- This is a presentation on how to manufacture biologically-derived fertilizers. Biologically-derived fertilizers, also known as biofertilizers, employ vast communities of microorganisms to do the work of deconstructing organic and inorganic elements and aggregating them into dynamic plant-available compounds.
The aim of this video is to encourage farmers and growers to think about soil and crop nutrition as a means to increase farm profitability and to consider biologically-derived fertilizers as a viable tool in that strategy.

30 liters of water + 1 bucket manure + 2 jars of whey + 1 jar molasses + 1/4 jar rock dust and 1/4 wood ash - anaeraobic fermentation - seal tightly but put an airlock that allows gas to go out and no air coming in. one can add other minerals like manganese, zinc, sulfur, as may be needed by your soils...blessings

Shame that you did not publish the minerals that you added with exact quantities... The whey used is not from milk since you mention S. cerevisae. Is it a wine maker type in sugar ? Any reference ? If the receipt is public can we keep it so ?
i dont think its needed to be exact science but rather put a lot of shit in a can, put the lid on and wait.

Well im making some. Been about 3 weeks. It hasn't smelled bad or got any strange coloring on it. I just seen this video I will probably add rock dust. In okla we have red dirt, red dirt is loaded with minerals so I'll add that and ig call it done.

Kai, great questions! I'm sure many folks that adhere to similar principles would appreciate this inquiry. The answer to both of your questions is, contradictorily, YES. Yes, you have to use whey (or low-fat milk) for this specific method, and Yes, there must be another way.
Regarding the first Yes: In the above method, where we are replicating the environmental conditions found in a cows stomach to explode a population of highly-specialized fermentation microbes (rumen microbes), whey is an essential component, and its absence would alter the biochemical parameters of the process and the desired end product. Whey, like the other ingredients used in this process, fulfills a unique set of essential requirements in the least amount of steps using the least amount of additional resources (equipment, capital, etc) to meet those requirements. It's the shortest distance between two points if you will, which is why this biofertilizer process and its formula were designed the way they were.
Regarding the second, contradictory Yes: Technically, it's the chemistry of whey that is required, not whey itself. Therefore, you could fulfill the same set of essential requirements that are attributed from whey by sourcing and substituting the pieces of its collective composition from alternate materials. This would add some obvious complexities to the process, however its entirely do-able if you enjoy a challenge. If so, you're already halfway to your solution - you have access to the worlds knowledge (internet) and you possess the ability to read and write. All you need to do now is ask your search engine enough questions*
Keep in mind this is just one of many ways to cultivate microorganisms and utilize the beneficial products of their metabolism to mobilize soil and crop nutritional components (Daniel Harvey mentions two good examples). This method was chosen for the video demonstration because the components and the processing equipment are both ubiquitous and inexpensive, the production steps are analogous to a cooking recipe(familiar to many ppl), and the efficacy of the product has a long-standing track record.

Lactobacillus is in natural fermented or wild cultured vinegar. Japanese Nature Farmers have used that for a long time. The yeast is beneficial too.
