A weird site did the same second thing to me, In a fit of rage, I recorded a full tour of my house to show there was nothing there, talking to the doormen, asking if anything had arrived, and showing them the security camera footage from the day it "arrived". In the end, I threatened to go to the police, so they gave me a full refund 😅
I work in a bank and in 99.9% sure it was the cat chair. The others just scam you by sending cheap versions of what it could have looked like and then offer you a 10% -30% refund if you don't try to return it and charge you more than the product to return if you do return it. Amazon and Ebay won't steal your details. Cat chair - GUILTY!
I agree. Also work in banking and I too can confirm that the car chair is the culprit. Their website was the first red flag. The second was the AI images with no proper images following their after. Some of the chairs just looked unrealistic. The third was the emails. They don’t seem legit. When you talk to a business they respond with their business handles in their signature. These guys didn’t.

It was the cat chair site that stole your Cc info. I ordered from a site similar to that. I too, never received the goods and they said it was “delivered”. I never received the items and they made it hard to prove that nothing was received. I ended up disputing the charge, and closing my card after they fraudulently made purchases for snow ski items, etc (I live in Florida…no snow).
I had a similar thing happen to me. They were a group of people and started using my name and info. They faked it's an online remote working company faked I'm employed by them always contacted by only two (if it wasen't the same person all the time) they even offered me a wage and rate hourly(I never got) it was a fake copycat company they asked payments to people always using my info. The company of card said I was in on it and said I can't use their company anymore. Closed my account even if they never had my Pin or secret number.
@icierelles1732 Your credit card company, in other words cc company. If something happens call them immediately after talking to the company you bought from. Tell them you want to dispute the charge because you didn't receive it, it wasn't what was advertised, broke etc and they won't refund you or replace the item for you. Your cc company will refund the money for you. They may also suggest you close out that account and open a new one to prevent the scammer for using your card.

Yes I agree when I send things back to a company I use at work and they charge me saying one of the items is missing they ask for proof that I included it how am I supposed to do that
@ta1920 Nowadays, I actually always film putting everything in the package, putting in the return form crossing off all the listed items that are in the package and sealing it (sometimes I also weigh it). I also always film opening packages I receive.

I am 65 years old and I try to keep up-to-date with everything that it comes out new but I have a very difficult time with AI and the more I can learn about it the more I appreciate it so thank you. And also, even though some of the clothes were not beautiful, you still looked cute in all of them.

My biggest tip is to ignore any random sites and only go for trusted sites or shop in stores. Even at 27, being fairly tech saavy and knowing (mostly) how to tell what is AI, I have still been scammed before. Now I only trust sites like Amazon or just buy in stores.
I think everybody's mom is falling for it. My mom got so excited about a hummingbird and her babies in a tulip until I had to explain to her it was not real.

I think people still have bad expectations from chinese products because 20 years ago they were incredibly bad in quality and even hazardous, but a lot of things in china nowadays is cheap and of great quality
@yomieda8376 well most of our goods is produced in China and some Chinese brands are really too notch too. It really depends on the producer, the factory only does what its told. As for those wigs I've heard a lot of good opinions actually and yes it's true a lot of western companies buy those products from Temu or Ali and sell them for 3x more.
Just an FYI about Satin - Satin is a method of weaving material, it is not a fiber compisition. That is to say Cotton can be woven into Satin, Silk can be woven into it, or you can make it completely out of polyester. Different fiber combinations will give the satin different characteristics and will even change the weight of it. Polyester is very, very easy to weave into a satin fabric so always assume the "worst" (that it's 100% polyester) and verify that it's better (a poly-blend, or cotton, or rayon, or silk). If it is 100% polyester, know that it cost very little to make so it's total cost should be related to how my yards were used (a shirt vs. a ball gown) or how much labor must have been involved to construct the material into the final product.

@kzj802 When you make fabric you take fiber that has been spun into thread and then set it up on a loom to weave together (think of a knitted sweater, but on a much finer scale). Satin is made by how you arrange the threads on the loom, which is why any fiber (cotton, poly, silk, wool, rayon, so on) can become a satin fabric. Silk is a type of fiber that is spun into thread. So a Silk can be woven into Satin, but it can also be woven in a different pattern such as a Jacquard, or "Shot". Shot-silk is when you take two (or more) different color silk threads and weave them together so when you hold the finished piece of fabric in different directions it changes color. A little safety tip about Silk is that all modern silk is safe to touch your skin, but if you buy VIctorian or Edwardian-era silk objects (or older) then there is a chance the silk has been weighted in lead shavings. You can still wear antique silk, even if it is leaded-silk, but there needs to be one layer of fabric or material between your skin and it. Leaded-silk was outlawed by the 1940s, so all modern and vintage silk should be lead-free. One last note is that Silk is an animal-based fiber, like wool. It is made from boiling the cocoons of silk-moths. You can wait until the moths grow up and then use the shed cocoons to make silk, but traditionally you boil the moth-cocoons while the larva are still inside. Because of this, real silk is never vegan. If you are buying a gift for a vegan, they would probably prefer you buy a plant-based material or plastic-based material that mimics the feel or look of silk, instead of the real fabric. Some vegans don't mind silk, wool or leather as long as it's vintage (meaning the original creator is receiving no money for having produced the item). I am not vegan, but I try to be mindful that most vegans hold strong opinions about different fabric types and their manufacturing process.
@ptorq This is 100% true. I'd add that it's important to note when a company mis-markets their product and to not "go easy on them" about it. I order from very small businesses sometimes who have their products made in a factory (based on their designs and instructions) and then shipped out to the retail store and SOMETIMES (not always, by a large margin) they totally mis-identify what their product is made of because they just go by the feel instead of checking the official tag. Informing brands (big or indie) when they make this mistake is important because there's a chance one of their customers could have an allergic reaction to an un-listed fiber. It is also important because there's a chance the factory is taking advantage of the small indie brand by charging them for one type of fabric, while instead using a cheaper fabric to pocket more money. The faster a small company finds this out, the quicker they can switch factories and save their reputation; not informing them can mean the company accidently starts losing customer trust.

I think wigs are surprisingly decent from China. I bought a wig for my Anna cosplay for around $30 and it ended up being way better and authentic looking than the offical wig for $140 dollars.
I agree. I've been buying wigs for from China for over a year and they're pretty realistic looking! I was paying at least three to four times more 4 wigs of equal quality at wig shops in the US.

i disagree, AI can make some pretty awesome pictures, the cat and dog chairs are a perfect example of something awesome. Its hard to tell the difference between AI and real art, but it does make some cool stuff. it just needs to be improved more.

@yomieda8376 well most of our goods is produced in China and some Chinese brands are really too notch too. It really depends on the producer, the factory only does what its told. As for those wigs I've heard a lot of good opinions actually and yes it's true a lot of western companies buy those products from Temu or Ali and sell them for 3x more.

Just an FYI about Satin - Satin is a method of weaving material, it is not a fiber compisition. That is to say Cotton can be woven into Satin, Silk can be woven into it, or you can make it completely out of polyester. Different fiber combinations will give the satin different characteristics and will even change the weight of it. Polyester is very, very easy to weave into a satin fabric so always assume the "worst" (that it's 100% polyester) and verify that it's better (a poly-blend, or cotton, or rayon, or silk). If it is 100% polyester, know that it cost very little to make so it's total cost should be related to how my yards were used (a shirt vs. a ball gown) or how much labor must have been involved to construct the material into the final product.

"Satin" says nothing about what the fabric is actually made of, but in the US the Textile Products Identification Act says that the actual fibers used to produce the fabric must be accurately disclosed (if they make up 5% by weight or more of the fabric) in decreasing order by percentage (so if the fabric is 60% cotton by weight, cotton must be listed first).

@kzj802 When you make fabric you take fiber that has been spun into thread and then set it up on a loom to weave together (think of a knitted sweater, but on a much finer scale). Satin is made by how you arrange the threads on the loom, which is why any fiber (cotton, poly, silk, wool, rayon, so on) can become a satin fabric. Silk is a type of fiber that is spun into thread. So a Silk can be woven into Satin, but it can also be woven in a different pattern such as a Jacquard, or "Shot". Shot-silk is when you take two (or more) different color silk threads and weave them together so when you hold the finished piece of fabric in different directions it changes color.
A little safety tip about Silk is that all modern silk is safe to touch your skin, but if you buy VIctorian or Edwardian-era silk objects (or older) then there is a chance the silk has been weighted in lead shavings. You can still wear antique silk, even if it is leaded-silk, but there needs to be one layer of fabric or material between your skin and it. Leaded-silk was outlawed by the 1940s, so all modern and vintage silk should be lead-free.
One last note is that Silk is an animal-based fiber, like wool. It is made from boiling the cocoons of silk-moths. You can wait until the moths grow up and then use the shed cocoons to make silk, but traditionally you boil the moth-cocoons while the larva are still inside. Because of this, real silk is never vegan. If you are buying a gift for a vegan, they would probably prefer you buy a plant-based material or plastic-based material that mimics the feel or look of silk, instead of the real fabric. Some vegans don't mind silk, wool or leather as long as it's vintage (meaning the original creator is receiving no money for having produced the item). I am not vegan, but I try to be mindful that most vegans hold strong opinions about different fabric types and their manufacturing process.
@ptorq This is 100% true. I'd add that it's important to note when a company mis-markets their product and to not "go easy on them" about it. I order from very small businesses sometimes who have their products made in a factory (based on their designs and instructions) and then shipped out to the retail store and SOMETIMES (not always, by a large margin) they totally mis-identify what their product is made of because they just go by the feel instead of checking the official tag. Informing brands (big or indie) when they make this mistake is important because there's a chance one of their customers could have an allergic reaction to an un-listed fiber. It is also important because there's a chance the factory is taking advantage of the small indie brand by charging them for one type of fabric, while instead using a cheaper fabric to pocket more money. The faster a small company finds this out, the quicker they can switch factories and save their reputation; not informing them can mean the company accidently starts losing customer trust.

I think wigs are surprisingly decent from China. I bought a wig for my Anna cosplay for around $30 and it ended up being way better and authentic looking than the offical wig for $140 dollars.
I agree. I've been buying wigs for from China for over a year and they're pretty realistic looking! I was paying at least three to four times more 4 wigs of equal quality at wig shops in the US.
Well that is just the problem.. sometimes you get great stuff I bought some dresses from an India sight that were stunning and worth every penny..I then bought some more and they were AWFUL....there is just no way to know when you buy online

i disagree, AI can make some pretty awesome pictures, the cat and dog chairs are a perfect example of something awesome. Its hard to tell the difference between AI and real art, but it does make some cool stuff. it just needs to be improved more.
