I have seen that film. Years ago, I really liked it, though I don't remember it. It would be good to see it again. I love the Sutherland/Bonynge version with the wonderful epilogue and Joanie's amazing singing! It would be interesting to hear Hoffman sung by a baritone, if the material is there for a reconstruction. Thank you for the video!
I think you'll find Offenbach's dog was called Kleinzaches - with the extra "es"!! But nice to see this reference. Did you know, Offenbach apparently died still holding the unfinished manuscript of Hoffmann? A ramarkable man altogether as indeed was ETAH (who appears under this acronym in the novels of Robertson Davies!) There we are-
