Find a used boat with low hours, way cheaper and less hassle, also if u can't afford a 10% down payment it's definitely not time for a boat lol

Dude your life is like a country song. If you can't afford 10% you have no business buying a new boat. I'm glad you walked

  • @ericneill8172

Every bass pro shop but I have been in, has it clearly posted on their signs that 10% is required to finance through them (which is usually about six different banks underneath the White Water flagship). When I bought my tracker I went through my own credit union. However, I did have to put a hold on my credit card for 500 which was released once I took delivery.

Kayaks are the real deal; don't need to borrow/spend tens of thousands of dollars to get out on the waters and enjoy bass fishing. I've used mine (Tarpon 100) for 8 years and it cost less than a grand new.

I bought my first kayak in 2016 -Perception Pescador Pro 12.0. I'm keeping it but after being in several tournaments and qualifying for the Nat. Championship, I decided to step up to a pedal kayak- Jackson Coosa FD. That as 3X more $ than my first kayak, but it is a pedal plus I can stand in it to flip and pitch. Hopefully cash some checks this year.

This is the guy in the video...first off I want to thank everyone who has commented positively on this post. Yes that was our first time trying to purchase a new boat and yes we were not educated on how it works. No we are not broke and no we don't live in a trailer haha. We own a $200,000 home in ohio brand new cars and everything we need in life. It was never about not having the money to put down on the boat...it was about what I was told by the first bass pro employee about not needing a down payment. I will not give my money to someone that is going to lie to me. Like I saw in a previous comment on here they baited me then switched it up on me thinking I would go ahead and say fuck it and buy the boat. One last thing...to the ones who keep making fun of my wife's weight I hope you feel good about yourself. We all know it is your way of making yourself feel better aboiut having a little dick. Not always about the way someone looks. She is the coolest chick I have ever met in my life and I couldn't ask for a better wife. Anyway thank you again to every One with positive replies. Some of the comments really helped me open my eyes to what I need to do when i decide to pull the trigger again.

Fishing With Eddie don't worry about the haters. Broke people can have boats too, and the fish dam sure don't care how much money ya got, lol. (Not saying ur broke tho) but I don't blame you for walking, and I think in the long run you will be glad u did. 31k for a bass tracker is nuts. I know it's new and all, but for that kind of money you can get a really good used 21' fiberglass bass boat that would be so much better than a small bass tracker. I have a 20' basscat with a 225 merc that I found for 10k and i got my loan thru my local bank. There's good boats out there, u just gotta find the right one. Good luck!

Listen, I bought 2 bass tracker boats. Not from Bass Pro Shops but from my local dealer. Now that said, I sold both of them and glad. I then bought a Ranger. Boy, what a boat. It makes the trackers sick. I love my new Ranger. Now I didn't do any financing in any of these boats. My dollars are well spent on a quality rig that has been in my garage now in its 4 year. This was probably for the best. If you can't afford $3,100 (10%) of the purchase cost of the loan and you need a 15 YEAR LOAN (which is absolutely ridiculous) in the first place, you really have zero business buying a boat let alone financing one.

15 year loan is insane. Not only would this guy be a fool to signup for this, this type of lending should be illegal. He would have paid as much in interest as the cost of the boat. The boat would have been worn out and scrapped in 10 years and he’d still owe 15k on it. I cannot fathom the idea of signing a loan like this. This video shows so many examples of why our education system is a complete failure. Instead of teaching art, the schools should be teaching about money and physical fitness.

Dude, you NEVER ever buy a brand new boat. It is the biggest mistake most people make. Boats lose at least half of their value the moment you drive it off the lot. I bought a 1998 18 ft Ranger w/ a 150 Evinrude with an electronic jack plate for $5800 that looked brand new from an old man, and I ran that boat for years til I sold it. Blue book values don't mean shit when it comes to buying used boats. You can find KILLER deals, but you have to be willing to fix some things. For example, my boat needed new bilge pumps and wiring. I rewired it and got new pumps for under 100 bucks. When I sold it I got $4500 for it and it was worth every penny in my opinion. Never buy a brand new boat.

    • @BassNvlog

Used to be a 100% true statement however, boat re-sale values are steadily increasing.

    • @bb_bassin7040
      @bb_bassin7040 6 лет назад +2

Saying they lose half their value is a bit of an exaggeration. New boats come with fresh warranties on the outboards too, something that it essential for the serious tournament anglers who put 100's of hours on their outboards a year.
But yes, you do take a depreciation hit once you drive a brand new boat off the lot.

  • @jonpage6983

Sounds like he told based on your credit score some ppl do not have to have to have a down payment. You apparently didn't have good enough credit to do so.... The $250, would be applied towards the price of the boat. Any dealer requires a deposit to hold a boat

No application fee, $0 down payment. It was like I was paying cash. It went pretty smooth. Hope you were able to get a new boat. When buying a boat, always try to buy new. When you see an experienced guy completely dedicated to processing loan apps and making the deal, just see if you can find his car in the lot. It usually will be as nice as the business owners (may be the same guy). Get your finances set up before you walk into a retail outlet. Boats are like cars in the market, all prices are negotiable. An offer they may not accept in July might be accepted in December when they are trying to move stock out. If they have so many customers that they won't deal on the price, then walk. None of them are in that position...ever. Markup is huge at boat dealers. Find the guy shooting for volume sales, not the golden ticket on a few.

See as 78 percent of Americans dont even have 3k saved for an emergency and 42 percent those people dont have enough funds to cover a $400 unexpected expense. I doubt any of you clowns would have just been able to throw down 3k cash at the drop of a dime.
