Bad parenting, poor detection, mental health, lack of protection in schools, people not armed themselves, etc. Guns are not going away. We can prevent things like this from happening but it starts in the household and classroom.

What’s the point of more laws if the laws we have aren’t enforced? Since George Floyd, the police are under attack and many of these big city prosecutors are more worried about criminals than victims. Crime was bad, so we got tough on crime. Crime went down. Then, the focus shifts to police brutality and incarceration rates and social justice ... which is fine, but they totally overreacted. Crime is moving back up which was a totally predictable result. They called it the Ferguson Effect even before George Floyd ... limit proactive policing to reduce liability. And since you mentioned Parkland ... the shooter should have failed a background check ... but they never prosecuted his earlier incidents with the law because he was a juvenile ... among other issues. There was a policy to stop the school to prison pipeline ... so they cut back discipline in the schools. Stephen Smith is exactly right. A balance must be struck. Law enforcement has to be enforced in order to protect innocent people. At the same time, law enforcement should not be abuesd.
Find the stats on how many gun crimes are committed by legal gun owners. Laws will only effect legal gun owners, so combined stats are irrelevant to the conversation
64% of gun crime is done by convicted criminals who can’t legally own a firearm and over 50% of gun deaths are suicide. The notion being pushed by Stephen A and the rest of the leftists in the media are either factually wrong or are lying
I am sick of hearing about guns laws. It is called keep criminals in jail. If criminals can’t get a gun legally they will kick down your door and come get your legal gun from your home. Look at the criminals breaking by into gun shops. They don’t care about the law.

Everybody agrees. However there is little agreement on what that something is. If you don’t enforce the laws on the books, new laws won’t help. If you don’t enforce the laws on the books, lawlessness increases.
Every country has violent movies and video games but not every country has unfettered gun access. Maybe that has something to do with it maybe? Nah can’t touch the guns. This country is fucked, we love guns more than our own people whatever race they are.

Because the person being trans is really the point? Oh no you just had to be a bigot lol. You don’t care about gun crime or the victims you just want to use a tragedy to push your political agenda.
Buy a gun, people! You don't have a gun, you can't say shyt. No one will take you serious. That's why mass shooters and criminals with guns gets more respect from law enforcements than black unarmed law-abiding citizens that get shot in the back when running away or still get kneed on their neck or back. Criminals do not care how strict the gun laws are because they will find any means to an end - a way to still commit a crime, either with or without a gun. Strict gun laws benefit criminals because it leaves honest people like you and me vulnerable or at a disadvantage. Criminals seek out easy targets, not hard ones. Remember that! Evil will find a way, with or without a gun. Criminals, mass shooters, murderers, and killers will find a way to create or obtain their version of a perfect tool, a tool to be used as a means to an end. For instance, a "Electrically Fired DIY Shotgun" (a science project) that was created to assassinate Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, the same science project creativity that was used in Russia that killed 15 and wounded 24, a "ghost gun", a Semiautomatic Rifle/Handgun/Shotgun, a pump action shotgun, a pepper spray, a bear repellent, a bug 🦟 repellent, an air gun/Co2 gun, a water gun 🔫 👀 L🤭L, a machete, a chainsaw, a hammer, a truck, a bus, an SUV, a kitchen knife 🔪 , a butter knife, a toy knife, a pencil ✏ 🤭 😂 , an unscented and tasteless poison into drinkable beverage or source, bad baby formula, a down power grid, and most of all, corrupt or non critical thinking law enforcements 👮♂️👮♀️👮🏻♂️👮🏻♀️👮🏼♂️👮🏼♀️👮🏽♂️👮🏽♀️👮🏾♂️👮🏾♀️👮🏿♂️👮🏿♀️, whatever the means to kill a person, get as much body count, or disrupt the way of life.
Evil will find a way? Really? 20000 deaths were caused by gun violence in the US in 2022. France for instance had 938. You guys have 5 times our population but over 20 times the amount of victims to gun violence. We have strict laws on gun ownership here. We also have criminal activity. Its not that difficult. Have tougher laws to get a gun than to get a driving license, thats all. No one is trying to 'take guns away' from law abiding mentally sound adults.
@@2011hwalker I agree with you. It's nice to get a comment from a rational person on the internet. 👍
Stephen Smith is exactly right. A balance must be struck. Law enforcement has to be enforced in order to protect innocent people. At the same time, law enforcement should not be abuesd.
Cops don’t protect people. That’s not their job they protect capital and that’s it.
Isn't this what you wanted tho... Isn't this what all the "Defund The Police" nonsense was about? You asked for it you got it, enjoy.
Are you implying that gun violence is rampant due to a lack of police funding? You're delusional.
How did he/she go on a rampage killing people then peacefully surrendering? Walk me thru that....
You can't punish everybody else because you create a sick minded people
Guns not the problem it's the people with the guns and things will never get better in this world you can march talk create laws but until my people turn from their ways and seek God first then he God will heal the land
@@mildredchapmanand yet the USA is the only country with this problem.

There’s a reason why there’s a 2nd Amendment and it’s not for hunting.
To ban guns is so naive & reckless. Study world history.
I guarantee this shooter was on crazy meds. People have always had firearms and mass shootings are relatively a new phenomenon. Maybe we should be looking at Big Pharma. Pharma makes WAY and contributes substantially more money than the NRA.
Moreover, no weak sicko would dare to carry out a shooting with other armed individuals in sight. From taking into account history, having the populace armed is necessary for FREE PEOPLE.
Why isn't everyone in the media blaming the President for this anymore ??
Bc he signs gun control legislation into law when the last guy didn't do shit
What did Trump do?
What is deathsantis doing?
I frequenty tell God in my prayers that He is the only person who can protect me because I know I couldn't easy be taken out any day. There are too many guns in this country and too many killers running around so only God can protect me.
Business as usual in America.
All the guns companies and politicians are making billions.
it starts at home.
Once again having to give condolensces to families but its not like anything is going to change anytime. THIS IS MY OPINION IDC IF ANYONE DISAGREES.
Everybody including Ja wants to be NBA young boy... I keep mine close to me for punks like that who prey on the weak
There was a mass shooting in Shreveport too buddy
Preach
Preaching without the Lord will have no affect, you scream from the roof top it's all in vain
When you have more guns than people in your own country, maybe it's time to do something?
Everybody agrees. However there is little agreement on what that something is. If you don’t enforce the laws on the books, new laws won’t help. If you don’t enforce the laws on the books, lawlessness increases.
How did life become so cheap and meaningless all of a sudden?
Lock him up and throw away the key
Not sure what you’re trying to do here, but this ain’t it.
Yes 🙌🙌💯💯
I wonder if Sam Ocho listened to this?
Every country has violent movies and video games but not every country has unfettered gun access. Maybe that has something to do with it maybe? Nah can’t touch the guns. This country is fucked, we love guns more than our own people whatever race they are.

God forbid that they use the wrong pronouns when describing this absolute psycho mass murderer. The fact that its even mentioned is one of the many problems with this fractured country we live in.
Because the person being trans is really the point? Oh no you just had to be a bigot lol. You don’t care about gun crime or the victims you just want to use a tragedy to push your political agenda.
Defund the police was the beginning of the end. Thanks, SAS, for speaking facts
Take this in, drink some water, your brain might need it to digest this.
You typed all this out just to be wrong. Why then doesn’t this happen in other countries? Oh right it’s the guns dummy.
Serious question: what’s the solution? How do you fix this problem?
Man you guys could really use some Martial Law
Yet you shout out to Busta Rhymes? Why not 50 Cent for getting shot at 9 time's. How can you be so talented at Sports and comments on that yet so well libtard on everything else

A proud black man using the term they created "black on black crime" but you're fair in yo mind!
I mean isn’t it just a description of what happened in the crime? I guess you can call it African American on African American crime if you want but it means the same thing
Yea. A strong black man can admit when black people commit atrocities against one another and understand that we can’t blame white people and the system all the time any longer. We have to be hold ourselves accountable.
Criminals will be criminals..Stop the criminals. It's not about owning guns

But the reason why alot of y'all are so afraid of how things are going cause y'all have no fear of GOD in you, alot of y'all's spirit is yelling out to y'all to get right with JESUS CHRIST but you refuse to make that change
Until they, we as a people turn to God all this loud screaming and laws want work , talking a good talk want work, gun laws want work we need to get back to Jesus work preach God's word not man
But he makes good points but we as blacks have forgotten our first love Jesus Christ
There’s a stronger correlation with poverty and homicides. There’s also a strong correlation with race and poverty. Race isn’t the issue. Poverty and systemic issues (poor education standards, for example) are the root causes here. I’d appreciate it if SAS and his team did deeper research so policymakers can focus on the root causes.
Most black kids wants to be a pro athletes instead of studying or learn a trade. Don't blame the system first
@SAS and team: this is what the lack of quality research is perpetuating 👆🏽

gun control will only hurt the responsible people, do you think criminals will line up to turn in their weapons?
What a bad podcast.
So are you saying under other circumstances you would defend someone just because of the color of their skin? They have a word for that and it starts with an R. Very dangerous language. You're quick to talk about how we treated differently but then you screaming about a judicial system that is not lenient on black people to be tougher?? You sound scared. Your cries for a tougher criminal system ON BLACK PEOPLE sound hopeless
So, you want the system to be more lenient on murderers, car jackers and thieves in general?
Because of muhhh, racism.
Gotta love people like you with the silly/stupid identity politics.
Go ahead, keep simping for criminals and then complain when inner city communities remain poor and bereft of business investment.

You are the one who’s scared. Don’t worry, your democrat heroes will no longer lock you up. They need your vote.
Lol sounds like you’d rather die in a shooting than have cops enforce the law and attempt to stop these shootings but whatever floats your boat
I don’t think he meant a harder judicial system I think he is advocating for stricter gun laws it has nothing to do with race Stephen A is just pointing out that the gun problem is so bad it’s killing the majority of black men while also affecting everyone else in society
@@nonamer7256 Stricter gun laws mean nothing if they aren’t enforced. If you defund the police, vote for lax prosecutors, and worry more about criminals than victims, stricter laws are a waste of time.
