This sounds like an hymn more than an anthem.
Both are nice but i still love the one we composed ourself than the one oyinbo composed for us..
Which ever one we sing, i hope the lyrics of the songs works for us...

Love it. This Nigerian National Athem is unifying and encouraging to a better future. People often don't know there are different tribes within European countries, France has 77 vernacular languages in addition to French, in Germany, there 5 different languages in addition to German, in Netherlands in addition to Dutch, there 7 vernacular languages, 5 of which are official. Do Nigeria like most countries in the world is not homogeneous, like successful countries in the world we should capitalise on our diversity and enriches ourselves in the wealth of cultures that makes us unique and at the fore front of global cultural excellence - Afro Music, Nollywoods and Cullinary - Egusi Trends and Guiness World Records.
Together, Africa will rule and prosper. ❤

@TRAIN-Nigeria Thank you! So many colonised & conquered minds. It's just sad. Praying, singing & dancing hasn't & isn't going to save Africa. Wishful thinking & procrastination will not get anything achieved. Like Malcolm X said, we need to stop singing & start swinging (physically & mentally).

This is a prophetic movement, for our stubborn problems to be solved we have to go back to the root and start there to correct things.
This anthem have more meaning than the other, y won’t we have problems as a nation proclaiming meaninglessly all these while.
Now it’s time we declare good things for this country Nigeria and the president did right in this one.

    Standardised Anthem
    Stanza 1
    Nigeria, we hail thee
    Our own dear native land
Though tribes and tongues may differ
    In brotherhood, we stand
Nigerians all, are proud to serve
    Our sovereign Motherland.
    Stanza 2
Our flag shall be a symbol
    That truth and justice reign
    In peace or battle, honour’d,
And this we count as gain,
To hand on to our children
    A banner without stain.
    Stanza 3
    O God of all creation
    Grant this our one request.
Help us to build a nation
    Where no man is oppressed
And so with peace and plenty
    Nigeria may be blessed.

This is the same issue with nigeria, the national anthem is a metaphor for the current dissonance between the nigerian political elites and the common or peasant Nigerians, the elites never think about the emotional or national attachment the current generation has to the athemn, the bulk of the common Nigerians are the youths not the 60 or 70 year old men in the senate and presidency wearing thier imported diapers, The change is pointless, its just increasing the difference in values of the past and present.
What is nationalism, when you change identity on the whims of gremlins in the high council, how do you expect ordinary Nigerians to identify as.
Those fools keep killing the country and the smile in thier blood tainted houses, Those fools will kill Nigerian Nationalism.

    This is all rubbish.
Reverting to the old national anthem is not a priority for Nigeria.
The economy is in shambles, there's high insecurity in the country and corruption among the politicians and ordinary citizens, there's high unemployment and abject poverty in the country, Nigerians are hungry and angry. We don't need an old colonial era anthem.
Btw, the anthem we've been using was written by our fellow Nigerians; young, talented and gifted. It even has a good meaning.
The old one was written by a colonizer.
Tinubu and his gang have smoked enough weed to come up with this annoying idea of taking us back to colonialism.

The so called new National anthem was composed by colonialist England and the now old , composed by Nigerians.
It is the illegal National constitution of 1999 that must be gotten rid off, not the National anthem.
This generation of Nigerians are the most uninformed of all time.
Those of us who grew up with this anthem, long before any of you were born, have good and bad memories. Bad memories of colonialism, military governments etc. !
We need the national anthem composed by Late ASP Ben Odiase back !

Reversing Anthem is Chasing shadows. Reverse fuel pump price and things will be ok. Hardship will vanish, peace ,love and progress will return. Oil producing country, yet buys fuels like those that doesn't have it. Fuel is the main problem of Nigeria now.

Hope in christ Jesus is the anchor of a Christian's soul. Jesus is the light in this dark and sinful world and your only assurance of a brighter future . Therefore, hold fast to hope of salvation, dear friend, and trust in God's promises. Let your hope in christ be rooted in His faithfulness, His love, and His goodness. Do not lose sight of the eternal hope you have in Christ, but rather let your heart be filled with joy, peace, and expectation at all times. There is hope for those who believe in christ, for He is saviour. Accept Jesus christ today and be saved from the damnation to come. Romans 8:24-25 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that, we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
