I get you about having different sizes of notebooks and inserts. I usually use a B6 wide, but I've been known to slip in both longer and smaller inserts, depending on how I'm using them at the time. I don't use the strings for the other sizes, but they slip in nicely at the back and even the middle when there is a little fullness around them. I think it's fun to see different insert colors poking out of the various sizes..
