We tested one for two hours and honestly the noise wasn’t bad at all, In fact the car was very sophisticated. We had already tested the Jazz and found that noisier when the engine kicked in, much noisier. The fake steps in the direct drive seem much more natural in the HRV, perhaps because the direct drive is lower geared than in the Jazz. Anyway, the overall noise was far less than in my turbocharged Suzuki Vitara, and the power delivery felt very natural. We liked it so much that, after driving many other cars for comparison, we have ordered one. Thanks for the review.

As you mentioned lumbar support is the only thing missing. Another benefit was five years warranty and servicing and five years finance at 5% apr. Thanks again, Bob M. South Wales
Thanks for the great review, well done for giving the folded seat boot dimensions and showing that the passenger seat folds flat, all very useful info to know. I currently have a 20yr old Honda Jazz and having the flat folding passenger seat is very useful for long items. This looks like a very useful boot space and far better than the Yaris Cross, plus better standard spec with back/front sensors; reversing cam; and folding mirrors.
Thank you Marek. In my opinion physical knobs should be mandatory in every car. Once you have learned their functions, you can adjust them while being blind-folded and a bag over your head, or while driving on curvy roads in almost any weather condition. Try do the same with touch screens... My respect to Honda who have the courage to look after their customers. 💖
I quite like the philosophy of a rear passenger space over boot capacity with the seats up. This is the most Japanese thing about the car. Being so high-riding, I'm surprised you didn't drove it up the hill 🥺
Where I live in Southeast Asia the streets are packed with the previous-gen HR-V (Vezel). It's affectionately called "our national car" (we're only slightly larger than Madrid and have no car industry.) Imagine how this new version will sell. BTW, my people don't care much for refinement and NVH. What we want (and what the Germans and Koreans still don't really deliver) are reliability, parts availability, ease of servicing, and resale value. But in terms of refinement, this new HR-V is already a shockingly good effort for a Japanese manufacturer.
Eu não vejo problema nenhum .... qualquer carro de motor no máximo ... sem outros sons (rádio ex:) fazem ruído .... é uma perfeita estupidez .... o carro é um sonho

They should have included the panoramic sunroof for the top version. Other than that, the pricing is adequate and not higher than the competition. Will pick up mine in October.
Love the attractive design and the typical excellent Honda fit and finish. But I'll wait for the revised refined model that will doubtless be implemented for the mid-cycle refresh in a couple years
It’s big change in compering to previous model.as overall package isn’t bad but price will be the most problematic issue and will jeopardize selling results. I liked very much your sarcasm about price. Just keep it like. Good video!!!
I have just drove my HRV 300 miles and it glides along smooth and silent, a single test drive doesn't give an accurate opinion, the car requires a different driving technique, once you get used to daily driving you can drive it without inducing high engine revs. The road noise is dependent on road surface, smooth ashfelt is quiet, concrete noisy. The only thing is I sometimes have have difficulty maintaining speed on long inclines, increasing engine revs doesn't give a responsive increase torque.
Honda nailed the design this time. We all know how Honda can make a super ugly car, but this one is a beauty. I wish it had more engine choices as current eHEV configuration is a no-go.
@@mharro88 this engine? Yes, I agree is terrible. I drive mostly highway, 130-140 km/h. Honda-Toyota hybrid? No, thank you. Oh, almost forgot- I like the previous generation of HR-V better than this one. A bit sad that they cut Accord in Europe. In the 🇺🇸 it’s one of the best looking sedans I’ve ever seen
Hi Marek, which one would you pick between the HRV and Qashqai? They are closed in terms of pricing. I did a test drive on the HRV and I really like it (interior, exterior, the engine seems to be ok). The only downside is that there is no space for a spare tire in the HRV and I am not sure about the reliability of this e:HEV system Full hybrid. Of course, we cannot expect to have a sports car as it is hybrid, I will believe that the main point is efficiency (MPG and emission). I was checking your Qashqai review and you feel not happy about the MPG. I know that the Nissan has more space and it is mild-hybrid, so, it's a totally different car. Not sure if we can get the same efficiency as the HRV on the Nissan. On the paper Nissan seems to have better MPG performance, However, I don't know about the conditions applied to get those numbers(Talking about the 140bhp engine). I will probably need to do a test drive with the Nissan and find out which one I prefer.
As you said, you need to drive the both, preferably in your driving scenario. The Qashqai seems a bit better as an allrounder, whereas the HR-V is more of a city car.
Hello I have been waiting for this model to come out. Will it be the same one that comes to Australia? Does it have the sun roof the previous model has? Cheers

I like its looks. About the price of Honda cars, maybe it is a problem with the Japanese currency exchange rates? Still, am I right in being under the impression that despite of the many years in development, the hybrid transmission is a work in progress?
I think it's worth the money since it should be reliable. The price is similar to competitors, no? Waiting for the civic, as it should be a bit bigger and better.

At this price point you can easily shop a segment higher. This does get a lot of stuff as standard, but a compact crossover will get bigger engines, possibly more tech to choose from, AWD, maybe better soundproofing.
The price is actually not that bad at all! In fact, I doubt you can find a much cheaper car in Europe with the same equipment and as a full hybrid. In the Czech Republic, for example, the price starts at 29k euros. The Advance version costs 31799 euros. At least at the current exchange rate.
