call of Spunkgargleweewee is not conducive to proper gun knowledge. It is, however, conducive to trolling about gun knowledge. Biboo knows this now.l, and Matsuri help us.
This reminds me of how the Bastard carbine in Metro 2033 actually feeds off of a clip, not a magazine. It's boxy, but it has no springs, so it's a clip.
be careful now bibs
you might summon the youtube jesus

Firearm terminology will always confuse me. But, I try because they are cool machines....
Ah yes the whole magazine and clip ordeal. Last time a goofy individual called a magazine a clip. He was roasted by a man with +1000 aura

So you can advertise that you don't know anything about guns?
Biboo Should Ask Charlie he explains it to Sneako
If clippers put themselves in a cardboard box, do they become maggers?
I always thought it the same thing just has different name like D!ck vs Pen!s or something like that.

Itโs nice that she probably helped thousands of people know the difference with this little bit of trolling. Itโs one of the most common misconceptions in the English language
Saw charlies name on the chat lol
Waitโฆthey say clip in BO2?! Thatโs so ridiculous cause in MW2 they say Extended Mag.
They are called clippers, not maggers!
Whats a clip but a very short vod
Don't let Charlie see this
Pebblez0
this game takes place in the far flung future of 2025 where the term has been changed to clip, poor pebbles they just donโt understand time travel ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
:D
ask the guy that looks like asmongold
as a gun nut, i can tell you yes there is a difference. a magazine is detachable from the firearm. it is a metal box that is spring loaded and inserted into the bottom of a firearm. a clip is a metal strip that holds bullets and is then inserted into the firearms action where there is an internal magazine. think of the M1 Garand. Never trust call of duty for information on guns. the games are made by people who have never touched a firearm.
What happened to "Ask Nerissa"?
So risakura is clippers or magers??
Clips are for machine guns mags are for assault rifles
Am i the only one who don't get it?
So basically they're the same thing.
Last I knew, Battlefield got it right but COD doesn't. Battlefield isn't exactly a "mil-sim" or whatever, but it's like 5-10% moreso than COD. Cod is one of the most arcade-y/least authentic in the genre. And presumably stuff like ARMA is even better. Because Battlefield is only like 1 step away from COD on the scale. (Just don't want the mil-sim fans to think I'm praising BF too much when it's still pretty far from actual authenticity. Not that anyone is gonna read my comment, anyway lmao)
Oh hey, I finally made it in!
