@uncreativeturnip4812 I just looked it up because I was curious as well , and everything I found basically was along the same lines as how the original comment described. I think that this person just wanted to attack someone. There’s no solid explanation of why the mother and father designs were like that, or at least none that I can find yet, but it’s also fair to speculate that the devs could’ve left it up to the player to form their own understanding and symbolism to the designs. In conclusion it’s safe to say this person was just being stubborn or assumed that whatever they wanted it to mean was the only correct assumption on what it actually means.

In one of the other endings it is explained that the mother would stand up for herself when not in front of the kids so that's probably what the other person was talking about. However the monster represents how Hinako sees her mother so I think the explanation is still correct

In the cut-scene, that mark skipped, you catch up to the spirit. You try to attack, it grabs you by the neck and lifts you up. Your sister shows up, orders the spirit to kill you. You're begging for help. The spirits grip tightens and with a squish sound the screen goes dark and it continues where Marks video goes.

So for those who didnt understand the plot and THIS ending. Hinako was forced to married to pay the debt of her father. Shu, who had romantic feeling for Hinako but was late to tell his feelings, decided to give red pills to Hinako to ruin her wedding. However, everything went wrong, Hinako was going insane and went berserk on her wedding and killed some people. This whole time in this limbo, this is all in Hinako's broken mind. Now Hinako is in her 20s and ran away away as a murder.

@kingnemon8352Yeah, that why there are multiple endings. The trick is when you finish your first gameplay, you can replay the game BUT you mustn't use any red pills. And do more things but i'm not gonna spoil all the fun.
the fact that the red pills supposedly HEAL her sanity too whenever she uses them. this whole game is a trip
@huii.santosexactly. And it was Shu who give them to Hinako, to purposely sabotage the wedding. But it backfired, driving Hinako to insanity and killed people. Certainly one of the victims was Shu since all of Hinako's friends (and parents) were dead.
How do you know Shu wanted to ruin the wedding? He didn't show any signs of being problematic whatsoever. How would he even get access to them? As well as, the final cutscene implied there were at least two massacres, not just the wedding one
38:35 the mom literally throwing a knife at her and then going "why are you doing this hinako?" is the most accurate representation of parental abuse i have ever seen
that is the dad throwing the knife. he is a soldier and he has a "trick" to throw a knife. which is why she panicked when the crowd was chanting for him to do it. he once did it where she almost was hit and she was terrified by it/her dad.

A stream for a second ending would be great. A second playthrough heavily recontextualizes the story in ways you wouldn't expect. And now that Hinako has the Fox Brooch from the beginning, she can access some rooms she couldn't before.
A stream on this game would take 8 hours and half without interruptions and not getting stuck(which wouldn't be a stream by then but a playthrough with no commentary ).So realistically It would be a 12h+ stream which just isnt marks thing

@giovannifilippofragile He is a lot busier with other projects now than he used to be, but he did used to livestream pretty often back in the day. After completing RE2 he went back and livestreamed replays for the achievements so it's not totally unheard of.
Final episode so people will stop accusing you of not finishing... i got some BAD news for you, Mark... you can only get the true ending by getting 2 other endings... and you're locked into the worst ending for your first time.

Psychotically murdering people... including friends, family, loved ones... at your own wedding, during a drug induced delusion is probably pretty bad.
At a wedding that she didn't want in the first place, maybe she wouldn't have had that mental breakdown and killed everyone if Shu hadn't been drugging her or got her addicted to those pills. It's like Hinako got her freedom, but at what cost? I wouldn't consider it one of the worst endings though depending how you look at it

I think he was only finishing the game for the people who got invested into his series, and kind of lost interest in playing the game for himself. It kind of felt like he wasn't invested until the very end when he got intrigued again. I don't blame him, though, since the combat from what I've seen looks frustrating and awkward feeling.
@roketv2 tbf he is playing with controller and seemed to mess up things esp with using items, i may be wrong but i think keyboard and mouse is easier?
@st4rdyy I wouldn't know for this game, but overall M&K tends to be easier than controller. Some games favor controller, though.
@roketv2 In general movement based games tend to be easier on controller, any other game favors mouse and keyboard. I'm not saying it's impossible to switch up either or that this is law, it's just easier to do it this way.
@eeeeee8762 I think it comes down to personal preference most of the time. As someone who grew up playing on consoles, I find mouse and keyboard to be easier with almost every game I play.

2:37:16 Remember that Shu was the one who gave the pills to Hinako at the beginning of the game. You can find some notes about the pills throughout the game, and you see more of the plotline revealed during New Game+, but the pills were....more than just painkillers. Shu has stuff to answer for.

Okay so for anyone wondering there are multiple ends. There’s 5 in total.
1. Coming Home to Roost
The standard ending.
2. Fox Wedding
Unlocked by not taking red capsules, purifying the sacred sword, and obtaining the Agura no Hotei-sama. In this ending Hinako accepts the pre-ordained marriage to the fox guy.
3. The Fox Wets Its Tail
Unlocked by not taking red capsules and obtaining the unpurified sacred sword. In this ending she chooses freedom from the fox guy and shu. She’ll also confront the fox god and choose her own path.
4. Ebisugaoka in Silence
Unlocked by not taking red capsules, purifying the sacred sword, and meeting certain requirements after obtaining at least two other endings. In this ending Hinako rejects both Shu's control and the arranged marriage with the Fox guy.
5. The Great Invasion from Space! (UFO)
A secret, joke ending that is unlocked by listening to all UFO radio broadcasts, finding all three "The Great Space Invasion" movie posters, and then finding the movie review after fulfilling the other conditions.
The difference between ending 3 and 4. In ending 3, "The Fox Wets Its Tail" is the "good" ending where human Hinako rejects her fate and escapes with Shu, but the fox god's influence is lost, causing the town to become uninhabitable. In ending 4, "Ebisugaoka in Silence" is the true canon ending where human and fox Hinako reconcile.

If you play through the plus game, save right before you cleanse the sword. This way you can cleanse it and beat the game, then go back to that save and don't cleanse the sword. 2 endings from one save.
I think the other one happens if you find all the manga around town.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is not the Full Ending of Silent Hill F, there are 5 endings, 4 of which can only be gotten on new game + and one of which (generally considered the "best" ending) can only be gotten after getting 2 other endings (including the first run ending), the game also changes a fair bit in the first 2 new game + cycles. really hope Mark goes back and tries to get other endings.
I also hope he will play for the other endings, especially since it does change more than just the endings.

The "One more thing to show you." thing is like how in anime they always say "a certain person" like it's supposed to be ominous. It's just how Japanese words work. You just can't say "there's something I want to show you." because that's just how the language works. He has a thing he wants to show you and it is a specific something.
When they said that Hinako caused the "wedding massacre" I wonder if that ties into when Vincent is "joking" with Heather when he asked "they look like monsters to you?"
I've always believed that the monsters that the protags kill are actually just people. Could also make sense when Laura in SH2 wonders why Silent Hill is dangerous, James sees monsters and maybe Laura just sees people.
I could be completely wrong, just a theory that kinda changes my perspective on the stories
Don't forget that the other two stuck in Silent Hill with James saw a different version of the town in their OWN perspective like for Angela everything's on fire while for Eddie it's freezing because of how we (the player) were able to see his breathe.

i think the whole bit when hinako is talking to past hinako is about growing up. the letter we read previously which said that the baby bird has to fly, and junko's speech in shu's house when she tells hinako to CHOOSE. i think hinako allowed herself to live and grow up which is why current hinako is past hinako but past hinako is not present hinako. and the anger in past hinako is because she thought in the future she would have answers, but she's still clueless which is why she thinks they need to die, or fight to the death once and for all. but that's just my guess haha

From the first episode of this series, when the red pills were first showed, I initially thought like, oh resident evill stuff, but then again, pills lying around didn't seem safe cuz they didn't come with a peoper explanation. And when hinako was acting like an addict I thought maybe a different ending would occur of no pills were taken but it's unlikely, and then my suspicions were proven right when other endings were shown...
After this is all over this girl needs a hug, and a lifetime supply of really strong antidepressants

Haven't finished it, but I find it really telling how she's been getting letters from a "man" since she was young and then essentially married a "silver fox". Literally this is what they call older men who have grays but are still very sexy and handsome. I find it weird no one has mentioned this yet.

im watching the 10th ep right now and we literally see a flash back from when hinako and the silver fox (in his human form i forgot his name) were both kids and interacted. so it seems the notes were from someone else

Fox Mask is shady and sinister, but he's a saint compared to Hinako's parents.
Considering the notes, I think the Tsunekis are the reason why the town turned into a monster infested hellhole.
I expected Junko to show up, but I thought she would be connected to the creepy doll that showed up sometimes, not Fox Mask.
Fog Monster is probably the thing Junko wants Hinako to kill.
Doll telling Hinako she 'won't be able to see her father and mother anymore' feels like an incentive for Hinako to keep going.
Interesting ending.

There is actually already different dialogue since the first cutscene once you start New Game+. NOW Hinako actually talks about the marriage (to herself cos this is a mental landscape), and her parents actually are clearly arguing about the arranged marriage. In the first playthrough, nothing about the marriage was hinted at explicitly during the town segments at first. Thematically, Hinako isn’t hiding the fact that the marriage is actually happening to herself anymore, and her true feelings about the matter is what the multiple playthroughs are going to explore more thoroughly.
Specifically you also learn more about Kotoyuki, and his history/relationship with Hinako. Cos technically Fox Mask is her mental projection of him overlaid over what’s happening IRL. Since Shu caused her psyche to split with the red pills, the version of him we actually see is very off and colored by both Hinakos.

@sophieceleste_the_human I think a lot of people simply weren’t taught how to recognize symbolism, unfortunately. This game isn’t perfect obviously, but the symbolism in it is pretty interesting, especially considering the setting.

I thought she was murdered by her friend because of a boy and that fox thing was guiding her to the afterlife or something and the whole game was her resisting and holding onto her life, but nahhhhh. That the things she fought was angels or something trying to kill her and force her into the afterlife and her appearance slowly changing to look how she looked when she was pushed off of a cliff and fell into the river and stuff. I thought I had something going until the wolf arm came out of nowhere

Holy shit, read the (ENDING) and was like "No way, did Mark quit?" since there's no way that in 40 minutes of video he can finish the game unless they cut a ton of footage then saw that it's an almost 3 hour video.
Hey Mark, long time fan here. I would absolutely love it if you started the Silent Hill 2 Remake sometime. In terms of the SH-world, this game is a cut above the rest in modern horror IMO. SH F was so much fun to watch you play man, you rock as always.
