Thanks Jim for the review. I am curious about the reliability of the machine, given all the extra electronic bits, 3 PIDs, Volumetric sensor, Heated group head on DE version... how has it performed reliability-wise?
Hi, I just got this Matrix and just wondering if auto on and off is actually turning off the boiler or just the lcd screen? Mine has automatically turned off for a few hours but the grouphead is still hot?
Hey David! I’m no expert on this machine, but I did buy it for that purpose! I’m opening a mobile coffee cart in a few months and this machine seems to be able to keep up for my needs. I wouldn’t use it in a sit down style cafe, but I’d say this could pump out a decent amount of drinks if it’s plumbed in. I used to work for a coffee shop and we used a linea mini for our catering events and it pumped out 100+ drinks in a 2 hour period. This machine seems to function very similarly to the linea! Hope this helped at all!
Great tip! Salt is a good workaround for tap water without enough minerals. However, distilled or purified water can cause oxidation of the internal metals as well as no minerals to extract all the coffee oils out of the coffee grinds.
Double boilers similar to the Matrix and DUO under 110-120 voltage normally take 45 minutes to fully warm up the boilers and grouphead. Smaller version machines, like the BZ07 with a Bezzera grouphead normally take 15-20 minutes with 110-120 volts. 220 volt machines will be faster.
Yeah that’s a pretty standard warm up time! I ran a mobile espresso cart for a shop and we used the La Marzocco linea mini. Took a solid 30mins to warm for a shot

Plan on purchasing the duo with the BZ group, but going to wait until you guys do a review on it first...
keep an eye out! ;)
Thanks for sharing.
Hope to see reviews of Jim and Lindsey together.

Hello, can you program pressure on it, and how does it compare in erms of build and materials quality to a lelit pl162T? thanks !
How many shots per hour do you estimate that this machine will make?
But how do u know it’s 201 F I mean you set it. You can tell in real time ?
Bring the girl back
PLEASE!
What do you mean, only 110V . Any country in the EU has 220V sockets, outside the UK which has now officially retreat from the union.
Excellent review. - Very helpful.
How do you empty the drip tray?
You said 45 mins to warm up?
What's the best water to use? Filter, distill or alkaline water or maybe just tap
The best water is softened water. Basically, water without any calcium or magnesium.

Gorgeous
Could this be a small shop machine?
Yes
Nice machine.Add a pinch of salt to your distilled water, and that will fix your conductivity problem.

روووووووعه good 👍🏻
Seriously. The young lady is much better
You know what's even better? The ability to change settings with an intuitive touch screen instead of using just two buttons! ;)
This dude is fantastic, go away perv.
his presentation is a professional performance, compared to waving hands around
That machine looks SEXY!!!!!
Don't forget to wash everything up with soup and decent water; before you want to make drinks with it. e.g. water tank, portafilter.
it's like he's never steamed milk in a day of his life...
That’s my machine bro, I get all royalties moving forward.......no section 8
