the underground bus terminal in chatham seems to be a typical 70s and 80s installation. Back in that time shopping centres were the centre of a community, big car parks and sometimes also bus stops included into such a facility was standard and very futuristic. Something that also last until the 90s as far as I can remember. Over time (and I dont really know why) the good combination with city shopping areas and transport (car and public) became more and more out of fashion. More and more people buy stuff on the internet and the classic system that everything happens around a central point became less important. The current trend seems to peripheric public transport facilities and as a result you need to to long walks in the rain.
Uplifting PostTower where you are wrong is that it’s not underground, it’s actually wrapping around the second story of the pentagon shopping centre. Half of it is on a supported canopy around the side and the other half is all inside (tunnel)
I remember going in The Trafalgar Centre on occasions when I was studying in the Medway area (back in 2004/2005) Didn't ever realise there was a car park attached to the centre. I went in the Tescos car park for a look on one occasion too but back then didn't know the building had a reputation for being so grotty.
Is the parking garage still used at Trafalgar Center? At Tesco, it looked like they had modernized a second elevator. Are they going to modernize the third one or it it out of service forever?
The skateboards in the background were the greens I hang with ... That bus station is an absolute shithole and they had surveyors in to look at redeveloping it last week (:
Possibly. I think so, due to goddamn health and fekin safety. It is such a shame as I really wanted to go inside this shopping center and see whats behind the doors to the toilets. There is going to be a new center if no one wants the current one. If there is, then there may be some ecodiscs as they are popular in shopping centers. If it is sold and not knocked down, they will modernise this place and get rid of all the good stuff.
The reason why the trafalgar centre closed down is due to it being extremely unsafe, especially because of 1) the shop which was breaking the law by selling cannabis seeds 2) the vandalism and drug abuse from the local chavs
***** Also yea the Trafalgar center is being pulled down because the roof is rotting in and the whole building was soon to colapps. I cant believe you went in there for the last time. You are some one lucky man ;)
The front part of the Trafalgar center was low quality and was leaking rain into the building. The rear part under the car park is a concrete frame building which is still in good condition and hasn't get been pulled down.
So am I. I never got to see an old united lift before it's modernisation and I cant believe I FUCKIN MISSED the Fuckin Trafalgar Center! Thanks a fucking LOT, health and safety!
Aw... used to get Yu-gi-oh cards and things in there after college... Apparently the college I used to go to is now flats though.
Wow Chatham IS very Grotty indeed.

Good old Chatham
Apart from Rochester in the daytime, the high streets in Medway are shocking.
What was the saftey problem?
I thought the bus station was being renovated into some shops. In a few months/years, they might have lifts inside them!

All the lifts have been modernized at Tesco.
Alex Ellis
It said there was an elevator out of service, unless that is just an old hall station not wired up anymore.
It was. The old Buttons are no longer in use because the new buttons are now in service.
Who wrote the poster at 0:32?
Have you ever been caught in a service lift or service level
THAT WAS MY FAVORITE GROTTY PLACE NOW ITS CLOSED DOWN :(
I think the Tesco should have gotten pressure washers to clean up the poop. And resurfaced the parking ground.
Very interesting Seems that some of the shops in Trafalgar Centre went bankrupt.
Levels 3 and 4 closed due to safety concerns due to it being bird pooed and cigarettes and wee etc.
The skateboards in the background were the greens I hang with ... That bus station is an absolute shithole and they had surveyors in to look at redeveloping it last week (:
Never to see this because of Health & Safety.
Health & Safety (UK) If you're reading this: Should reopen this another time...
Hvalse Xawcmign they need to just fix the problems then reopen it
im not entirely surprised it was the dirtiest shopping centre ive ever seen
benobve do you know that the lifts are owned by NCP car parks [they always modernise their lifts to a stupid generics that's why they got modernised]
Looks like finally tesco got all 3 lifts working shame bout them all bein modded
How come the lifts are working
aaron smith Still have electricity
Because interestingly, old lifts are designed to last 50 to 100 years ( I think)
Is Trafalgar Centre going to be demolished? Just wondering

RIP Trafalgar Center.
1970s-2013.
they should have fixed and opened it :(
I can't believe they did that. They should had closed it and then refurbish it and re open it! Also why do they have to leave their rubbish outside?
because they can't be arsed to put it in a bin.
