Dear brothers and sisters, It is not proven in any marfoo’ hadeeth that Ismaa’eel (peace be upon him) was buried in this Hijr, or that Haajar was buried in it. But there are mawqoof reports with weak isnaads which may be understood as meaning that the grave of Ismaa’eel is inside the Hijr. However these are not correct because as a Muslim and researchers on the science of hadith we learn that the isnaads stipulate the validity of hadiths or reports. We as Muslims cannot come to a conclusion on anything if that conclusion contradicts the Qur'an or sahih hadith. As a Muslim you should ask yourself a logical question. Allah forbids us to worship graves, Allah forgive us to pray at graves and there are hadith with verify this substantially. So understanding this, why would Allah Azwajal command us to do tawaaf around the Kaaba, pray facing it if there was a grave under it?
