i come from a musical family and I play many instruments, I am 73 and married my soulmate when we both were 21 and I am blessed to still have her in my life. My brothers and I used to sit around our ranch house and play. Joined later by my then new wife of 52 years . Your music reminds me of those golden times. Just guitar (my little brother), harmonica, autoharp, and other instruments by me, banjo by my older brother. Nothing like making and listening to music that way. You are flooding this old mans heart with sweet memories of yesterday. Thanks for these and keep them coming!
This makes me so happy to hear. That's the whole point of sharing the music, to bring back memories and keep these precious songs alive. Thank you so much for listening!
In his autobiography, Ian Tyson tells an interesting story about writing this song. He was a struggling NYC folk singer at the time, and had not written anything significant. He was in a McDougal Street bar one afternoon with some friends and Bob Dylan came in and played a new composition for them: Blowin' in the Wind. Someone commented that the song would earn a lot of money for Dylan. Tyson went home and thought, "If Dylan can make a lot of money on a song about the wind, I can too." And in short order, Tyson wrote Four Strong Winds.
Yes, they were both on same album(RCA? heck it was 60 years ago!) Baltimore is another one I do a lot, fingerpick or strum, and it is a new song for many. I like your catalog and your performances!@@TaraDunphy
Thanks David! This was before I upgraded and got a proper mic lol The newer videos have much better audio, I might even redo this one. The song deserves it.
Hi Robert, this was recorded using just an iPhone so definitely not studio quality. Much better sound on the newer videos since I have upgraded to a Shure MV88. Check them out!
Amazing truly wonderful ❤️❤️❤️🌹🌹✨✨✨🇨🇦
Simply magnificent!!❤...Quite a natural sound!!
Beautiful

Don’t find any problem with sound. Very enjoyable cover. Great singer.
Trara really catches the spirit of this song. Sad and uplifting.
Thanks Patrick, happy St Patrick's Day!
Pretty. Real. Sound quality is fine. Voice makes up for any shortcoming that way.

What a great story, thanks for sharing that Luther!
I can't get over how beautiful your voice is. So relaxing. Any plans to sing in Wisconsin in the near future?
It's entirely possible. Maggie's Wake will be on tour in the US later in the year so we may make a stop in Wisconsin. :)
😊😊😊 My goal is to leave a comment on every song posted and to read all comments to Tara.
😊😊😊
Nice job. I first knew of this song in mid 60's done by Bobby Bare.. His is still my favorite version. Ian Tyson has a great catalog , as you know.
I love Streets of Baltimore and Detroit City! Bobby Bare is awesome.
