For those who don't know, Philippe Petit is a French highwire artist who gained fame for his non-permitted highwire walks between the towers of the Twin Towers in New York City in August 1974. He also walked Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris in 1971 and of Sydney Harbour Bridge in 1973. However, on January 7 of 1975, he fell in a practice session, breaking several bones and suffering internal injuries. He recovered but left this idea. Fun fact: this was actually his final act in a spree of Extreme & illegal high wire acts involving notable or otherwise Heavily dangerous locations in the early 70s. He previously did this at Notre dam cathedral in 1971 and Sydney harbor bridge in 1973. His acts only ended in January 1975 when he was injured in a practice act and retired from high wire walking, though he’s occasionally done much smaller performances up to the present day.
@@OvertheHIL524 for me it's about the dedication, hard work and discipline required to reach the level of being bold enough to walk along a rope 1300ft high while the wind is blowing, while doing tricks like lying down for over 30 minutes.
