Sorry about my bad language but it's us Yorkshire folk, big thanks to my old mate adi for filming and been involved in sorting her out and a huge thank you to big Al and dan for getting her running and been involved in sorting her out, and thanks to Zoe for making it all happen
I want to see video on a GMC 6x6, diesel, with the whistling exhaust !! I got to ride in the back of one with an Allison automatic in 1969 and will always remember that sound.
Cool truck. I saw 2 of them parked up at the cu chi tourist tunnels in vietnam. Shame i couldn't get to them , as they would have been good to have a closer look at.
One little thing... I had same issue when i was starting mine after 10 years... the carb constant need fuel soo the tank youre holding need to deliver fuel all the time or else it stops. I used a boat primer hose first time that worked. But best to do is use the pump on the truck... Flush out and couple on the carb. and you will see result... Good carb is off for a clean. I cleaned mine not so long ago.. My truck run so better now
I have been on with the fuel system, I have rebuilt the carb, throttle shaft housing badly worn so made some bushes for it, will be removing fuel tank next for a clean out and fitting new fuel lines. Will be an update soon.
@@plainsabertooth7828 The truck and its engine were both built by General Motors. In years past GMC meant General Motors Company, which was the truck and bus division of GM. At different times in different models GMC used engines from various GM divisions but this 270 six was GMC's own engine.
Geeeeez louize....hold the camera still would ya try using something to stabilize it.........zoom I. Zoom out zoom in zooom to...made me dizzy, stopped watching before the truck was started......
It is surprising that so many people who have mechanical skills and experience on cars and trucks, and yet know so very little about basic electricity on these vehicles. Sparks are flyin' and it's time for a bit of humour as the fumble fingered dude yuks his way through the ordeal. hahahaha

no apologies needed mate
strong language in a video having to do with mechanics should just be a given. we already know!
- j'ai eu l'ocasion de rouler à l'armée en 1974 avec un GMC, moteur à régime lent mais puissant, un véhicule très robuste !
love the sound of that! :D
i want one
I wanted one for years we finally got one lol
and why not :-) proper big toy - are you going for full restoration or just a tidy up and keep original
A Real GOLDEN GEM 💎 This One Lol!!!
Nice you saved it , a full set of canvas costs a lot for A CCKW . She's a bit holy , but it still has life in it .
Wow this truck is sick! 😍
does anyone even know a mechanic that doesn't swear?
Nice project, wartime Fordson in the back as well

Wow what a beautiful automobile.
Thank you so much for this video, it will come in handy when I am going to try to start my own cckw
It's Alive Wahooooo!!!; )
That's worth it.

ooooo very nice
The tin worm is strong with this one!
Smashing video guys
Well of course the ignition was giving them problems, it's NOT Lucas. So the Smoke stays in, not out
Well done, how much dust/dirt is in that thermostat housing! Its a goooooer!
Bloody amazing enjoyed that. I'd like to see that when it's fully restored. There's one of them in a garden on the A1070 in a sorry state.
I appreciate it when I find one, most of what they say makes no sense in context.
I wonder if motor would have the right bottom end to except a turbo?
It would be cool to see that happen!
Sadly the owner has sold this.... but have to agree a turbo fitted would of made a nice motor..... it was certainly do-able ....
Such a beast.I hope u will restore or at least give it decent paint job and some cleaning
It is getting restored, a lot of work ahead but will be worth it!
I would leave the patina
Does it have a 302
I'm not sure to be honest, it wasn't my project and the owner sold it a couple of years back.
That isn't strong language, it's just casual language. 8)
I would hate to have to pay the fuel bill and mantice on that.
Wish I could help. I like that sort of shit.
Nice. Was this bought from a chap in throcking near buntingford
I'm not sure, belongs to a friend of mine , arrived at the yard around March last year.... I will find out.
so is it powered by a ford or chevy engine?
Neither; the CCKW had a GMC 270 cubic inch OHV inline 6. And no, the GMC was not the same as a Chevrolet engine.
@@FredOlsen-yi2th so it's not relate to GM?

@@FredOlsen-yi2th got it.
Original engine ? looked like a Chevy Blue Streak engine
It's original. It's just the same as the engine in my CCKW.
GMC 270
