My Mum was born in Bridlington as were my many aunts. Oh boy! Down to earth, salt of the earth women you NEVER cheeked! Kind-hearted and generous, honest and..scarey! Loved them all. So like these lovely ladies. 😊❤❤
Born and bred in Holmfirth I can tell you that, superficially, these ladies, like my dear Aunties, are absolutely true to life. But underneath they are REAL ladies and unbelievably kind-hearted. And that's before you consider their fruit-cake! (Let alone their gravy!!!).
ah , those were the days , Compy , Cloggy and Froggy , Moira Batty , Sid and Iris , Gary and Brenda , Granny Wheelwright , Howard and Madonna , Pearl and Dean , such lovely memories .
I have to say that you are right. He must have been watching an entirely different program! From a different planet! The sky may or may not to be blue there.
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view!" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"
To be fair, Pearl is upset because Howard is out chasing skirt, not just because he's out. I suspect most gents wouldn't be all that thrilled if their wife/GF/what-have-you were out chasing other men.
The actors were all pure gems, they gave many wonderful fun chuckles thru the years, im 83 and still love them!

I never watch it till the middle off last year for the first time . Not stop watching since

I really enjoyed most of programs from across the pond, I've watched many of them and could rewatch them over and over again.
I can watch these over and over again. They stopped putting them on PBS so now I'm having to watch him here
You can also watch the episodes on WWW.DAILYMOTION.COM, they have most of the episodes uploaded there.
PBS is way to concentrated on all the 🐂💩 going on. At one time even their news was from a neutral viewpoint.
@@lewisbale1 Thanks abunch will ck them out.
Been watching them constantly for 5 years
I think I’ve watched this episode 100 times and it keeps getting funnier 🤣Thank you for sharing LOTSW with us ❤️
I love this show!

Always love this show
well that was the best sound and video of all the ones I have seen here so far
This reminds me of when the BBC made things that were worth watching!!! Sadly a long time ago now.
Yeah. Now nothing is worth watching.
Thanks to you tube During Lockdown Watching Last of the summer wine What a great programme 💓💓💓
Totally agree with you. Greetings from Finland. Happy Holidays and Better New Year 2022.
Roy clarke... genius 👌😊
I. He did open all hour's and still open all hour's. And many others. Very talented man.
RIP
Frank Thornton and
.Stephen Lewis Burt Kwouk
And many others.
The ladies are so typical of Yorkshire women, reminds me of when my Gran, Mum, & aunties got together.
Love that show👍👍👍✌
Jolly good show..............
I wish the video on TV was good as these, and a FULL screen !! USA
"Are you seekers after the truth?"
"If not the truth then some acceptable substitute."

William Butler I think you have the wrong program!
I have to say that you are right. He must have been watching an entirely different program! From a different planet! The sky may or may not to be blue there.

Does Howard ever get caught out?? 🤔
Laura Vevers yes, quite often actually.
I'd say with alarming regularity.
Caught doing what? He never did anything!
@@Chai2574 Every time, more like.
Caught out doing what, dear?? Why are you so suspicious of a man who likes to go bicycling, and experience nature?? It's all very innocent...😮
Turn on the sound
Final appearance of Smiler Hemingway.
Smiler's absence is explained by Tom in "Of Passion and Pizza"
I've seen their Goalie she could break Mirror
I love RUclips
Mr Roper.
Don't think it worked as well with four main characters. Clegg was sidelined for most of this episode. Still very funny though.
295 episodes
You're too modest Alvin, you're daft enough for further than That.
😂😂👍👍💖💖💖
Why did the writers make Pearl out to be so DUMB... Howard got away with everything...
Sandra Boxill
She wasn't that dumb and he never got away with anything.
Pearl made sure he suffered.
They were witches!
1 complains because her husband won't go ou the out is mad because he does a bloke can't win lol
To be fair, Pearl is upset because Howard is out chasing skirt, not just because he's out. I suspect most gents wouldn't be all that thrilled if their wife/GF/what-have-you were out chasing other men.
I actually think the women are far funnier than the men.
What’s the mystery? They’re in control and they outlive us.
Offered his us Wife, but we'd rather have Cash.
IT PUTS A GREAT STRAIN ON HIS UNDERWEAR
the *real* actors were worm-ley witch-ed
sTop FUSing tAvIs 2gether
theres alot of boozing in this programme
'Attenti': non K-croup teesdale most 'caravanly' gone (and stromley welk week failure)
Pearl got uglier over the years. She also got fatter with wrinkles. The women without husbands stayed looking younger, such as the librarian.
I'd forgotten what a load of crap this was !
George used to run scared of Mildreds affection and now hes chasing Nora batty ? wtf ?
I love this show!
