It was 93° here today in Las Vegas, Nevada 🥵. I absolutely LOOOOOVE heavy rain or any kind of rain, thunder & lightening is the best. Great video, tfs💕
Beautiful pieces love them all. My favorite was the lady, had to go back to see how you did the tip of the envelope mine always turns out the opposite direction lol 😂 but I got it now!! Thanks for sharing sharing these cute nuggets of ephemera 🤗.
Hi Tina, try stamping you’re beautiful postcard stamp with a couple of sheets of craft foam underneath your paper, it comes out better on your book pages because of the softness where the stamp can really sink in, whereas when you stamped on your coffee dyed paper it only had the glass underneath. Hope that helps as it would be a pity not to get the best out of that beautiful image
These pieces are so Pretty Tina. have a sponge platform from my card making days, as cards need to have a perfect stamp impression. It will help you get a better impression from this stamp but to be honest I don’t always use mine in my journals, I never seem to have it at hand when I’m videoing as I haven’t planned ahead exactly what I’m doing and what I will need beforehand. it is worth trying putting something underneath. I have bought a wax seal set but not used it yet but do intend to practice and make some seals ready to use.
Large stamps are tricky to get an even impression, while you are standing up you can put more pressure in the center of the stamp, helpful tip, try it next time 💗... I love your art, thank you💗💗💗👏🏼‼️
Your stamp came out better on the book page because it was thicker and more cushioned. You need to put some thing like some book pages or a foam mat under when you’re stamping something to give it a little bit of cushion. Also, Staz On probably isn’t the best ink for stamping on paper, it’s better for stamping on non-porous surfaces.
Tina, for the post card of a bird rubber stamp, try to put behind the dyed paper several pieces of book text so the stamp has some cushion to leave its impression.
Great projects, some stamps don’t work well with certain inks, try using that big stamp with other inks and try stamping it with some cushioning underneath... I have the same issues with a few of my block stamps . Oh these things are set to try us 😂 tfs
Just a hint for you...put the book under your paper for more cushioning. It makes those stubborn stamps work better. Hopefully it will work on that bird stamp and sometimes your ink pad may need reinking. Good luck with those stubborn stamps.
I have used colored glue sticks and stamp a rubber stamp on top. I haven't used them since forever. You could stamp the bird again and layer it over the bird that didn't stamp all the way. Try putting the paper on top of the stamp and take either push the paper down or press with another wood block. You will still be able to use the stamp. ❤❤❤
Hi Tina, I love these pieces!! They are so pretty, especially the two booklet ones. I got to watch this morning because we were heading down to Florida yesterday to see our. We Grandson and we had truck problems and had to turn around and go back home. The compressor went in my truck. We were 3 1/2 hours down. So our mechanic is fixing the truck this morning and we are heading out this afternoon. The only plus side to this is I was able to have my tea and watch your video. Yay!! Hugs 🤗
Have u tried a softer surface ? I use a flexible piece of foam that came in a package. It’s about 1/2 to 3/4 inches thick. Just enough to give a little when I push down in the stamp.
I'm not sure if this helps for your rubber stamps but with silicone ones, rubbing gently with sandpaper can improve the impression. It just seems to help creative a more receptive surface for the ink 💖
Couldn't you just take a lighter to the bottom of the seal and heat up a stick to let it drop a few drops to make it stick? Just an idea, I've never used it before.
I like to keep a spare mouse pad handy for rubber stamps.... and I have a small glass cutting mat (came with my Slice machine) for acryllic/clear stamps. Since they are small, I can use either of these to slip between the pages of journals if I decide I want to stamp after I've bound them. Works pretty much every time : )
Hi Tina.,I was wondering how you food color your dollies?,do you just put all if them in a color bath?do you brush the color on them,or do you dip them in one at a time?,very curious because they are so fragile?thanks for a great vid.😊
a clean stamp gives the best impressions. Ink build up will stop your stamp from printing clearly, Just use a bit of rubbing alcohol or even a lysol wipe. And put a soft surface under it.
Tina, you make it look so easy to make these lovely pieces. I hope that one day I can be as creative as you as it doesn't come naturally to me. Thanx for the inspiration as always! I look forward everyday to something new or at least new to me.
I saw a tutorial of wax seals made from glue sticks and then various powders added after to color them. They looked really great and then were adhered with glue stick afterward.
Ooh love the wax seal kit! You could try warming your stamp up a bit - it might help get a better impression. Or put something underneath the page before you stamp (like the scrap book you used to test it beforehand). 😀
Sealing wax!! Oh my goodies, back to the '70s I go. I've never seen that bowl/spoon thingie, I just used to melt and drip the wax right onto the envelope then stamp it. Gotta say, I've been seeing these sealing wax things here and there and, at least til now, have been able to walk away, but after seeing how good your piece turned out I may have to give in. Thanks for the memories! With love from the Southern California desert,MK ❤☀️🌵
Good Morning Tina 🌞... What a great project, really enjoyed watching this video.. they all turned great! These will be very useful. Thanks for sharing and giving me inspiration this morning, I was feeling a little sluggish and had a hard time getting motivated... Have a wonderful day 😘
Have you tried cleaning that stamp with rubbing alcohol? It's a pretty stamp. Maybe it has gotten wavy over the years.. Then I would warm it up with a hairdryer and place it between two glass panes. Maybe then it will even out. But this is just a guess. Don't hit me, if this fails...
Two things -- 1) if the stamp doesn't print in the middle, rub it up agaist the edge of your desk and make like a curve. I have one I need to do that with. 2) please do an Instagram challenge #Showmeyourmessyartdesk and #Shabbydabbydodah! I bet you''ll be surprised how many of us are messy craters.
I make my extra wax seals on waxed paper and let them sit to cool off completely. Them you peel them off the wax paper to put them away. Some of the waxed paper stays on the back of the seal and you can use Fabri Tack or Art Glitter. Glue to glue them on your project. Do 15 or so ahead and you will have them ready to use. Yea, they are fun to use, but a pain to get out and make everytime you want to use them.
How funny, my 11 year old grandson and I just made a bunch of wax seals for him to use on letters and in his junk journal. I hadn't thought about what kind d of glue he will use to attach them.....
Put a pad under the paper then stamp. Use darker ink. Try both. But if that does not work then place the stamp upside down, ink, then place the paper and use your hands to make contact. Good luck.
Strange take the tiny flower away. You ALWAYS do it girly. You think you are daring but lol you do always add it that little bit you cant make up your mind about. And usually it does look good in the end
Great projects. I was wondering if your post card stamp worked better on the book page because it had a little padding behind it from the other book pages. Maybe experiment a little with something behind what you're stamping for a little (just a little)cushion and see if it works better. TFS 🙂
Thank you, Tina, what a great time I had with you tonight. And just when I thought, a walk in early am and pm John is helping me with something .. I pray for healing
I’d love anything made from the remnants laying around on YOUR desk!
What wonderful ephemera. You are such a great artist Tina. Love your work. TFS
I have a stamp that is stubborn and it helps to put some cushion under it while stamping. A piece of foam or batting.
Tina if you put a thin piece of foam under your paper where you are going to stamp it will come out better.
Or an old sponge mouse mat.
Thank you Liz, I will try that x

Ditto from just north of Palm Springs! ☀️☀️☀️

Lol, yes sometimes that happens with the envelopes doesn’t it? Have fun x
Another great video, first time I’ve seen a wax seal being made, now I want a seal kit like yours !
Lol, sorry for causing you to want to shop more! 🙃 x

Thank you for your tip, it’s such a shame that the big stamps are so difficult to get good impressions from x

Thanks Yvonne, I hadn't even thought about trying different ink with it. Lot's of great tips for using that stamp, I will have to have a play x
Each and everything is great🤩
Just a hint for you...put the book under your paper for more cushioning. It makes those stubborn stamps work better. Hopefully it will work on that bird stamp and sometimes your ink pad may need reinking.

Maybe if you put the book under the paper for the bird post card stamp you might get a better impression?
Great idea x
Clean the stamp well. It looks like its been a loved stamp. Place a stack of paper under to cushion.
Super ideas, thank you so very much x

Oh no, that’s so annoying for you. Glad you are able to get it sorted out reasonably quickly though, and nice of you to be able to join me today 🙃 x

Use a pink eraser across the rubber of the stamp and see if that helps.
If you use a mouse pad under your paper, I find stamps stamp much better! Just a thought. Xo
Thank you Deb, lovely to hear from you, I hope you are doing well
Sorry I hit enter before I finished, I meant doing well and staying safe x
Thank you
You need something under, bookpage. mousemat etc
Amo tudo q vc faz,
Gostaria de aprender a envelhecer o papel
Take the stamp off the wooden block, easier to stamp and store too.
That’s a fantastic idea, tfs x
Couldn't you just take a lighter to the bottom of the seal and heat up a stick to let it drop a few drops to make it stick? Just an idea, I've never used it before.

Maybe your stamp needs a pad under it to impress well..... ????

I am always fascinated by how you use stamps when making your ephemera. A skill I have not mastered yet!!! Love watching you create your ephemera.

Fantastic video loved every minute ☺
Maybe if you use a stamp mat would help with those kind of stamp blocks
Thank you, that’s a great idea x

That’s a great suggestion, I am going to experiment x
If you want to prepare the wax seals, you can just use a bookpage circle as a base. Thus you can use the PVA glue to attach it ....
Great idea, thank you x

For glueing wax... I use furniture/ wood glue, that work good 🙂
I must try that, thank you for the tip x
You can lay the paper on top of the stamp and rub it. Sometimes it prints better . Stampin up taught that.
Great suggestion, thank you x
Thanks Tina, I’ll have to brave it and go shopping. Xx
Sorry Heather..... be safe x
Can’t watch. Bloody awful ring and nail polish

Thank you Sherry x
Everything you made is stunning
I prefer using wax pellets than sticks. Then I use a 3M double sided tape on the pre made wax seals
That's really useful, thank you x
Shabbydabbydoodah my pleasure! 🥰
