The power cord could use some rubber gromet, perhaps.

Whoopsies. Your rebuild and checkin intro says RCA 950R . Instead it should say EICO 950B. Great restore job BTW!

A little off topic but you might be able to help. I have a Wavetek Model 112 Sig Gen the manual says 1966. It has several PCB's mounted vertically into a single horizontal PCB a motherboard if you like, the connectors on the PCB are soldered in and they are gold and a kind of 'U' shape and the mating half on the motherboard are the same but at 90 degrees so the 2 parts mate like a 'scissor' action. I need a riser card in order to do any work on the unit but I can't find anywhere to get the connectors. If I could find these pins I could make my own riser. Do you have any thoughts please ? Also the problem I have with the waveform (all of them) is a large, thin spike on the top and bottom of the waveforms one going more positive and one going more negative and if I invert the waveform with the selector switch the spikes change and both point to ground or the positive goes less positive and Neg more Pos ! again any thoughts would be much appreciated....cheers. Great video !!

Did you check the capacitors you took out with the refurbished unit? I have the same unit and am about to tear into it and this occurred to me just now lol. Thanks for the video, you did a terrific job! I don't suppose this is worth putting a fuse modification into....but I'm tempted! Safety first of course. I just went into the unit and found a long human hair inside, about 8 inches long, gray on one end and brown on the other. Been doing this for decades and have never seen one. I think this was a kit because there is no inspected by stamp.

Fusing is always good. I did not test the caps but I should have! I did a video on ESR recently the axiel cap in the thumbnail is was shipped in when I tried to do the 650 Wvdc it is HUGE.

@@ZenwizardStudios LOL. I liked the part in your video where you say something like "let's see if it smokes". I am thinking the same whenever I go to power up a repair. That's why I used a variac and built a fused current meter after one did! the caps I take out will check out as being fine I am sure....

I do need to do a video on the variac / dim bulb/ power meter set up. I am using one as well just cant use it on the switchers.

I find that alcohol gets me into places where I shouldn’t be a lot quicker than screwdriver.
