That's great you have original vacuum wiper, vacuum line and complete window supports. These items are often missing. Enjoy your doing it my way restoration.
I’m really enjoying your CJ-2A videos! I just picked up a CJ-2A last Saturday! It is #32895. It is struggling with many of the same issues as yours. I jumped around a bit but I’m at this vid now so much more to go! Mine doesn’t even have an inner window frame. Unless I can find an original I may cave and get a repro. Also need a passenger seat, backseat and fuel tank. Love the vids! I’m laid up for a couple months due to shoulder replacement surgery last week so I’m taking in as much info as I can while I recover. Keep up the great work! I also have a ‘63 Beetle and I saw you hinted at getting one in a video. 8:03
Thanks for watching, and congratulations on getting your Willys. They are great fun to work on. Kaiser Willys has been a good place to get parts but don’t get there wiring harness they are horrible. Get well soon shoulder replacements can be tough. If I can help at all you can contact me through instagram @roywworks or Facebook @jason Roy
I plan to do the same with the Willys logo on the tailgate of my CJ5. The new gate I have has no logo, planning to graft the old one to it. Ready to see part 2!
Roy, Check with your local glass company on the windshield metal frame. I build hot rods and have found that a local glass shop carries several types of frame material. If that does'nt work for you, Find company that makes duct work for A/C and Heating that will bend the frame work for you. The glass company is the better choice as they will have the rubber seal to set the glass in the frame.
Thanks for the advice, I read your comment and went to our local glass shop they had something similar in aluminum but not steel. I checked the classic Jeep company I’ve got parts from before they were really expensive . We deal with a metal fab place I’ll check with them next
The replacement rubber seals are readily available and not terribly difficult to install. And your local glass shop can cut you some safety glass for pretty cheap. (If you buy new pre-cut glass via the usual Jeep suppliers, you'll pay too much.)
That’s true,I’m surprised how expensive some of the parts are like glass.thanks for the advice. We have a glass shop right up the street.I just have to figure out the steel frame. Kaiser Willys wants a lot of money for it.
Old Landie is a very cool vehicle . I do like that windshield but I’m having a hard time finding the frame around the glass without paying a lot of money. I don’t know if I should just make it and not worry about rubber seals
I didn’t know the wipers were vacuum Operation! That’s really cool. You always seem to save a lot of the original structure and work with it. That’s awesome!!!
They are cool but I don’t think I’m going to use them they are in pretty bad shape. Because I’m kind of a beginner it’s easier for me to stay somewhat within the original structure. Not get too custom.plus it’s a lot cheaper and I wouldn’t want to put to much money into thisJeep

You did know the inner frame hinges out to a certain angle and slides out of the outer frame,it helps when you have to work on either one!
Thanks Randall, I’ll check it out when I work on that part again. Thanks for the input

Just curious would you cut out opening and but weld it or just lay it on the piece of metal and weld it.
@@royworks28 Planning to cut and butt weld.

The construction of that windshield is so similar to my old landie! Glad you are saving the embossed part👍
My isn’t hinged like that tho! That is really really cool
