Is this trailer loaded? Loaded truck weight is around 40 tons, empty truck with trailer weights "only" around 16 tons. The breaking distance is much longer when the truck is loaded.

This is misleading. That truck is not fully loaded or even going at more than 40 to 45 mph which is about 70kph. Unless highway speeds are very low in Europe this vehicle won't be able to stop fully loaded with 40 tones or 80 thousand pounds.
Its all depending on what and how much load is that vehicle carrying on. Having active breaks doesnt mean always safety.. Must ensure it.to your own ability too. Thats the thinking in India, and thats why there are no much auto breaking system heavy vehicles here, idk why🙄😒

It's was foggy when Mercedes demonstrated the S-Class' sensors, that's why the failed because the sensor cannot detect anything during thick fog.
