Don't know why fans were obsessing over his return. He couldn't get the ardman accent right and he looked like a harmless old man. Grants appeal was his unpredictability and crazed look.
It was similar when Sean returned wish EE would stop trying to recreate a time long gone.
I get what you're saying about Grant, but there's a reason why it shouldn't have worked for Sean: Sean has changed.
Even by late 2008, when he was trying to be father to Amy, Sean stopped being the crazed nutter that he was. I'm glad that they didn't make Sean psychotic when he returned and instead chose to actually develop his character.
