The movie that introduced me to the legendary Tim Curry. The first of many films of his I have watched since. The casting and chemistry here was just so perfect. Yesterday's bomb is today's Masterpiece. Merry Christmas, Morgan. Thank you for your gifts to us year-round. 🎁

The Tim Curry 1+2+2+1 is still my favorite part and the reason I re-watch

This, and "Transylvania Twist" are two of my favorite movies. Wacky nuttiness, with silly gags, prat falls and one liners.

I have to remind myself that Miss Scarlett isn't played by Susan Sarandon.

I loved this film! Never realized that it "bombed", and, I say this sadly - as I have several of his albums, I never realized that Mr. Body was Lee Ving!
I also loved Murder By Death, the Pink Panther series, and such...but those are from another decade...
    That said, Merry Christmas, Morgan!

I thought *I* was the only one who knew about The Lair of the White Worm! I wan an early Hugh Grant fan (I promise I'm not a faux hipster!), and was just hunting down any Hugh Grant thing out there, which was not easy in the early 1990s, not to mention living in Asia. Maurice? Champagne Charlie? As a consumptive Chopin in Impromptu (this movie is secretly great, by the way…)? Lair of the White Worm? I endured it all!

Impromptu is one of my favorites. Hugh Grant made a perfect consumptive Chopin!

I am glad you brought up "Murder by Death" as this movie has (and likely will) to me always had the effect of me wanting to watch that again instead rather than watch "Clue." It was a much better take on the same basic idea, and I think how much you do/don't enjoy "Clue" comes down to someone having watched the superior earlier film or not.

Yep, that's exactly how I feel about it -- I have mostly fond feelings toward Clue, mostly because the cast is so great, but I *love* Murder by Death.

I saw this film on TV and never knew it had three endings. I cant remember if it was mentioned in any way on TV.

TBH I'm not completely sure if it's not also funny on page. It's hard for me to separate the performances from the script. I will definitely disagree tho that it's funnier in lore than it is in viewing. I just saw it the other day and certain parts still crack me up...particularly the moment when Yvette and Mr. Greene pause for several scenes before going up the stairs in the attic. hahaha...still kills me. Great analysis!

I remember catching this in theaters in the 80's, then again more recently and never realized how raunchy the humor was when I was young, lol

As a result of the movie's renewed life on home video, it more or less got taken in by the Rocky Horror community as a companion piece; the Los Angeles cast, Sins o' The Flesh, used to perform it annually and the parlor scene *ahem* KILLS in a live setting. The 2003 national Rockycon also included a Clue shadowcast, and a very hungover young me got to play Mr. Boddy!
Thanks for the review, Morgan, have a good holiday!

P.S. Sometime later... I like this movie so much, I eventually felt the need to make my own video about Clue: The Movie. I structure it as a retelling of the events of that night, similar to the criminologist in 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show' I recreate my favorite scenes and try to explain some back story for the guests. Hope you like it. ruclips.net/video/B9j5SqN5APQ/видео.html .... P Double S, miss you Morgan and learning about which movies you thought were super interesting, and your thoughts on them. Hopefully you do more projects in video, or movies in the future.
