Thinking about a new 2023 KLX300. In my very early retirement years and been riding since the 70's. Got the itch for dual/sport but something I can jump on the highway for a 20-30 minute jaunt at 65-70 mph if need to.
I just bought one today! I can’t wait to hit the trails here in Colorado! First bike in over 6 years. I’ve had Ninjas and Harleys. It’s about damn time I got a dual sport bike.
Nice man! I just saw your comment on my other vid asking about comparing the two, I've never got the chance to ride a drz400 but i assume there would be a decent drop in power, but klx is very nimble and versatile i love it!
Nolan, please listen to me. Only post your riding content, skip stuff like what's in your intro. Im mad at RUclips because people aren't liking your content so it took me a while to find your page. Your putting out way better klx300 content then 90% of people, just edit your videos a little better with mostly riding content so people dont skip watching and the like button ! Please !
What are you reving up to (RPM wise) to get the bike to come up like that? I have the same bike and while it pulls plenty, getting it to pop up hasn’t been an easy task. Love the bike and great videos bro!
" Technically we are not supposed to be here " .... LOL ... you do know you are going to catch a lot of crap riding in places you are not supposed to. Were you even allowed on that hilltop places by the bench ? I noticed the gate at the beginning of the road there. But who am I to complain ... LOL .... 50 years ago .... I was doing what you are doing now ! And that is enjoying LIFE as a young kid ;-) I live in the Commie State of Massachusetts where they pretty much have no LEGAL off road trail riding. Sold my last dirt bike in 2005 ... but don't be sad .... from watching videos like this it has sparked my needs to enjoy it again before I get any older (67 next month ) ... I now have a deposit on a 2021 DR650 ... Motor on my young friend ;-)
BTW ... when riding areas like sandpits and such where it is blocked off. Watch for hanging cables across the road. Not all use gates or concrete barriers. Back in 1971 I was riding my 1971 Suzuki TS-185 down one of those grassy wood roads and the land owner strung a 1/4" steel stranded cable across the road at handlebar height. I hit it at 40 mph and dragged the vertical railroad ties it was attached to out of the ground. Luckily I ducked in time because the cable went over my bike and could have taken my head off. It did hit my helmet and I do still have the helmet as a reminder.
good stuff Nolan!!! awesome exploring . you need a 360 camera to put dots on good maps the train tracks are cool for that . keep chasing and enjoy the weekend when you get there
So not 100% sure but I have the 2021 klx 300r dirt bike not street legal and I was told lubing the chain is unnecessary due to the chain has little grease fittings between each link. So lubing it is just causing it to attract more dirt and causes it to rust faster.
Love the video. Looks so fun! I have a question that may seem odd. I just bought a KLX 300. This weekend I’m gonna take it out it much the same kind of riding you just did. Back country roads ave a few trails. The guys I’m going with usually go out for about 3 hours, but I’m sure there are several stops along the way. But I know the tanks on these bikes are rather small. Around town I get about 130 KM’s a tank. Have you ever gone out riding like you did in this video, but for about 3 - 3.5 hours? Did your tank last that long? Thanks.
How do you like this bike compared to the Yamaha, now you see why they did the 300S in silver and the 300SM in black, those rocks would rip up that powder coat.
The arm swivels and so do the mirrors, I've got mine set to where I see my shoulder on each corresponding side, and I can also see straight behind me so I can observe what's going on, its for sure something you are doing wrong cause it's impossible for the Mirrors to be faulty (though they vibrate a lot so image is blurry when you are going 55)
This is exactly what i’ve been doing in GTA 5 lately (story mode) minus the murdering hookers part. I can’t wait till I get my KLX300 in July or August.
I have been watching your playlist on this bike. Thanks for sharing and know you have a new sub. May be adding one to the stable here, just having fully decided yet. Thanks agian the door dash was fun to watch as well. I have never done it, but may one day look into it. I know my daughter has, not sure but it looks like easy money if you know where you are gong. Thanks again. Dale
You being on that rail bridge gave me crazy anxiety. You’re brave, man.
sprays all over the carpet
i was wondering if anyone else caught that lmao
Yeah me too wtf lol
Going through these comments and not one person mentioned you lubing up your chain on the carpet. 😂

Think more 55 to 60.
I have one and can confirm if you want to cruise at that speed don’t get this bike. It feels a bit unstable but it cruises at 55-60 perfect.
I would definitely get it though unless you absolutely need it in the interstate.
My buddy wants one, this was an awesome display of it's capabilities!
Thanks for taking the time to post.
Danng man you really put this bike to the limits.😃
Love it! Man I wish I had some places like that around me. That video captures the essence of dual sports perfect! Keep the videos coming bruh

I love this bike, wish they went with at least a 3 gallon tank, would be way more appealing to more riders.
Damn dude looks like a dope ride. I ride my DRZ400SM on similar trails/powerlines Train tracks up here in NY.

Been binging all your vids man keep it up.. Would u mind sharing what tires those are?
Love to hear that thank you, they are the dunlop d605 that came stock on the bike
@@NolanRides ahh I see. Dang mine came with like 90/10 street tires so I'm gonna have to get me some of these forsure.

@@robskully3539Rob, I was doing the same thing in CT in 1981! So much fun and sometimes scary! Some of the best times of my Life for Sure! mob 👍☮️
@@MichaelOBrien-z8i BTW … I did get my 2021 DR650. :-) ruclips.net/video/jtlqUf2yL0s/видео.html
Yup, I cut my fender thing off in the same exact spot with the same exact saw. Boom done tasty mod
I love your hooligan attitude!
That was a sweet ride. Quarry was best spot.
good stuff Nolan!!! awesome exploring . you need a 360 camera to put dots on good maps the train tracks are cool for that . keep chasing and enjoy the weekend when you get there

Is the KLX300 Dual Sport a street legal version of the KLX300R? Do they have the same gearing, transmission, etc?
Love the video. Looks so fun! I have a question that may seem odd.

Yeah in the video “can the klx300 keep up with real dirtbikes” I was riding for at least 4 hours, so I think you will be good!
@@NolanRides awesome, that puts my mind at ease. Thx!

Cool video man I like it alot, just be careful on that bridge, and the train tracks
I always wondered why people buy tail tidy kits when you can just saw it off. Looks good.
because that tail light and the blinkers are still massive, but I agree it looks a lot better
How are you able to see with those stock mirrors? I I see are my shoulders no matter how I adjust them.

Awesomeness
Nolan, shorten the videos please with riding only! Great video again !
you use wide or super wide Field of view?
good balance, fun video
Love it, nowhere to ride in Fort Lauderdale, it sucks here!
If you’re not supposed to be there, don’t go! That’s what gets off roading as a whole in trouble!
Where are you supposed to be exactly?
He wasn't hurting anything, everyone does this on a dirt bike, 4 wheeler, etc
Bro, you’re tearing up the videos!
Thank you man I appreciate it I plan to keep them coming!
I need a friend like you to ride my klx with. If your local to boston or maine message me!
I know man it’s hard to find people that are really about riding haha, I’m in north carolina 🤙🏼
Dual Sports are rad!
Two words: Harbor Freight
ayee your from north Carolina?
Yup!
@@NolanRides sweet i'm from south Carolina!
