This has been so informative. Telling us a what a burr does and WHY you're using it where you are AS you're carving is super helpful!! The camera angle is clear and your explanations are great. Thank you :D
Hi Theo, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, tips and techniques with us. Please please will you continue with this series 🙏🙏. Can't wait for more of this kind of videos from you!! Thanks Sonja
Can't wait to see Volume 3! I'm gonna try that one of these days. I'm carving wood right now but I have all my bits ordered for carving a rock. I'm pumped to have a go at it so thanks for these videos.
Of course! It's definitely a lot easier to carve rocks than it seems! All of the general techniques will overlap for the most part between carving wood and carving stone! Thanks so much for watching! 😊
I really appreciate these videos! I watched Bobby Duke too, but where he shows what he does and says "You can do this too, just try it!" I very much appreciate you actually showing a more step by step guide. This video (and volume 1) actually make me want to do this and since I have a rotary multitool and a fair amount of bits I think I'll actually try it out soon.
It means a lot to hear that! Bobby duke is definitely a wizard when it comes to carving, so "simple" to him is definitely not "simple" to most other people, though the techniques he uses ARE simple! I would highly encourage giving it a shot! You will likely find that it isn't as difficult as it seems! Thanks so much for watching! 😊
Thank you so much! It really is as easy as it looks!😊 When you break it down step by step, no carving is difficult, some just may be more time consuming than others! Just takes a bit of practice and patience! Thanks for watching! 😊
I really need to know how to use the POLISHING bits! PLEASE PLEASE do the polishing video soon? I love your stuff and i will be sending you a care package soon!💝
I haven't worked much with overlapping, but in my next carving project I will try to include it in my design. Perhaps a set of double spirals in a Celtic design. Thanks for the video.
Hi Theo , I would love to do this pebble carving , when you carved the little flower you had info come up on the screen about the bags of hoovers which I couldn’t read quick enough before it disappeared from the screen . I tried to wind the video back to read it again , I fact , I tried to rewind it so many times but I couldnot get it to come up again long enough to read , please can you let me know what the info was about the vacuums bags , also it would be so handy if you could tell us on the video rather than do the type overs as they disappear to quickly . I do love watching the videos , they are brilliant .
Great video! I was just wondering if youd would have any idea of where to point someone like myself who is looking at doing this type of work without power tools using only handtools? Just hoping if you'd be able to point me in the right direction.
Would you mind telling me which tool you used to do the different levels? It looks like a routing. I have a dremel but don’t understand very well how to use each of the different tips for it
Thank you! And I was not for this one; I had to replace a part in my flex shaft so I had to use my other rotary tool for this one. My flex shaft is now fixed and back up and running, so I will be back to using it again for the next one! 👍
I’d like to try this. I saw another video where the person was talking about a micromotor. Would that be a viable rock carving tool? Does it have enough torque. They certainly turn at a higher speed.

Picked up the rotary tool you recommended. Now I need some nerve and a rock I don’t mind messing up.
Hi, which tool did he recommend?
SaxaS SaxaS Chicago electric rotary tool. Picked it up recently from Harbor Freight for under $20. Now I need the diamond bits.
pamela brown thank you

Nice. But why don’t you use water when carving? It saves your burs and keeps the dust down.
Great job! Thanks for sharing! Are you not using flex shaft?

I only got one question Theo can you do this with like a iron pyrite or is the iron pyrite going to be too crumbly when you try and carve on it?
Can you make a video for beginners in how to use tools? I have a dremel but don’t understand how to use each of the different tips
Does anyone know...What type of stone is this? Also, how long did this project take?
What about an acorn from tigers eye

How can I buying burrs in India
I dnk, but try e-bay. You might find. Or just google in your language for diamond burrs. You might find sellers. Good luck 🍀
