Yo Cole! Just wanted to say i loved your email about how nice it is to share a meal with people. It was such a nice and compelling story that made me realize that its truly not something we should take for granted and made me realize it's something I couod actually start to do with friends. I've shared many homemade meals with my family, but have only shared that with friends a handful of times. I now plan on learning some new dishes so i can start inviting friends over, and I just wanted to say I'm grateful to you for pointing out how amazing sharing food with people is. Much love ♡
I am kinda glad to take English 102 that had the topic of superheroes in comics... That allowed me to learn how to not tell a story but rather look into differing lenses (viewpoints) and write my own article that proposes my own research question to ask for the researchers to look into.
I am always amazed by the way you approach topics and come up with the most practical inspirational realistic ways to becoming better. This is was actually really helpful and made me feel like i can use my brain to better my every day life
Insightful per usual. I've got to tell you. Curiosity is decimating since we rely excessively on AI, such as ChatGPT. With my introspection notebook, I write down inquiries weekly and answer them using experience and analytical skills to fulfill my TRUE potential. I also did see a video from After School, involving why good people comply with sleazy systems and what to do about it.
This came just in time cause I was really beginning to question myself whether I was stupid for just asking “why?” My brain is always thinking about why something is the way it is or how something works and people around me always act like this way of thinking is not normal and always tell me I’m overthinking it or something. Thanks for helping me realize that maybe I’m not as weird as I thought :)
Thanks for this idea. Viewing the world and tasks from a different perspective just by asking the right question is something very powerful if i think about it. It allows us to see the things maybe from a different or more clear perspective.
Warby Parker's business model is strained now because they didn't have the inquisitiveness to realize that by being DTC means that they have to manage the whole supply chain of their product, thus why their IPO closing day price of roughly $40/share is now down to $15/share. I don't think they were the best example to lead off with being inquisitive
Sorry to get all Spyro geek on here but I just gotta say, my inquisitiveness is what led me to be creative with my fan music. I began brainstorming what else I could do with the Spyro soundfonts besides just copying the soundtrack’s style, and that is how I came up with my own style, Spyrorchestra. (The most recent one I posted got a decent view count too!) I’ve always been inquisitive about things, always asking things like “why is one thing trendy and another not?” I seriously wanna know why some things get glorified in media while others aren’t.
10:42 "Just because it's made by Ali, so it must be good" doesn't apply to his keyboards, which were designed with a third party and was most definitely feeling more like "deja vu" instead of "vuja de". Doesn't help that he was shipping from Europe to a mostly USA audience, which bumped up the price more than usual, but he at least tried...
it is quite interesting how you approach this topic. As an artist, my teacher always said to me about how we approach art. Thinking outside of the box, instead of fixing mistakes with an eraser, we start the drawing all over, using different methods to achieve the same result, my art style may not work for you because is not yours. It is quite interesting to see this approach. It is a video that i really needed to see. Thanks again for such a work of art Cole
@@CedKabandana But by calling other people NPCs, aren’t you dehumanizing them? Aren’t you choosing not to see that they’re people with thoughts and feelings and fears and insecurities and intricate inner lives, even if you don’t like them or they’re different from you? By calling someone an NPC, you’re writing them off based on what you see on the outside and you’re refusing to stay curious about them as people
@@fantasticbeck3938 you know what, you are right, but I still see them as a human, I started to call those who lives like that cause I never really found the right adjective, I always thought NPC described them quite right, but I never meant to treat them as non humans. I never wanted to say I'm the most curius person, bc if I was then I would never needed this video, I just wanted to talk more about how people were ignoring their curiosity and always received an easy answer passively. It's not an insult, cause most of the time this state is not chosen by them but they get influenced by big companies who try to create NPC costumers. See how Apple works, as he tries to erase all costumers question by introducing new fake revolution.
The Warby Parker story is bunk! Companies like Zenni Optical has existed since the early 00s and has been selling glasses for $7. They saw that Luxotica had a strangle hold on the US market and decided to slightly undercut them. But not in the same way as Zenni Optical since Warby's glasses started at $49 while Zenni's started at $6.99 and both were made in the same Chinese factory. Through better marketing they became the low cost leader in the U.S by exploiting customers fears of buying low quality chinese goods even though they're frames were made in the same exact factory. These friends are exploiters, not innovators. And if they were honest they wouldve spread the word about Zenni (Like my mom did) of getting glasses for Factory prices. But no they decided to seize an opportunity to become essentially sleezy business men all while lying to their consumers. Is that a skill we want everyone to have? Sounds terrible for society
That first example with the glasses... Oh yeah, they couldn't afford glasses but they could afford to create a multimillion dollar industry with no experience to rival the monopoly... Right... (Yeah I know it's loans but like... I normal person is probably NEVER going to create a business just cause they had an inconvenience one time)
You’re right, a normal person wouldn’t. For one, the four guys put in an insane amount of effort to make that happen (which most people aren’t willing to do). But also because they were already well educated in business.
They found a massive market inefficiency and were able to build a business around it. One that, in retrospect, was so obvious that they were able to get a ton of investment money for because the market was ripe for disruption. Obviously few people are going to stumble through a massive idea like this but it doesn't make it a bad example. Outlier example are overused because they are memorable (there is no magic way to creating the next big business) but the principle still applies.
Asking forsaken questions is one of many things school hates for us to do.

Asking why is good. First time I found it it was on dr. k channel when it come to mental health.

TL;DR (+ generalisation) : Inquisitiveness get you further in life, question the basics by starting with "why" then ask deeper.
