- 15th episode of SEE THE WORLD video series, following a bike ride from Alaska to Argentina.
After two and a half years I was finally done with North America, Colombia was the start of a new continent and needs to set the standards but for some reason I felt like I didn't want to go to any popular place, I took off through the hot lowlands and into the rainy mountains, along the way getting a chance to meet the Backroad Warriors of Colombia.

What I love about Iohan is that no matter what he encounters, he's happy and laughs about it! I've watched all the videos now, and I can't recall him getting upset or stressed even once. That's super amazing! Total admiration!

Even after 31 years of long distance bicycle touring I find your stories very inspirational! I can identify with a lot of the things you show but cannot imagine being in some of the situations you encounter! Keep up the great work!

are u still planning to reach Argentina? It probably take you awhile. But here i'll be waiting. I'm thinking about doing something myself and doing a little research just found you. You don't need me or anybody to tell you this but, its very nice what you are doing. Requires a lot, but a lot, of courage just to plan it seriously. Hi Iohan. I do not know if anyone commented on the approaching of animals (dogs, horses, mules, etc).
If I can make a suggestion, do not reach to them with your hand with your palm downward. To an animal, it thinks you are going to hit them.
Try reaching for them with your hand with, at first, with your hand inverted and your thumb wrapped in your fingers (like an inverted fist). Your thumb is covered by your fingers, so that if the animal bites your hand your thumb and fingers are protected. If the animal sniffs and/or licks your inverted fist, slowly open your fingers up showing your palm. Then gently reach out to scratch the animal.

1 hour episodes are awesome, but it means twice more work for Iohan ....
sadly the computer cannot handle well anything over 45-50 minutes but also after the 30minute mark I get very distracted while editing and takes forever to finish!

The fun for him is seeing what 90% of people never see . The city life is predictable and doesn't change much . This is what he enjoys being out in the countryside to see what life is like not being in largely populated areas. The hard going trail is just all part of it. ✌

An incredible trip on an amazing journey, Colombia is one of my favorite countries, though I have not seen it for 35 years. I never got to see it like this! Keep up the work brother, but please stay safe.
From Capurgana to nearby Medellin and no mention of any other pueblos and pueblitos in between , alot of miles covered between Capurgana to Antioquia nearby Medellin without mentioning one other populated pueblo , seems like alot of content is missing or not bothered on producing or alot of distance covered for so little video content and we are barely more than 8 minutes into the video . Colombia is where I live , After having lived in 7 other countries before Colombia, however to me this is my idea of paradise I will stay untiI the end of my days in South America , I wish there was more video content mentioned between Capurgana until nearby Medellin . Btw I Do love your videos !

congratulations on a job well done. I've thuroughly enjoyed everyone of your videos many times. Twice I've gone for bike rides for 20 or 30 miles in temperatures below freezing, and both times have gotten frost bite on my toes, I don't know what your secret is but more power to you.

He’s taking all these horse tracks. Horse hooves. Hoof prints. Mud. Rain. Thousands of tiny pools. Millions of mosquitoes. Iohan must be the kind of guy that just doesn’t get bitten by them.
I don’t really know about Colombia or the neo tropics, but having done years worth of bike exploration in Indonesia, mosquitoes are unfortunately a real concern for some. Malaria runs rampant in certain parts and dengue in others. Having suffered through the latter, I can tell you it’s no joke. I’m so interested to learn how he copes with them out there.
You have one HUGE heart my friend. Even though it is obvious you survived to carry on your adventures, I still worried for you on those open 'big swell' waters in that little dingy.

Iohan, you were lucky that no harm came to you on the back roads of Colombia. I've been to Colombia a couple of times. So dangerous no matter what. Years ago I ran into this guy who was from Australia, he told that he was there for rock climbing adventure near Cali, his body was found next to a dirt road left for died, It's a wonder that you never ran into the
Indigenous people protection the coco plant.
yeah I havent had scary encounters in colombia, just one time some people had a chain across the road but they lowered it, mumbled something about a moto and let me through. I didn't stick around to ask more questions :)
