    This looks great, most of rc switches have a continuous loop mode which takes you through blinking modes and other ridiculous features, I always wanted a stable on off switch

    I like the idea of an electrically isolated, switched side. Looks good.

      I've been flying about 20 years. The technology in the hobby has changed dramatically in that time but not the thrill of flying something. That is still as fun as ever!

    Another great product from Menace RC, it has a great voltage and amperage range , from a 20mA led up to 15Amps is really useful, I’ll be adding one to my shopping list for sure..

    Great video as always. 👍
    After you demonstrated how this works by adjusting the value on the servo tester to get the light working, I thought it would have been interesting to see how you would then have set this up on your Tx16s for switching on the led lights or a small motor. 😊

      It works in exactly the same way. High channel value turns the switch on. Best of luck!

    It doesn't look like it is actually isolated, but instead the ground is connected through the board. If it wasn't, it would require an optoisolator which doesn't appear to be present, as well as draw a quiescent current from the load side(like solid state relays). You could test with a multimeter between the switch side ground and the control ground.
    Still a great alternative to much heavier relays.

    Worth noting that this can only be used for switching the ground wire. This means it cannot be used for switching things like a Digital VTX to assist in GPS fix before arming (especially if the VTX is screwed to a quad frame). It's a shame reallly as in other regards it's very nice and well specced.

      @@Painless360 I was chatting with Mike at Menace late last week. He confirmed that they will only switch the ground wire. One could still use them to switch the +ve feed with the use of a separate relay.

      Not that I've come across yet but you could use this as one by sending a short PWM pulse of the 'on' value to it...

    Very cool, I am looking to turn off/on my Menace COB driver board on my NANO Drak and think this might be the ticket. I am assuming I would just wire this to the En port of the COB driver board? Where do you wire the ground from the Menace RCSwitch to the INAV board? Currently I have pos and ground of the COB driver board wired directly to my battery.

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  2 года назад

      See the wiring diagrams on the site. Just snip the positive lead to the leds and connect the two ends to the pads on the MenaceRC switch.. best of luck

      @@Painless360 OK yeah I saw that but it didn't look right as the ground was not soldered to anything. So I guess the LED ground completes the ground circuit then. Thanks again for confirming.

    I just bought 3 of these and I'm a bit disappointed. I'm running the new radiomaster mt12. I thought I'd hook up a switch to operate my motor cooling fan. I come to find that the switch will not function when my ESC is sending 7.4 volts to the rx. If I turn it back to 6volts, it works BUT then my servo is weak and the fan doesn't run as fast...according to their data, 7.4 volts should work.
