Hi, I am very new to this game. I have a board and have watched numerous videos but some people are not as good as other explaining the rules of the game. Can you clarify the function and use of the red piece? It's a beautiful game. So much opportunity for strategy. I love watching but would rather play and then teach my friends to play! Thank you in advance if you can take the time for a novice.
@@bigdaddy3k It's called the Queen and you get extra points if you're the one to sink it, but you must sink one of your own pieces immediately afterwards or it doesn't count. Also, you must win that board to get those points. Rules vary, but in this game it was worth 3 points.
Just found this... Wow... that little extra "strategy" at 24:08 is pretty stunning. Glad the ref was on his toes. Did the opponent even notice what he tried there?
Excellent game both played so well and at the end Denish did made wonderful shorts. What I feel both players did not give any hard time to each others. However nice game was....

Oh my god!! Did anyone notice how Anil tricked to place a white coin on the board when he had double due and he was asking for his striker? The man gave his striker back but Anil secretly placed a white coin on the board. It was almost unnoticeable because his hand was over the board. Luckily he was told to put back the coin in the pocket. What a cheating!!!
In fact this rule for carrom really sucks. All tokens behind the line should not be played directly. The stricker cannot b played backwards. All token behind the line should be played with either rebounds or back shots. Then it becomes a real game.
Realy folks, Those "behind the line shots" should be encouraged. They make you think, about placement, take and block, gather and foil. And makes you improve your skills of multi-rebound and drop in case the above are against you. Go figure and open your mind to collision physics. :). Without that flexibility it makes the game boring. Stright shots, simple rules and no balls to visualize your shots your game or your play.

And also the exact measurement of the playing surface. The diameter of the four corners . The start line distance from the border and the length of the starter lines. And the middle circular diameter. And the diameter of the striker coin , thickness and weight and the same for the play coins ( White & Black ). What kind of wood is used to make the black , red and white coins , for good quality. And some more specs on the plywood used , thickness and any other classification specs. How much the whole board should ideally weigh for good quality construction. What varnish and wood oil is used . What kind of color material is used to draw the lines and what no.s of sanding paper used. What is the top coating used on the playing surface. And is there a measurement of the boards slipperiness. ? Is there an official guideline of this indoor board game/sport. ? Happy new year 2023 to all carrom enthusiasts .
