  • Interview with Robert L. Fowler of Omaha, Nebraska, former Platoon Sergeant of 2nd Platoon, Company L, 134th Infantry Regiment, 35th Infantry Division in WWII. In it he discusses his pre-warservice in the Nebraska National Guard, training and preparations for combat in Europe, and the fight at St. Lo, France. It was conducted June 29, 1995 by Charles R. Gentile, nephew of Staff Sergeant Charles Paul Gentile, Company L, 134th Infantry Regiment, 35th Infantry Division, who was killed in action July 16, 1944, near Emelie, Normandy, France.

    My grandfather, James Charles Schirkofsky(Company M, 3rd Battalion, 134th Infantry Regiment, 35th Infantry Division "Santa) was killed at St. Lo on July 30th 1944. He came from Grand Island Nebraska.

    I am the grandson of John Grussing Tsgt 134th medical detachment out of Beatrice, NE. I wonder if this soldier knew him?

      Will be in touch. You know also I see videos of the 134th on RUclips. No audio, almost like old home movies. I think there are about 7 or 9 parts.

    My neighbors grandfather was in this group,Joseph Shimoskie Jr. KIA on march 24th 1945,he is interned in Belgium. Anyone know of him, or where the group was on that day of March 24th1945?
