i will never understand why Kia couldn't make these seats removable like some of the other minivans. It just makes no sense to me. This was the ONLY reason I did not want to buy a Kia sedona but I ended up getting one as I could not find a Honda or Sienna I could afford. So THANK YOU for this video. I probably could have figured it out on my own, but your video makes it much easier.
Video very helpful. I decided to buy 2x3 board not a 2x4 at hardware store and cut at 32inch they will fit perfect in track in between the foam and is a flat finish. So I did not have to take track apart. it actually looks good and nothing falls inside track.
I'd be satisfied at 2:04. The only drawback for this minivan is not "so easy" removable/fold into floor second row seat and somewhat less competitive fuel economy. Reliability and build quality for this minivan is among the best if not the best, fit and finish is far better than Toyota Sienna and Dodge Grand Caravan.
Thank You. Been looking on how to this for some time. However after reading your video 1 and 2 I think my modified way is an improvement. Slide seats back. Remove T55 bolts on front. Push seat forward and pull 2 each T55 \; on rear. Then lift whole assembly out and set on rug or towel or something. Take out two screws and plastic on either end of both rail assemblies. Hammer out press fit thing on same side. Hole seat adjustment and whole assembly pulls out. Replace the press thing and plastic cover with two screws. Saved my back a little work. Took me about 1/2 hour. I'm 80 with a bad back.
I couldn't remove the star screws so I sprayed some rust buster stuff on them. Then I used a hollow metal pole to work as a lever over the socket wrench arm and slowly pushed it forward with my knees...worked like a charm.
Thanks for this post! Procedure works for an Australian delivered 2015 New Carnival Si. I used a metric 14mm socket to remove the hex bolts - otherwise all the same. Nice flat floor - time to fit some cabinets that will lock into the (now empty) factory floor runners.
I was going to go camping and was going to use an inflatable mattress in the cargo area but the 2nd row seats get in the way, so I figured I'll just remove them for the weekend and put them back in after...yea, looks like a 5 minutes 3 step job...oh wait, no, it's a nightmare...thanks kia for your thoughtful design...
I feel like vans are getting worse. In my 2006 Sienna the seats come out. Also the central console comes out so I can put very long objects in (like a sailboat mast).
A few days later....trying to do as your video shows but i have one question....HOW THE FUCK DID YOU GET THOSE BOLTS LOOSE ???? I ruined my drill trying to do it with that, I tried my wrench ...then the wrench with a hammer and all I got was PISSED OFF. Now I guess I am going to have to take it to my mechanic and see if he can help me. Jeeze and you made it look so easy.
Looks like if you just want the extra cargo space, leave the tracks in place and just remove the 8 bolts and both seats are out. Do you know what years have latch remove seats like an Odyssey?
I have a2007 and the second row seats come out simply by jerking up on the latch that adjusts the seat back to fold them up followed by another simple upward tug on the front metal bracket.. in fact there is a short video here on RUclips. But to answer your question on exactly which years, I don't know.. 2007 for sure..
@@gbeachy2010 I think I will leave the tracks in, unless they become a problem. Looks like more than I want do to take them out. Plus if I ever want to pop the seats back in it will be less hassle. I hope Kia changes their mind on this feature in the future. Happy trails.
Hi, can you do a videa on how to remove the 3rd row seats? I need to take mine our for a road trip from PA to Alaska. Even any tips would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
I don’t get it. If he removed the seat pretty easily, then what was the reason for removing the track? I just want to learn how to remove the seats not the entire assembly.
Hi , I have a 2018 and the sits have electric connections , probably for sits’ bell sensors, how can I disconnect them without messing up the computer ? Thank you so much !
Got me thinking, It looks like if I take the railing out and then swop the seats around I can get the 2nd row seats to face the 3rd row seats, anyone tried it? I'm tempted to...

This construction makes it possible to have larger, heavier, more comfortable seats compared to the other models.
What a lifesaver. I almost skipped over this video since it said "backseat" rather than "2nd row seating". So glad I found you! Thanks man.

Sir thank you very much for making this video and posting it, you have saved my life and I'm sure countless others God bless you!!

Thanks for uploading this, saved me time trying to figure it out myself.
Please never take this video down 😂
4 years on and I still refer to it when reinstalling/uninstalling my seats
Thank you very much to show this vdo . I plan to buy a new Sedona but I want to remove 2nd row seat sometime for camping.
Thanks for the video, it's a big help. I am doing DIY conversion of my old sedona into campervan...
Great video thanks! May I ask what is the length of the cargo area once you removed the seats? Thank you!

Yeah, what a pain right when they could have made it easy like all the others.

Sigh......I wanted a sienna but could not find a used one in my price range and mileage. I like my Kia so far. Have not had it long though.
Thanks bro, just got one for work and didn’t realize the seat doesn’t come out, just taking one and folding the back
Lifesaver , thanks for this!
Thanks for posting such a useful video. Do you know if Kia made any changes to the Sedona 2020 regarding the second-row seat removal?
Nice job. Thank you so much for the video. You saved me a lot of headaches trying to figure it out!
You are a hero!
U r real car doctor!
Thank you so much for this video!
Will the seat fit back OK in the track as it's currently installed?
Thanks. This is exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks man. This works on a Kia Carnival as well.
thank you so much for making this video!

I'm having problems with the bolts on the track too. I need a power ratchet I bet.
Same here, loosened two and then stripped the hell out of the third. Hoping someone at the shop has a clever solution to fix my mess!
thanks man. works on 2020 models. now i can stretch out when i am car camping. im 6’ 4” lol
It’s a Korean car so, it’s not a 9/16 socket. It’s a 14mm. But, helpful video.

I have a 2019 and they do not come out.
@@frogspit7030 thanks for the information. I still have an old Odyssey. 2 bolts for each seat and there is more cargo space than big suvs.

Great thanks for showing me what to do , great .

So once you do all this does a 4x8 sheet lay flat with the hatch shut? Or is the rear too narrow still?
I'd like to know this as well
Awesome, thank you!

Were you able to do it?
Very helpful video. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
I think I would leave the tracks in
Which years of the Sedona have easily removable second-row seats? 2007 is one.
Hello :) May I ask what trim level the kia is?
majinspy L or LX model but the The seats will all remove the same in every model
majinspy you can tell he has the base model because of the cloth interior
Cool and thanks. Was wondering if this was possible
Thank you so much.
thank you !
