A boss manifold on a stock Coyote motor will make less power than a stock coyote manifold, CJ, or ported stock manifold… the problem isn’t the boss manifold, it’s the motor it’s mounted on (and it’s lack of mechanical advantages to make the most of the boss manifold).. and no, the mechanical disadvantages cannot be fixed by with tuning. Source: everyone who understands a dyno chart.
I thought the boss manifold increased the Rev range and top-end Power in exchange for a bit of lower RPM torque, my totally stock automatic 5.0 with 3.15 gearing still spins through 2nd gear, so I would think giving up 5-ft/lbs of TQ for 10-15HP even if its higher in the rev range would be worth it, especially since it raises the red line a few hundred RPM, so yeah it's a tiny bit weaker off the line but unless you're only racing a city block it should make you faster in almost every other scenario.
@@israelsanchez8572 It looks great and ported it adds about 15 rwhp. Only bad thing is you lose a bit of torque. But I bought it cause it looks bad ass. If you want true power and can afford the monies, buy the CJ. Boss is no slouch if you port it.
