Early congrats on the wedding, Andy! Take your time to deal with burn-out, and I think I can speak for the majority when I say we'll all be happily and patiently waiting for your next stream or video whenever you're ready. Love the content as always, and thank you for all your hard work!
congratulations on the wedding! your videos are always a treat and the work is always evident and appreciated. hope you get some good R&R and enjoy that married life!
Congratulations on the wedding! Sorry that it's all burning you out, and hope that you can take all the breaks you need! Be generous to yourself and your partner -- YT, streaming, and keyboards can wait. Also, so tempted by this keyboard thanks to your review.
Loving the reviews so far, very thorough yet straight to the point. I'm not the biggest fan of the look but this board definitely seems like great value for both sound and feel. Also congrats on the upcoming wedding! Take care of yourself and be careful with burnout.
Another excellent video!!! I am really excited about this board and hearing it compares to a Vega?!?!!! EVEN BETTER!!! I am holding out hope that I can get my hands on a Vega (...someday), but this is for sure a "must buy".
I really didn't care for the green when I first saw this gb, but after seeing it in a video I feel the opposite way. Thanks for the review Andy, and congrats on the wedding!
@@Andrew-ng3sc I got some of them since posting the comment. They are thinner than the PE foam sheet I had on hand, but only because the cells in the pads' foam are more compressed and dense. FWIW I am using the Thockpop pads instead of KBDFans switch pads.
I'm definitely one of those who'd prefer PE foam in because I like that glassy sound. But I can understand where you're coming from where especially if you have more than one keyboard, it'd suck if they all just sound the same.
Mate your mental health and wedding and relationship are far more important than being 'productive' and satisfying the demands of online strangers. Take care of yourself and I hope you feel better about making content soon, not for our sake but for your own enjoyment and needs
Oh shit! This keyboard is cleeeeean, I'm going to try and pair this with KAT Space Dust! Thanks for the heads up! Love the idea of a cheaper 65 that sounds similar to the Jelly Epoch!
Very happy to see it sounds good without the pe and pcb foam for me i would probably use the pcb and case foam and call it a day but it's very nice even without that's always great what I love is even adding the pe foam it didn't take away from the switches finally as people see they are finding ways to add it and not take away anything just add a nice sound to it lol
@@AndyVNguyen I see. Thank you so much for your response. I ended up buying sangeo after your video and I am really happy with it. I heard that you are going through a lot these days. I hope good luck with everything.
A keyboard that sounds good with PE foam, is an okay keyboard. A keyboard that sounds good without PE foam, is a good keyboard. A keyboard that sounds good in both configurations, is an awesome keyboard.
The board that uses pe foam yet somehow doesn't sound like it. But I mean this in a good way it just added more pop to it which I loved. It retains the switches sound fully tbh lol.
RUclips randomly showed me a typing video one time and now it recommends these board videos all the time. Pretty fascinating stuff. Does anyone know a cheap bluetooth board thats on the quieter end? Using a membrane keyboard at the moment
I kove how even when you added the pe foam it didn't sound like pe foam just allowed a little more pop through just shows these companies are learning how to add pe foam without changing the sound to much it retains the switch sound alot
Its really sounds "PE foamed" with PE foam. Actually PE foam ain't bad for both RUclips typing test and actual typing sound, just as he said, its sound pretty similar. Without PE foam less snappy but I like the more unique sound (probably more fun on choosing different switches with really different sounds like old days). I vote for without PE foam.
The green color is difficult to grasp from pictures and the video here. Some sequences like around 5:43 make it look deep lush green, somewhat sparkly, where like on the typing tests it looked mat and dull like an old military tank would be painted green. So what is the actual color? Or would it be safer to just get the black?
The green isn’t sparkly. The shot from the sound test is an indoor setting. It’s mostly darker. Green no matter what the lighting is hard to match. Get black if you’re concerned with matching and don’t have a plan
@@AndyVNguyen I went PC + Alpaca for my Ikki68 Aurora. Might try Boba U4T for the Ginkgo65 or swap it around (meaning U4T for the Ikki68 then Alpaca for Ginkgoi65)

Seems like great value for the sound you’re getting
Amazing contents as always! and congrats on winning them KBBQ, it must've been so deli...yum :p
Interesting with the pe foam, it sounds a lot more poppy without actually changing the sound of the switch. The pitch stays the same overall.
I'm also surprised the PE foam didn't obliterate the sound
The individual pads have a different sound than the full PE sheets.
@@Andrew-ng3sc Right, the pads are thinner.

Andy take care of yourself. You are one of the top content creators in the hobby. Peace
With the extras release coming, would you rate this over the qk65? Both are quite similar I’d assume.
E-white copper Ginkgo so lit, would build it with no foam because it sounds joyless with anything more than plate or case foam
Thanks and enjoy the wedding! Have a good break!
Would this work better with Linear or Tactile switches?
i'd say linear since it's bouncy feel. For tactile to really feel the bump, usually you'll want stiffer board
Nice vid love those spacebars
Congrats on your wedding! Do you think the board is overall quiet compared to its comparable? Thank you!
it's not a loud gasket mounted keyboard
@@AndyVNguyen Would you say its quieter than vega? Sorry for the questions. It is physically hard to tell without owning one.
I don’t have a Vega here. There’s sound tests of Vega on my channel you can compare to

You talked a lot about hollowness in this board, but how hollow is the Sun68? I haven't heard any hollowness in your or others soundtest.
sun68 wasn't hollow either

kbd67 lite bluetooth is probably the most accessible option afaik

It's great that this can compare to the vega, especially at this price point. Sound-wise, do you think it bears any resemblance to the Vega?
Maybe one day you’ll have time to watch the video I made
@@AndyVNguyen Ok, i'll be more specific, is it possible for me to replicate the sound of your vega with inks? rly interested in it
I would just throw some thin packing foam myself. I liked the no PE foam sound personally.
the thin poron is already pretty good, can't imagine something thinner having any kind of effect
Hey I think the keycaps are epbt gok x bow and not gmk minimal 😅🤔

Definitely without pe foam it sounds quite good, especially for thst price. Very interested
Kinda sad nobody built the board with aluminum plate yet, I'd be curious about the sound profile difference compared to the stock PC and FR4.
Actually this board is made by M.ONE lab (formerly known as Besides Studio) from China, Wuque is the international vendor.

I wonder how this board will sound with sp meteor whites in them, can't wait to get my hands on this (:
which bag is that behind the Ginkgo65? Just joined the GB and I’m looking for a bag for it!
it's the case that came with the kbd67 lite
What's the board shown at 2:25? The one with the knob to the left corner
When you were flashing through 3 keyboards, there was one in the end that had a rotary on the left side. What is the name of that keeb?
hye Andy. Which typing experience and sound do u prefer on GInko or mode65 regardless of their price? Help me please.
The price matters a lot though. You need to pick if you want a top mount or a gasket mount to pick between the two. I prefer plateless so yea
Hello, is it better than the QK65? thanks for the video
Lmao the qk65 has a cooler weight. Gingko has the two tone thing going. Both don’t sound very different
I really want to find this board and get one.
kinda sounds like my bakaneko (65). It's very muted and very creamy and deep, thocky. it has lavender switches and i actually prefer it without foam.

Anybody knows the other 3 keyboards Andy showed in the video? Btw congrats on the wedding Andy!
Is the flex the same even with the case foam? I like my boards with the most flex I can get haha
The case foam is thin and had cutouts for the kailh hotswap. The flex is definitely still there when using it

chimera and keycult did not have hollowness. but there are nicer/expensive keyboards that have hollowness also

Don’t want to ask this but… Do you think this is more muted then the Mode65?
gonna be quieter than the mode65 i feel. but if you use the silicone dampener then they're both gonna be quiet

Longer for gingko
Wuque would be pronounced more like “woo chew-eh”. Chew is kinda in between chew & choo (like a choo choo train).
