I was there 2024!! Best moment of my life watching this live 😭❤ The samba schools were amazing and I also want to add that they do this in 30 degree heat at night! So much cred to them! 👏
This is one event that I was able to experience and on the best night to attend. It was incredibly spectacular and completely immersive. As soon as I entered the Sambódromo I was carried away by the music, pageantry and the electrifying energy. I found myself dancing and reveling in celebration all night long and it was non stop for at least 8 hours or more. Each of the presentations from all the best samba schools competing to be crowned the best were all unique displays of splendid imagination, creativity, color and dance. The best part about watching the presentations was that I found myself in awe thinking I just watched the best presentation of the night only for it to be topped by the next school and that one by the following school. If theres any event in the world that is a bucket list must do, that you won't regret and you will love yourself for doing, it's attending Carnival in Rio. It's that amazingly phenomenal.
The Rio Carnaval Committee would like to offer you a job as Spokesman. LOL! I've been filming Carnaval for over 10 years and even after all that time, it still amazes me. The floats get better, the women more beautiful than the last generation, the creativity of the costumes keeps getting better, it truly is an amazing experience everyone that can should see.

This footage is incredible! Can’t tell you how many times I said wow! Brazil Show this is phenomenal. Can’t wait to see what you do next. Maybe something from São Paulo?
Wow, Muito obrigado! I don't have São Paulo on the radar just yet. I do have a video from São Paulo Fashion week on the channel, and I'll definitely be there for the NFL game next season, and possibly Formula 1
It's really fantastic to see this huge party. Only Brazil knows how to make such prestigious events!! Brazilians know how to party!!! Continue to enchant us!!! Thank you for this magical moment.
LOVE the deliberate inclusion of Blacks and Creoles. Most Carnaval footage minimizes them. I watch every year. So glad I found you and hope you continue. ❤
Great video. Seeing how they got the performers to the tops of those high floats using the cranes and baskets is something I've wondered how they did for a long time, now I know. You mentioned that the directors job was to keep everyone moving and to make sure they make the allowed time. What is the allowed time per parade? I had a feeling they were timed because I remember seeing what looked like a timer right by that side area that the Baterias go into.
Yeah, the cranes can be dangerous too, especially on windy and rainy nights. I've seen people slip before, not get seriously injured though. A friend of mine was put on the top of a float and she was extremely scared of heights, she looked terrified the whole parade and the TV station was awful to show her over and over in a state of panic. As far as time, they have 75 minutes from the time after they pass Sector 1 and enter Sector 2 - the judging doesn't start until then.
Thank you...Thank you...Thank you for the interpretation of the Champion's song. I've been watching different video clips of Viradoura's performances and saw the passion and happiness in the delivery. Great song and great presentation of the song. I can see why they won.😊 Also, thank you for being such a great translator. 😊 Your pride in being Brazilian shines bright. As a person, born in the Caribbeans but live in the US, I can understand that pride. Blessings!!! BTW, what happens to the Champion's floats?
I appreciate your kind words my friend. I told my friends immediately after I saw Viradouro, even at the rehearsals that they were the school to beat. Salgueiro was a close 2nd, but they made an error that cost them points and dropped them to 4th place. BTW, I'm not Brazilian, I'm and expat from the U.S. and have been living in Brazil for 20 years, but I'm Brazilian in heart and soul! The floats which are enormous, are dismantled and the parts are re-used for the next year's carnaval Not necessarily with the same samba school, what ever is not used is stored for future use. You'll see a float one year and the following year you see components from it in a different school but decorated differently. Some components of the floats are put on display at the Cidade do Samba in Rio or may go on a museum exhibit .
@@thebrazilshow, Thanks for the FYI. Also, I had Imperatriz as the school to winning if Viradouro slipped up but Viradouro delivered their song and message far more clearly, and they looked committed to the message with their Presentation.
