Great video brother. One piece of advice I was told and always follow is that the fogging oil or any oil sprayed into where the plugs comes out from can foul out plugs when I winterize i leave the old plugs in there and put the new fresh ones in after un winterizing it the following spring.
@@kylesummers4769 I spray it as well it’s a good practice. I’m saying I usually don’t change the plugs with fresh ones until I run it for the first time next season.
Thanks for putting this together, I just ordered a 2022 today. I do my own PM work on all my stuff. I like the tip for the oil change kit off of Amazon.
You started your video good but you lacked explanation on the critical parts of the oil change being that your video was mostly accelerated. I had to pause your video frame-by-frame to see what aerosols and anti-seize you were applying to your engine and spark plugs. I have a 2019 FX Cruiser HO with this same engine. Enjoy your ski!!
Javier, sorry to hear about your difficulties with the video. I am still in the beginning stages of making videos and editing the video. Please if you have any questions feel free to message me. I would love to be any help. (Marine Grade Corrosion X for all over the engine compartment, LP2 lubricate for inside the cylinders and Copper anti-seize for the thread of the spark plugs) I do most of my supply purchases from amazon. I am an A&P in the aviation world and just using my mechanical skills to spill over into the watercraft world. Hope you enjoy your FX. They are a beast!
Yea it definitely wasn't a walk through and he provided zero links lol he just wanted the views with little work but a tripod mount and lame country but least he still put one up lol
Sounds simple enough but Rather than the annoying music - maybe try explaining what you are doing along the way. Not everyone may understand what you are doing and why. You started with the Oil change then went to Spark plugs then back to the Oil.
Yamaha recommends inspecting the spark plugs. However, being a mechanic it’s just easier and safer to change them since you already have them out. Keeps the motor fresh as well.
Hello Mr. Moore. Tools used are below. 5 foot level. Flat head screwdriver for the engine cover. 3/8” ratchet. 4” extension 10MM socket for the spark plug coils. 5/8” socket for the spark plugs. Needle nose pliers Funnel 1 gal bucket Hyflex gloves Oil filter strap wrench Copper anti seize for the plug threads
@@kylesummers4769 yeah I get that, what I’m saying on my vx cruiser there is a bar that goes over the 2 middle spark plugs making it impossible to get underneath. Similar to how the back seat connects to the jetski there is one for the main seat that you must remove to get space in the engine area. Hopefully U know what I mean
@ethan mittler no my model year does not that this bracket you are talking about. However I have seen some videos on RUclips that show people taking the support out that is over their engine. I’m sorry I just don’t have that issue with mine.
This video is over three years old and I literally was just starting at RUclips. If you do not like the video, go find others to watch like I did. You can watch and see what is going on here. Thanks for your feedback. Wish you well, as an experienced film maker.
El video interesante pero no explica nada le echo algo a las bujias y ni se sabe que es demaciado rapido y sin explicar para las personas nuevas nadie entiende nada en fin fatal
The best video yet I've seen on the oil and spark plugs replacement, thanks
Great video. What I would do is put a small level on the HO cover to determine the tilt of the engine itself. Thanks for sharing.

I store the ski inside. I spray oil in the cylinders just as corrosion prevention while the ski sits for any period of time.

Nicely done! Now I know what all I need when I go to change mine... well, once I get one of course!
Next time it’ll go faster.

Thank you so much!! I have just bought an fxho 2016 you help me a lot
Please what material extra did you use? Was fast can not see. What the key for the oil filter? Thank you
Copper anti seize on the spark plug threads. I ended up used a oil filter ratchet attachment to remove it.
Good video would have been better if you would have talked throughout the whole process, instead of the music

Why change the spark plugs? It's still brand new...

What better 10w 30 10w 40?? Thank you great video I have a 2017 FX HO 1800 and a VX Cruiser HO 1800
10W 40 is what the yamalube is and that’s what comes in the @yamaha kits.
God that’s a beautiful ski
I have an older one. It's dope so far
Oil filter a bit tight?
The process of the spark plug was a bit too fast. I notice you put some grease on each before you plugged in.
I used copper anti-seize on the threads of the plugs.
How come you can’t say anything about the tools you use or the sizes except the generic transfer pump? Just askin….

how do you remove that seat brakes to get all that extra space and be able to change the spark plugs??
Not sure what you mean by seat brakes. The engine cover is held on by two flat head screws. The spark plugs are under there.

What’s the name of the oil pump
I’ve had issues out of the oil pump. I use a manual pump now from auto parts store.
