Same can say for Sandman and Spiderman if he wanted to could easily kill anyone marvel if they treated him right and just think Clayface and Sandman team up
Personally one of my favorite iterations of Clayface has to be the Ethan Bennett version from The Batman (2004) series. I love his slender yet menacing design, I love the fact that he's an original character, and I really love how he has a more interpersonal relationship Bruce with Ethan being his former best friend who is also one of the cops that's trying to arrest Batman; it renders Ethan's eventual transformation into Clayface, at the hands of the Joker, that much more tragic.
"Treasure-hunter Matt Hagen was transformed into the monstrous Clayface by a pool of radioactive protoplasm. He now possesses super-strength and can transform his claylike body into any form." Lego Batman D.S.
Clayface is one of the most dangerous villains batman has ever faced. I remember him in batman, the animated series, the Justice League episodes, and from The Batman 2004, yet he's highly underrated. Thanks for the video.
My favorite Clay face moments in media is from the Harley Quinn show where he was being controlled by someone else and turned huge and earth breaking and everyone was like "really you could do that this whole time" kind of how Peter Parker doesn't use his full power
One of the best Clayface episodes in TAS was Growing Pains where Clayface created a little girl named Annie to scope out if it was safe. She lost her memory when she wandered away, hooked up with Robin, then sacrificed herself to save him, being reabsorbed into Clayface and essentially dying. Such a well-written episode.
Same here! It was Batman the animated series that got me into the character, Clay face along with The Batman 2004 when detective Ethan Bennet was kidnapped by the Joker, who later transformed him into clay face.
I feel like him and scarecrow would be a deadly combo because clayface could turn into like the waynes or one of the robins while batman is filled with fear toxin
Dunno if this is a controversial take, but my favorite Clayface is the one in the Harley Quinn series. Alan Tudyk as a hungry thespian is just too funny, and it makes a lot of sense for a character that looks like he does.
The most interesting story was where Batman gave clayface a second chance. You don't earn Batman's trust just like that. That story arc must be featured as a separate video.
It's unfortunate that I seem to be in such a minority on this, but all my favorite comic book antagonists are the ones that can actually be pretty decent and cooperative if they're just given some kindness and understanding. Clayface, Mr. Freeze, Harley Quinn, etc. Sadly the nature of comics being so firmly dedicated to their status quo means it's extremely rare for that character development to stick like it did for Quinn. Nine times out of ten a new writer eventually comes along and reduces them back into an evil snarling monster for the hero to punch.
That episode in TAS with Tim trying to protect the little girl shook me. The Batman's Clayface vs Clayface was cool! BUT TAS Mr. Freeze will always be my favourite villain from that era. Cold and calculated. If the next Batman movie has Clayface as a villain, Will Smith is the perfect cast. Hey, it worked with RDJ!
My favorite moment of Clayface is where he disguise as a healthy looking Joker in Batman Arkham City while also being the final boss as well. He could make an perfect villain in The Batman 2.
I think the modern DC rebirth clayface origin is a very good story because it shows elements from the anime series. I think it's in a Batman annual, but I don't know the number. It elaborates more on the accident that he mentions.
In more recent media they Brought back Basil Karlo who gained the powers of the other Clayface's by Injecting himself with all their blood samplessentially turning him into the most powerful version of Clayface

It’s pretty ironic to me that the reason the original Clayface became Clayface was due to going crazy after he found out his movie was to be remade, when there are now 8 separate Clayface characters based loosely on that one.
The first time I saw clayface on Batman tas as a kid he scared me I never forgot that episode when he bust his form after impersonating someone and can’t forget the woman at the end of the episode but thanks arrris now I can look back and laugh 😂

My favorite controversial clayface moment actully comes from "the batman" done by kids WB. Much later addition, but he is tortured by the joker and becomes clayface as a result. Then when he is later taunting batman he changes his face to the joker and says the famous line: "Do you know what separates the freaks from the normals? Just one bad day! Ever had a bad day batsy?"
One of the most interesting versions of clayface was from the 2008 "the batman" series where they took liberties to change alot of villains but I thought clayface was one of the better alterations to making his origin and story more unique
The thing that makes Clayface very dangerous is, his amorphous body and intangible structure. Bullets don't work, electricity doesn't kill, and regular attacks can't hurt him. Clayface can also shape shift giving him the perfect disguise, his voice is also changed to that of the person he imitates making his presence unpredictable. Clayface has only a few known weaknesses' given he is compromised of clay, he's weak to water because, water makes clay runnier. Heat is also a weakness because, it will set and harden, and alternatively cool, which will freeze and prevent clay from being malleable. Overall I like Clayface not just due to his origins, but because overall he is so deadly and hard to deal with.
Are you going to do history of Jentorra, Kryler(played by Bill Murray), Multiple Man, Cassie Lang as Stature/Stinger and the city of Chronopolis in honour of the Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumainia movie?
All of the fictional superhero stuff shouldn't be taken too seriously, but to be shape-shifting to the point where he mimics someone's DNA...? Out of clay? No. No, that is just too ridiculous. Just keep him as a mud monster with no real DNA stuff.
Clayface is the definitely one of Batman's most dangerous villains
Also by far the best stage actor among his rogues gallery

His appearance in Batman Arkham City was a surprising treat; I forgot about him right up until the end of the story mode of the game.
One of my favourite villains. And I remember watching his movie in the animated series, and his last words still haunt me. "Curtain's going down..."
There is also Ethan Bennett from the 2004 batman cartoon he is police detective and a good friend to Bruce Wayne
Was he ever incorporated into the comics?
I've been waiting for this my boys finally getting some recognition

Fun fact, the first one’s name is a reference to the actors Basil Rathbone and Boris Carloff
Great add! 😎
Honestly my favorite was when they made him good, showed character development and I almost cried when I thought Batwoman killed him
I really love Clayface in the Harely Quinn series. He’s over the top in just the right ways.
Honestly forgot it was clayface
Clay gave one of my favorite. Had his animated series toy.
Ethan Bennett was an underrated Clayface and was a favorite of mine from The Batman cartoon!
Shout out to Ron Pearlman in BTAS for incredible matt Hagen voice work. AND The detective comics run of clay face as apart of the team was INCREDIBLE
I hope one day for Villains Month you do a video for the Ventriloquist and Scarface. He is my favorite Batman villain and is very underrated!
Dummy !
It sucks they hardly ever use him in comics 🙃
I know right!? There is so much you can do with his character and modern writers like Tom King or Chip Zdarsky could make some great stories with him!
Alright clayface! Cool.
The serial killer clayface one is my favourite. its just so realistic and so dark, i love it !
Same here! It was Batman the animated series that got me into the character, Clay face along with The Batman 2004 when detective Ethan Bennet was kidnapped by the Joker, who later transformed him into clay face.
Such an underrated & underused villain, tbh
That origin in Batman the animated series was amazing for him!!!!
I remember a story where Karlo gained his powers via blood transfusion from the other clayface’s
Please do a history of Animal Man episode the character deserves so much more recognition
First Clay Face having a Phantom of the Opera feel to it.
The "Growing Pains" episode of the New Adventures of Batman is one of the best Clayface stories. A real heart breaker...
I feel like him and scarecrow would be a deadly combo because clayface could turn into like the waynes or one of the robins while batman is filled with fear toxin
“My mom told me I could be anything I wanted. ANYTHING.”
―Clayface
Clay face to me is Batman’s most terrifying villain. He transform to almost anything or anyone.
He needs to appear in the next batman movie.
Matt hagen or basil karlo's version either one would be great.
I don't know which Clayface I like more, Basil Karlo or Matt Hagen.
I think Basil Karlo and it's true because he's the first Clayface
Am confused i thought karlo was the normal dude without powers , and matt was the actual one with clay powers
Dunno if this is a controversial take, but my favorite Clayface is the one in the Harley Quinn series. Alan Tudyk as a hungry thespian is just too funny, and it makes a lot of sense for a character that looks like he does.

Definitely one of Batman’s most dangerous villains.
I'm really hoping we get to see him in a live action movie someday.
It’s Clayfacin’ Time
Love him in the Harley Quinn series as well, there he's still a tragic figure but also a funny one.

I've always thought they never used Clayface's full potential in any story. Because he is essentially a clay construct T1000
I remember hitting the roof when my dad got me the Clayface action figure from BAS, and he had this arm that would shoot out a metal ball.
In Batman the Animated series although the Clayface in that series is Matt Hagen they obviously based his career as an actor off Basil Karlo
